And Bobba Fett looks like he stepped off the set of The Rocketteer (which was an awful movie therefore Bobba Fett was also awful)

The Rocketteer had Jennifer Conley in a low cut gown and in a one piece, therefore the Rocketter was not an awful movie.

Definitely behind this Conan, Tarzan and John Carter were my first fantasy heroes

And Spicer needs a first part of an AP on his resume..

Can we start referring to it as "The World's Most Popular Roleplaying Game" now? ;-)

The completely non-material Wild Druid had to remember the platinum stash? For shame Romon, for shame...

Will: *looking at Cosmo's empty desk* No Cosmo today?

Sara Marie: Nope, he's out of the office.

Will: Bummer.

Sara Marie: Yeah, but there's always an upshot...

Sara Marie:... no Cosmo today :D

I just wanted to post a quick thank you to Sara Marie (Customer Carebear!!) and the rest of Paizo's customer service. You guys are amazingly responsive, courteous, and helpful. Despite the slight hiccup with an order, once I made my query about it, it took a total of 15 min response time to clear it up. I don't know how much hassle you have to deal with as CS for Paizo, but you all do a great job, and probably don't get enough thanks for it. So, here you go. Thank you.

Having begun, just barely, to understand the concept of commerce, if not the reason, Ali watches quizzically as Roman purchases the flowers. She accepts the gift with a large and genuine smile, clearly delighted both by the action and the fact that she can hold them to her nose, blocking out the other overwhelming smells. But with wide eyed innocence she asks him "Sneaky man, Ali no understand. Why you need give shiny yellow rocks...this be 'buy', yes yes? For beautiful flowers land gives for free?"

Then after, as Esteriande attempts to explain the market in more detail Ali simply stares at the pretty woman. Between the accent and the unfamiliar words and concepts the small Gnome is lucky if she understands one word in ten. She nods her head politely although her incomprehension is clear on her face. Smiling to show her gratitude despite her lack of understanding she asks innocently once again "But, but, Ali no understand this- When all people in world is here now, does that mean all rest of world is empty?" as she marvels at the possibility of such a thing.

Romon, you continue to delight me with your posts and constant ability to bring a smile. Thanks

Hi all,

Although I have played around with the idea of playing a table-top rpg a number of times I've never really gotten into it. However, as I saw the videos of Blue Table Painting starting a Pathfinder campaign, I got excited to get into this as well.

So... now I find myself on this website for the second day in a row trying to wrap my mind around what I need to get a group started and can't figure out what it is that would be best to get, being a new player. I hope you guys can help me out.

Neither me, nor any of the people I would want to play this with, have ever played any table-top RPG so we are all new to this. So what is best for me to get? From the looks of things I understand that in order to play I would need to get:

* A core rulebook (50 US)
* A Bestiary (40 US)
* A Campaign setting, Adventure path or Module (price varies)
* A collection of different sided dice

This combined totals for up 250-300 US just to get started as an initial investment, for something non of us are sure we want to continue with, unless we buy the PDF's, of course, which read less comfortable than a book and which we can't have with us on the table... And that while 'the worlds oldest rpg' has a starter set for 20 US =\

My questions are:

- Is my above assumption of base requirements correct and/ or what do you as experienced players suggest I should get? (Should I get a Rulebook+ Bestiary+ Adventure path, or should I go for just the Rulebook+ Bestiary+ Module?).

- Do I need anything else other than the above to get started?

- Isn't there something like a starter kit which makes it easier for new people like myself to get into the game, with less of a steep initial investment?

I really hope someone can give some insight. Don't get me wrong on the cost part either, I don't mind making the (steep) initial investment, as long as I know I'm getting the correct items for a beginner so neither me or my group will get frustrated simply because we got the wrong stuff.
