Born to a human mother, Warren spent the first decade of his life not knowing his father. When the man suddenly showed up at Warren's home and declared who he was, Warren began spending considerable amounts of time with him--Learning about the world as well as how to wield a blade.
After a few months of this activity the two of them found themselves beset upon by monsters--Lycanthropes. Shoving his son into the underbrush and telling him to hide, Warren's father battled against them but was eventually overrun. To Warren's shame he did not come from hiding until after the beasts had left his newly discovered parent for dead. With his final words his father told Warren of a cache of gems that were his birthright, and told him to use them to help others. He promised that he would.
Returning home Warren stayed a few months to help her finish readying the farm for the season, then packed his few belongings and left to fulfill his promise and avenge himself of the were-creatures that did him wrong. He has since been traveling through the world hunting down all manner of dangerous creatures so that others would not suffer the same fate as his father. Every few years he returns home to his living parent to let her know that he is doing well. He otherwise has no friends, as his passion and the nature of his work keeps him from settling anywhere for long.
Warren thinks of himself as a good person--Helping those who cannot help themselves and ridding the world of evil in the process, but he can't help but wonder if perhaps his obsession has gone too far and if there isn't maybe another occupation he could pursue that might not draw him so far down the path of madness.
