Aude you need to advance yourself to 3rd level Adding 6 hitpoints for being human and 6+con bonus for levels 2 and 3 you should have 32 HP I need to know from everyone your views on allowing the traits,which are in effect, minor feats into the game. if everyone is in favour then you can pick two..if not then Aude will have to lose hers
OK heres how I see it..you can sell all the stuff in the top section in the village that nets you 1000 gold. Then you take Tristan and do the one day there and back visit to the castle to see your aunt..the only member of your family who supports your interests(its always an aunt). She gives you a good price on the spell(20% friends and family discount)..so that costs you 300 GP(it would most likely come off a scroll so I used scroll price as base) Tristan should be able to disarm the trap and unlock the box you now have 900GP and 5000 SP.(180gp and 1000sp each) The magical treasure is worth 45343(excluding the chain shirt and the hooked hammer) thats 9068 each. That means the magical weapons are worth virtually a full share each(I always hated this insistence that treasure be shared equally..my view is you take what you can use..the rest gets sold and divided between you).

As you can see with a limit of 200 GP the village isn't really able to buy much of your treasure so it will probably require a trip to Tarsh ,some 80 miles away, to sell it. It just so happens that Ensor is looking for guards to convoy a wagon load of furniture there. He has already hired two ..a Skandik fighter and a Ranger. By artificer I mean someone who knows his way around a lock..using the word in its original sense not the D&D one..possibly a higher lever rogue in the mercenaries The local cleric is unable to cast remove curse(and being evil he'd probably gouge you on the price anyway)..however it would be a matter of hours to get Tristan on a horse and ride the 20 miles south to Huffi castle where Eltariels aunt Kiya is Priestess of the Goddess. The three tunnels go as far as is shown on the map, the waterfall gorge narrows to a crack 2 feet wide at a depth of about 12 to 15 feet.As for the other questions..well a little mystery is good for the soul It is indeed Day 3 when you return to the Village...still within patrol schedule.If you set off at first light then you can make it by mid afternoon..there are no encounters on the way back as if the gods of luck have decided you have had enough excitememt for now. so what do you sell and what do you keep..both Tristan and Sasha declare their intention of leaving the village soon..after all neither of them was one of the villages paid mercenaries. Tristan needs some extended bed rest to recover anyway.
Valkyrie..I'm loving the stuff you do..about the dream..I'd rather you did it as then you can push your character in the direction you want her to go in rather than have me railroad you in a direction you might not wantto go in. He came back rather shaken last night, very drunk and mumbling about idiots and demons. From what you could get out of him theres some sort of treasure below the town and some people are going looking for it tomorrow..he's expected to go but he isnt a fool and knows no good will come from it. Off course this might just be the break you have been looking for a treasure which might be enough to get the Scarzini of your back.

The book makes interesting reading..it appears to be the journal of a Derro champion..presumably the one on the chest and also the subject of the bust.The story in brief is as follows Long ago, a small clan of derro split off from traditional
There is nothing in the book about gnomes but you can deduce what happened now..the gnomes must have tunneled into the Derro complex and then been almost entirely wiped out in a savage and swift attack. Then it appears that the remaining Derro just..well..died.I t still leaves some things totally unexplained like the big scorch maek but most tof the tale is resolved by this journal.
I'm going to be generous and give you the 150 points for an efficient Mission completion..nobody died..and you recovered 95% of everything that could be taken from the place(if you had been able to open the box during up time it would have left most off you just 29 points off 3rd anyway and Tristan would have made it.) Ok Eltariels plan The heal skill requires a full days treatment to increase the gain of HP from a nights rest so it wont work in this situation..unless you want to take the extra day out to heal up (yes you can take 10) You gain back 3 Hp and a Con point (for those who lost Con) due to the nights rest(in 3.P temporary stat loss is just that..no chance of permanent damage..but if you Con hits 0 you snuff it) The Identifies on the Sickles the following day show them to be Keen +1 The pole idea will speed you up a little it will now take 10 hours to make it back to the village. Tristan does a CLW on himself(7 points)he now has Con 8 . He also cures Sasha(8 points) Sahsa is on full HP.Avinar and Gashelle are still down by 3 hp after the spell casting.Tristan heals Sasha back to full health
Well Dabbler you know my feelings about Eberron...the world that killed Greyhawk. your analysis of wht should happen and why is totally accurate I am pushing things a little to get the others involved.So i intnd to get you back to the village after any posts you have to make about the end of the expodition So you new guys get ready to start posting in the next couple of days. Lol I looks like Avinar will have another lady to turn his charm on. I trust the amount of loot meets with Gashelles approval(its about 40000 gps worth..) I'd like your thoughts on the dungeon..was it too simple...what were the best and worst things about it..that sort of thing? Funnily enough I too thought Mothers Kiss would make a good legacy weapon.
Casting a detect magic shows up a number of items of interest..both the creatures sickles, a ring it wears and an amulet around its neck. In addition Eltariels keen eyes spot an area of floor that looks different from the rest..scraping the moss away reveals a chest carved out of the rock itself which shows a mighty derro warrior beating back his enemies. Tristan examines it and declares it to be untrapped.He finds it locked but is able eventually to open it.Within is a small leather pouch containing 30 silver coins, a small bust of the derro champion made of amber,a wand and a footman’s mace. There is also a small book. The mace and wand both detect as Magical. you value the bust at 300gp Further searching of the area shows that thisis indeed the end of the tunnel complex..there are no secret doors no further ways beyond.
Examination of the items you have found shows the following The Sickles both exude a moderate transformation aura(you are unable to fully identify them) The Ring shows a faint abjuration(it is a ring of protection+2) The Amulet shows a faint divination..however the aura fluctuates between faint and dim(it is a faulty medallion of detect thoughts..it has a 30% chance of failing for every 20 minutes of use[non cumulative]if it fails it loses its abilities for 1d3 hours) the Mace shows a moderate evocation (+1 footmans mace of frost) finally the wand shows a faint conjuration(wand of Monster summoning II 12 charges) The extra weight with the box and the large masterwork chain mail shirt means it will take a full 12 hours to cover the distance back to Lepas.

Ameiko softly answers Inikais question.." My body has healed thank you..but my mind still reels from what my brother has done." Ilsoari continues "So these tunnels..probably used, so the mayor tells me, as a way into town by smugglers during the era of Chelaxian rule.They might be quite extensive so you'll need a good light source..Kallie is that part of your power or your's Father Marak?"
Round 4 Sasha blasts the second zombie Eltariels flame bolt sails past the creature and impacts on the wall behind it scorching away the moss and slime of decades Tristan misses again Avinar stabs up at his attacker from the ground then scrambles away the sickles missing him wildly as Gashelle makes another mighty swing and takes the thing down. The scream shuts off abruptly as her glaive slices the things throat. Round 5 consists of Sasha and Eltariel taking out the remaining zombie with wand and bloodline ability. 400XP each
The morning dawns grey and overcast with low dark clouds scudding across the sky borne on a stiff wind.After a hearty breakfast at the inn(at home for Kallie..your mother also embarrasses you by insisting you take a basket of food with you..just the sort of thing you are sure is NOT done by intrepid adventurers) you make your way to the Academy where Ilsoari greets you..you are soon joined by Father Zanthus,the Mayor and a bruised but fully recovered Ameiko
Ilsoari begins by outlining the events of the past few days for those who have not fully experienced them and then moves onto the more pressing matters. It is clear that in matters arcane he is the voice of authority in this town "This demon below us is a threat to all who live here. Father can you throw any light on the powers it may have" "Certainly" replies the priest "I was able to discover that Quasits are amongst the least of demonkind..indeed it seems that even demons regard them as some sort of vermin. Some serve as familiars to powerful dark spellcasters.They have a poisonous sting, are resistant to damage and can make themselves invisible at will. In addition they heal quickly and oftimes assume the form of another creature. I have prepared two scrolls which may aid you against its abilities" He places the scrolls on the table. "Has anyone any questions?"

You get home to find your mother waiting for you...she asks where you ahve been and I assume you'll just come straight out and tell her(she always knows when you are lying anyway so theres no point). She lets you know she doesnt approve of her girls hanging around taverns unchaperoned but strangely it's your sister who comes to your defence. In the end after an hours argument your mum comes round to the acceptance that your a big girl now and can make your own decisions, (You may still have your dream though) Inikai

Eltariels magic missle strikes home the bolt of force homing in on its target with the usual unerring accuracy Avinar tries to bypass Gashelle and the creature to get behind it but all that leads to is him prone at the things feet(The DC to tumble through an opponent is 25). This does however force Gashelle to step back and she is able to strike again(hits AC20 for 13 damage) The monsters howling reaches a crescendo and then drops to its original level.Thankfully you seem to be getting more resistant to it(A, E, G 2 damage each)It slashes at Avinar with its sickles one striking the floor the other slashing him across the back(6 damage) Eltariel Spoiler:

Ilsoari raises an eyebrow as the girl comes over..her fumbled attempt at an introduction however brings a sympathetic smile to his face. it's as if he can read her mind. To Muchorak he replies "nar Chee sadu thanduk desrat makantha" Spoiler:

I would go myself but my age tells against me and perhaps what is down there may have some bearing on your studies." "Yes Kali you did hear right there is something down there..something eldritch and evil.Are you volunteering your services in defence of the town? Do you have the courage to face the unknown and more to the point do you have the courage to face your mother over putting yourself at risk?" The old Headmaster's look is one of concern for his former pupil mixed with a certain satisfaction

Round two Tristan cannot bring his bow to bear on the zombies and so lets fly again at the creature a head before ducking to the side out of the sound wave. The arrow sinks into the creatures flesh(4 damage) Sashas fire burns a zombie then he dodges into the other side passage Avinar engages a zombie but his thinblade fails to find a weak spot in it's banded mail(it also carries a shield)
Eltariels sickle flies true again however her sharp eyes realise that neither of her hits have drawn blood(0 damage from both hits) The creature continues shrieking its wail rising in intensity thankfully the three heroes in the line of fire are able to steel themselves against it effects( G, E & A take 3 damage each)as Gashelle deals it another mighty blow which again does not seem to bite as deeply as it should The Zombie follow thier programming and attempt to grapple Gashelle again..it fails
The strange beast(Gashelles knowledge skills are off no use to her in identifying it) steps forward to engage her with twin sicklesone rattling off her armour, the other scoring a slight wound across one thigh(3 damage)
Avinars dagger bounces off the creatures flesh. Gashelle steps forward and strike at it her blade biting into the thing. At theat point the two coffins on either side of her turn out to hold derro zombies which attempt to grapple her but fail. The abberation screeches loudly its sonic waves shaking your bodies. (Gashelle takes 3 points of damage everyone else takes 6 )
Ok the order is now Avinar in the lead backed up by Gashelle, Eltariel and Sasha with Tristan bringing up the rear. Sure enough on examining the niche Tristan spotted you find yet another ring..it radiates Magic and turns out to be a ring of climbing(+5 on climb tests). you push on down the stairs from the chamber you encountered the zombies in The hallway splits in three directions ahead. It looks like the central passage dead-ends after 20 feet. The tunnel has dwarf-sized sarcophagi standing up on end lining the walls, making a very uneven surface. At the far end is a small altar and squatting atop it is a bone-white gaunt figure covered in dark tribal tattoos.
Tristan gets initiative of 20.
Tristan moves to the front beyond Avinar and lets lose with a bowshot that misses completely, then Sasha pushes beyond him and lets lose with his fire which sputters fitfully(2 damage) Ok Eltariel your up next
Ilsoari seems to take Ali's actions in his stride In answer to Muchoraks question Ilsoari nods. "As I say I would not speak ill of the dead but there are many who will not mourn his passing..in truth the man was a bully who drove both his children away" To Inikai he says "You don't recognise the girl?...shame on you lad, you spent four years correcting her somewhat fanciful language essays..it's Kali! Surely you remember 'The Black Witch of Sandpoint'. Though to be honest the red hair does make her somewhat unrecognisable" On Maraks comment he laughs self deprecatingly.."Sage..well some might call me that...I just keep my eyes and ears open and I know a few tricks..travelled a lot in my younger days and made a few wise decisions..as well as a great many unwise ones. The wisest of which was to settle down and use my brain rather than my sword arm" Kali

The tall Shoanti, who, once you get past the stern demeanour and the muscles, is in fact rather handsome..just like those exiled barbarian princes of some of your more fanciful imaginings mentions a threat beneath the town. Maybe this is your chance to prove yourself if only you could get someone to take you seriously

Ilsoari looks pained at Inakais question...."Aye that was a bad business and I'm not surprised you didnt take note of it at the time Lad...She fell they say..fell from the balcony of the Mansion to the rocks below...some said she jumped...well..that's as maybe..though I would not speak ill of the dead Lord Kaijutsu was not the..easiest of men to get along with, I know Tsuto has claimed his father pushed his mother to her death...but I can't believe he would have done that"
Ilsoari looks at Inakai and raises an eyebrow.."The wine isn't for drinking boy....but I'll happily drink to your health in the good stuff later" He leads you over to a quiet table..Bethana still brings a goblet of the rough common stuff along with a bottle of the good wine.She has obviously done this before. The ring and bottle are produced..Ilsoari begins by opening the bottle and sniffing it then tastes a little with his finger... "Hmm yes..well that's just your common or Garden healing potion.. nothing special there. I drank many like it in my younger days"(potion of Cure Light Wounds) He then proceeds to pick up the ring and mutter some seeming nonsense words whilst stirring the rougher wine with the feather. He turns the ring over with his fingers staring at it for some time.. "This ring will augment your resistance to damage somewhat but only by a slight amount"(ring of protection +1) Ilsoari carefully pats the feather dry then returns it and his other junk to his pockets.
Basil turns to the half orc.."Would you do me the favour of stipping the late father...much as I do not want to believe this tale of treachery Ido want the truth...We do not as is commonly believed condemn out of hand. Sergeant help this gentleman please" He turns his attention to the pile of objects on the bed taking his time to search through them for anything unusual(take 10 on a search for a total of 10)
Inakai spots a familiar figure beckoning him across the common room..it's his old friend Ilsoari "Ha Inakai, I hear you have been busy these last few days and I hear also that you have some items which might require some clarification as to their purpose" Marak... Spoiler:

Ilsoari is your old headmaster..interfering old fusspot and a bit weird..though he never made any comments onnyour dress and general look. Ilsoari fishes about his person spilling an eclectic selection of objects onto the table in front of him and finally picking up a somewhat bedraggled owl feather from the pile. "Now all we need is some wine...Bethana if you would be so kind..it doesnt have to be the best in the house any old plonk will do" Bethana rolls her eyes but trots off to find the wine coming back shortly with a rough red in a goblet. Ilsoari smiles his thanks and turns back to the party. "Now then may I see the items in question?" Doing Magic in a crowded Inn seems not to bother him in the least.
