The watermarker has been updated. If you have downloads that you want to be able to annotate, just re-personalize them.

Thank you! That was fast!

I presume the same permission will be set for future modules and Pathfinder PDF's?

I just purchased D1 in PDF format, and found that it's secured such that I can't even mark in the discovered errata.

Is there any reason why you don't allow commenting in the document?

There're ways around it if I really want to do it, of course, but I don't see why I have to. I run all my games online, so I use the actual PDF during play, not a printed copy of it. I _need_ to be able to mark errata and my own notes in the PDF itself.

So will the powers at Paizo relax the PDF security, or even remove it altogether? I really don't understand the need to secure such documents.

Since the first Pathfinder has shipped to the printer, I presume the PDF is ready and could be made available right now? Is there any possibility of charging our cards now so we can download the PDF without waiting for the physical books to return from the printer?

When I start the Rise of Runelords Adventure Path, I will introduce a very unpopular house rules. No raising allowed. It has always irked me that dying in D&D is taken so lightly, because of the fact that you can easily (and in 3rd ed, cheaply) be resurrected. No more. Still, it is a dangerous game, and the adventure paths has always been lethal (as the various obituaries thread cleary show). Therefore, I will be introducing some kind of action point/hero point/fate point system.

I have taken a look at the AP-system in Unearthed Arcana, but it was a tad more complex than I initially wanted it to be. Have anyone tried this with luck? Or have their own system they would care to share?

I am running Shackled City with the no-resurrection house rule, but instead of action points (which I felt were too complex too), I use the alternate death and dying rule from Unearthed Arcana. It has worked very well. No deaths so far, though they've all had to make Fortitude saves vs death several times.

I had to totally log out, add the item as guest, proceed to checkout, then login at that point, for the new shipping rate to show. But it works now. Yay!

Thanks, Gary and Vic. The reduced shipping rates are a very BIG incentive to us overseas customers. Now to see if I don't need a few other items as well...

To get the new price you have to go past the shopping cart page. Click the "Proceed to Checkout" button and the price will update. Or, empty your cart and add it back in.

I did empty my cart and add it back in, but just to make doubly sure, I just did it again and proceeded to checkout. It still shows the same $12.50 shipping charge, with no options to choose from.

I do see the new shipping options when I check out my subscription, so I'm not sure what I'm missing, if anything.

I just rechecked the shipping charge for a Critical Hits deck, and it's still the same as before - $12.50. Is there any reason a small pack of playing cards costs so much to ship? It's totally unpalatable to me to pay more for shipping than the product itself.

Want to give me a link to all these cool brushs?

Regarding the windows installer. I want them to have a file that you download and then press on and it installs the program. If that exists, then the website is the problem, as it is not making it clear.

Ummm... when I need brushes, I just google "GIMP brushes" or something like that, so I don't keep the links.

But www.gimptalk.com is a good place to start. The Resources section under the home page has a lot of user-posted links to useful brushes.

As for the Windows installer, it's 3 files instead of 1, but installation involves just clicking on the three executables in order. Yeah, I suppose they could put them into one file, but it'd involve more frequent updates when just one part changes.

I used to use both (GIMP and Photoshop) but the only thing I actually used Photoshop for was drawing of little arrows (no arrow drawing feature in gimp). Eventually I just got rid of Photoshop. It was some far out of date version in anycase.

They could do to make installing it easier however.

You can download some arrow brushes from the web to add the arrow-drawing feature. In fact, you can download heaps of other brushes/patterns that extend the GIMP's functionality considerably.

And I'm not sure how they could make installing it easier. If you use Linux, you're probably used to more complicated installation procedures than GIMP's. If you use Windows, the Windows installation involves just clicking the downloaded executables?

Did I say I fell in love with GIMP?

I'll continue using the only 2 programs I've found indispensible over the years - Excel and GIMP. Excel to keep all the data in the exact format _I_ prefer and do all the number crunching, and GIMP to draw the battle maps. ;)

Hmmm. I'd used only very basic mapping software (that often left me wishing I could do this or that) before trying out GIMP, and I fell in love with GIMP after 2 days. Since then I've used nothing else. And no, I'm not a computer graphics professional and had never tried Photoshop before.

What sort of trouble did you have, Krome?

Another yay to Varisian names.

It's the invisible birthmark on a Shackleborn. There's an illustration in the Player Handouts PDF you can download from <http://paizo.com/download/shackledCity/PlayerHandouts.pdf>.

Another vote for Raymond E. Feist.

I mostly borrow novels from the library these days, but I buy Feist's books. His style would be a very good match for Pathfinder too.

And while I'm here, let me thank everyone on these boards, in particular Delvesdeep, for the very inspiring ideas that have helped me to make an excellent AP even better for my players. My game is run as a play-by-post so it's sloooow (only got to Chapter 3 after a year), and I probably won't be able to use the excellent Demonskar Ball in its entirety, but that and the alternative Cagewrights especially have given me lots of ideas.

Thanks, Delvesdeep!

I was thinking of tweaking Drakthar's Way so that the cagewrights are basically using the PCs to clean up Drakthar, since he's blown his hand and they want to give people the impression it's nothing more serious.

I did exactly that. I set it up such that the Stormblades stumbled into the goblins and Drakthar's Way while investigating the disappearances of the townsfolk. They were all dominated, and sent out to ask about Cagewrights. So the commission from Terseon Skellerang was not to collect goblin ears (bleh!) but to investigate (at Vhalantru's behest) the Stormblades' strange behaviour. The Captain explained that he couldn't order an official investigation because their parents were too influential.

It worked out very well, and certainly set the stage for a more believable rivalry between the two adventuring groups. The twist is that they killed Annah, and I haven't decided whether to bring her back, or have something else come back in her body (thanks to somebody's suggestion on this board), or...

I don't live in Canada, but I believe Craig is right. I had this exact thing happen to me before when an overseas car rental company reversed an erroneous charge. But my statement showed very clearly the original amounts in the foreign currency (which matched), on top of the converted amounts in local currency (which didn't match).

On this note, I'd rather Paizo not reverse the early charge (which will definitely result in a small loss for me too :(), but give me the PDF of the first issue early. Yeah, I know the logistical headaches involved in such requests, but one can dream.

How about charging us when you put up the PDF, instead of when you ship the hardcopy? I certainly don't mind, because living in this remote corner of the world, I'm resigned to receiving the books a month or more after you ship them, but the sooner I can get the PDF, the less upset I'll be about the shipping delay.

And while I'm here, let me say that this is the first time I'm ordering anything sight unseen. But I just have to have some way to satisfy my AP craving beyond Shackled City. I've been moping over not having an AoW hardcover, but now I'm mollified.
