Background:
Vug Vang was born and raised in the forests far to the south. Ever since she was young, she has been interested in playing with fire and other hazardous substances. Her alarmed parents tried to provide a more constructive outlet for her energies by apprenticing her with a wizard, but she had little interest for anything but alchemy and potions. Ultimately she was expelled from the wizard's tutelage.
A disgrace to her family, she traveled far away to human lands, earning a little money by selling potions and alchemical goods. Currently she has set up shop in a mining town, making a modest living as an assayer and occasional potion-seller while using her free time to experiment with chemicals.
She generally wears work clothes with a heavy leather apron laid over top; her clothes and armor are permeated with strange smells like sulfur and various acids, and her hair is never combed. Her personality seems a little bit unstable, even more so when she is experimenting with different mutagens. But generally she's friendly and insatiably curious (notwithstanding her unhealthy interest in fire, acid, poison, explosives, etc.)
"Vug Vang" isn't her birth name; it's the elven term for "saltpeter". She has adopted it as her name in human lands so as not to bring further shame upon her family.
