Spoiler:
Voran was born into a family that was intimitately tied to the church of Garl Glittergold. From an early age, it was impressed on him the importance of showing Garl respect and praying to him. But it was also impressed on him that one had to sharp tongued and sharp witted as well, just like Garl. The day that Voran was admitted into the church for teachings was one of the proudest days for his family and for Voran.
During his training he realized that though he could learn to use many weapons and armor, he lacked the physical strength or dexterity to truly be a holy warrior for Garl. Instead his true strengths were in his mind, his wits, and his charming personality. Once his initial training was completed he was sent out into the world to spread the word of Garl Glittergold to all gnomes, raising their spirits.
Outfited by his order with basic gear, Voran's greatest treasure is the silver holy symbol that was a gift from his family on the day of his acceptance to the order. Voran was also given a wand by the senior priest when Voran was preparing to leave. The priest told him that it would be needed in order to strengthen Voran's future allies.
