Hey everyone,

Is it just me, or the older that actor Kevin Bacon gets, the more he starts to resemble the Githyanki depicted on the cover of the 1st Edition Fiend Foliio??!

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone could explain why the new Ultimate Magic book has been delayed until July 12th on sites like amazon and Borders.com??

I had pre-ordered it on Borders.com using a good coupon and store credit -- some of us have to game on a budget, y'know! -- and while I'm used to Borders.com having a back-order on just-released items, I think that a release delay of July 12th is rather excessive!

Is this somehow due to GenCon? Or is it an effort on Paizo's behalf to give small/independent stores a legitimate chance of competing against the "big guys" by hoping that customers will be impatient enough to pay full price for this new rulesbook?

I'm not posting this to be a jerk or to start any crap, but I would like to know the reasoning behind this delay...

Hi everyone,

Here's another weapon-related question...

In the Monk's character class description, there's a fairly small number of weapons that the monk is allowed to use/be proficient in.

My question is, what happens when you're playing a non-human monk that has racial bonuses with weapons and/or automatic proficiencies in weapons that aren't on that chart?

For example, an elf character automatically has proficiency in various swords and bows which the monk doesn't normally get to use.

Likewise, a dwarf character treats special dwarf weapons (like the urgosh) as standard weapons -- would a dwarf monk still be prohibited from using an urgosh since it's not on the "sanctioned weapons" list??

Any clarification from our resident sages would be most appreciated! :-D

Hey everyone,

I have a weapon-related question for an Elven Druid character.

Normally, druids are not allowed to use bows, swords and rapiers, but Elves get automatic proficiency in them -- does this mean, then, that Elven Druids can use these weapons?

Also, I dimly seem to remember a rule -- probably from 3.0 -- saying that if a druid used a bow as a weapon, that druid would lose his/her druidic abilities for 24 hours. Does anything like that apply to druids in 3.5 or Pathfinder??

(I could understand bows being a weapon forbidden to druids, because they're often used in hunting animals/game, but figured I'd ask the resident sages around here...)

Thanks in advance, JohnH / Wanda

Hi everyone,

I'm still adjusting to Pathfinder/3.5 rules, and have a question regarding clerics and their Domains...

According to the Core Rulebook, clerics get access to two of the Domains available through their deity.

Does this amount of accessible Domains ever increase as the cleric advances in levels? Or is (s)he stuck with those Domains for ever and ever?

And if the cleric's deity offers access to multiple Domains, can the cleric abandon one Domain in favor of a different Domain (i.e., Healing instead of Fire, let's say)? And if the cleric can do this, when can (s)he do this? (For instance, sorcerers can change up their spells at fourth level -- do clerics get to do this too?)

Thanks for your time and patience with a relative newbie!

Cheers, JohnH / Wanda
