I've just started the AoW AP, and am thinking more and more about running Shackled City also. However, how does it stack up? Is it better, or worse, or about the same?
Lately, some of you may have noticed my decreased presence on these boards because I was busy actually playing D&D on dndonlinegames.com. I was just wondering if anyone else on these boards plays there or at any other online D&D site, and if so, what their screen name is.
One DnDOG, I'm: waterdeepflapjack
I need to find the fighter class acts that has the cooking equipment for a self sufficent soldier. I think the article is about Roman Warriors. If anyone could help, I would be extremely grateful.
Thanks alot,
WaterdhavianFlapjack (aka waterdeepflapjack on DndOnline)
I'm reading through CotSQ, which I got a few days ago, and was wondering what I need to convert to 3.5e (actually, Iron Heroes in particular), and if anyone else has some tips or tidbits of wisdom about it. Plus, it would be cool if you shared your experiences, either DMing or playing. Also, for anyone on the boards who has IH (cough, f2k, cough), if you have any tidbits about the conversion for IH in particular, that would be nice.
Thanks all,
WaterdhavianFlapjack
Hello,
I have recently purchased the FR Campaign Setting, and found it to be my cup of tea. In fact, I really like it. But, I am curious about Ravenloft, specifically the 3.5 version from White Wolf. I was wondering if it was any good, what makes it unique, and what the different White Wolf Ravenloft products cover. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
WaterdhavianFlapjack
As I have said many times before, I started playing D&D with 3.5, and with the recent PDF downloads of old supplements and adventures available on paizo I have been wondering if I should get some and if so,which ones I should get. Also, it would be nice to know the merits of each of the good ones, and how easy it would be to convert to 3.5. If anybody could help me on this, I would be very, very grateful.
Thanks,

Hello all,
I decided I should get in on the campaign journal action, and seeing as my Eberron campaign just ended, I thought I might want to write a journal on the d20 Modern campaign I'm playing in. Hopefully, this thread will convince the rest of my group to "get in on the action", and post some of their thoughts and opinions. This campaign is based heavily on RPing, so I will include basic character personalities with the descriptions. So here goes...
Players for 1st Session, 10/8/05:
Me: Loccdon Marcheon, Dedicated Hero Level 1 who may eventially become a psychic, a telepath or an investigator. Maybe a field medic. 29, male, blue eyes, black hair, and accountant. Indifferent to his job, a little bit of a neat freak, and at the start of the campaign is pretty much a smart-aleck or joker, who has not yet really encountered anything much in his life that has scared him. From Australia. His family moved to the States because of strange circumstances forcing them to leave his small village-town on the mainland for another location. His family had been considering a move for a long time, so they viewed this as fate and left. The circumstances invovled a series of crimes, a murder, some angry villagers, and a big mystery covered up. Hopefully, it will be solved later. In spite of all this, Loccdon (or Don, as he is now being called) has a loose code of morals, mainly just us common sense and be nice. He is fairly savvy with technology, lives in an apartment, and is very wise and in-tune with the world around him, and will act as a sort of peacemaker, aways placing the smart, common-sensical person.
However, his light and chipper attitude may change as a result of some of the things he has discovered to date...
Rob McFarnle, Fast Hero Level 1, and athlete. Has gotten along fairly well with Don (in fact, they share their apartment) and although their strengths are different, they complement each other well in both abilities and personalities. However, Don did catch Rob stealing in this session, which was a point of minor conflict (more details to follow). Stay tuned for more details straight from this player...
As of the first session, numerous players (about 4) were missing and I think that 3 of them should be coming next session, which is tonight. (10/15/05). More details to follow on that, when I get around to it.
As mentioned in the slightly lengthy title, I think that we at the Dragon boards need a single thread to tell the Paizo folks about ways to improve the magazine or things they are doing right instead of just having multiple little threads scattered over numerous boards. Basically, this will (hopefully) be a one-stop resource for us to give the people who actually decide what to be in the magazine our ideas. So, happy posting, and to a better Dragon!

Hello, all. Right now I am working on a cool idea for a character in a future campaign, and was wondering what good ideas for unique and deep characters some of y'all have come up with. So, to kick it off...
Just as an interesting diversion, I would like to open this thread for people to talk about googlewhacks they have found, preferably D&D or fantasy related, but anything else is okay too. And, also, come up with the real definition or a plausible one. For those who don't know, a googlewhack is a search term, without quotes, that is two words and returns exactly one result. Have fun!

Could some of you Paizo people (sounds like an insult, but it isn't :P) give me and other potential writers more information about what you are looking for in Critical Threats and other Campaign Workbook articles? I'm thinking of submitting a good NPC, and was wondering if you just take NPCs that can be foes of the PCs.
Thanks.

Much like my "Must Have Dragon Issues" thread on the Dragon forums, I was wondering what issues of Dungeon people thought had really good adventures in them, and what they would consider must haves, specifically because it would be intersting to see some of the great stuff in Dungeon's that people may have missed so we can snatch up the back issues. Post away.

Just curious about what other people think are "must haves", and what they found useful or intersting. Post away.

Hello all. Considering buying 121 and I want to know more about the whole mag as a package, as well as some specifics about the Styes. I mainly want to see how to make a good murder mystery type adventure, which is why the Styes appeals to me. To those of you that have it, what do you think?
Also, I am interested in the FR adventure that month. How good is that?
Thanks.

Hey, y'all. I have the Expanded Psionics Handbook, and was wondering how other products like Green Ronin's The Psychic Handbook stack up and which ones you guys use.
Thanks.

Was just reading through Dragon 128, and the article about OA piqued my intrest. Does anyone have it? If so, do you like it?
What specifically is good or bad? How can it be easily adapted to FR or Eberron? (While I'm at it, I 'll throw Greyhawk in as well) What parts can easlily be adapted, and what can't?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
WaterdhavianFlapjack
I'm intrigued by the new Magic of Incarnum book out from WoTC. Has anyone flipped through it, or better yet, bought it? (My FLGS dosen't have it yet) What are your opinions on it? Is it worth the money? How original and/or revolutionary is it?
Also, if anyone just wants to discuss new stuff from that book, this is the place.

Hello all. Looking through issue 124s "Chamber of Antiquities", and Maure Castles 3.5 revision in issue 112 interests me. I see that Paizo only sells the pdf. I was wondering if there was any way I could snag a print copy, whether from a website or if anyone has a copy they don't want anymore. Also, Paizo people, out of curiosity, why is there no back issue available in print?
Thanks, all.

Hello, All! My first issue of Dungeon was 126, so I was wondering if Dungeon 124 and 125 were good enough to warrant a purchase. Mainly, I am considering 124 for the Diamond Lake Backdrop, but anything that people found interesting in these issues would be nice to know. Thanks,
WaterdhavianFlapjack
Seeing as the "Tips for Contributers" thread has gotten a bit ungainly, I thought it would be nice to have a sort of repository where the freelancers who periodically submit to Dungeon (and Dragon, too) could post advice on the process, etc.
Also, maybe the folks from Paizo could post advice, or what they want or have a shortage of to help out writing.
Soooo, post away!

I think that it would be very nice if you supported Iron Heroes and other great D&D products that just happen to not be by WoTC. I think that most of your reader base would enjoy reading more about these products even if the articles are just excerpts to spread the word about them. I know that you are owned by WoTC, but it would still be nice to include content for products put out by other companies. How does everyone else feel about this?
WaterdhavianFlapjack
First off, Erik, everyone, if there is any rule I am violating by talking about this, than please tell me. That said...
I recently got Iron Heroes and really like it. I think it is one of the best books to come out for D&D in a long time, even better than AE (which I don't think very highly of). But, I have not seen anything on these boards discussing it, besides one post on an AoW thread, so I would like to open up this thread to talk about what people think about it, how they will use it, etc.
For example, I am planning on running the FR adventure War of the Spider Queen using the Iron Heroes material. My players are eager to play drow, so I will have to find someway to make that work with IH. What about you guys?
Is it just me, or did the first intallment not cover enough about Dhusarra's hints. At the end of the first installment, it mentioned following her hints and investigating the Dungeon of the Crypt, but in the section detailing her hints, none of them mentioned this. Are her hints going to be further covered in her next installment, or am I missing something?
