Description:
This is a tall young man with black hair bound in tight braids. He lean and well built and walks with a visible saunter. His lips are often turned upward in a half-smile and his grey eyes twinkle with humor. His oiled leathers show the wear of frequent use and exposure to the elements. He wears clothing suited for the harsh Brevoy winters and beneath his fur cloak is belted a functional looking sword. He holds a tall spear in hand which he uses as a walking stick.

Background:
Viktor Stovyet was the third born son of Lichter Stovyet. The Stovyed family are a small but respected household who have long been loyal retainers of House Medvyed. The tradition has long been for the eldest to inherit the Stovyet lands and titles while the second is sent to House Medvyed to squire. Viktor, being third, was given the same education and training as his brothers, but was given little direction as to the future his life would take. He grew up carefree and wild often playing pranks on his brothers, and was looked on by his father with rather indifferent disapproval.

Despite his lack of direction, Viktor took to his education and was a voracious reader. He loved learning reading about the history of Brevoy, especially tales of Choral the Conquerer. When he worked at swordplay, he often imagined himself leading a vast army with dragons at his back. His father tried to encourage Viktor's scholastic inclinations by hiring a tutor from Magdimar who specialized in arcane lore. While the old man had some success in imparting arcane mysteries on his charge, Viktor had a tendency to ignore topics he found tedious and spent most of his effort learning spells and cantrips that he considered "fun." The wizened teacher resigned after only a few years having had enough of Viktor's capricious ways. The final straw was returning to find his old raven familiar in his lab plucked clean of feathers and died purple. Viktor had only been trying to turn the thing into a lizard, but he'd gotten a bit lazy in his arcane preparations and must have left out a step or two. The situation was not aided by the lad trying to explain himself amidst fits of giggling.

As the boy grew older, he spent more and more time in the wilderness. Viktor had always been fascinated with the fey. Levan, the old horsemaster, was a superstitious sort and regaled Viktor with tales of mischievous pixies and seductive nymphs. As a child, he would often sneak off into the forests bordering his families lands and look for faerie rings, and even in adulthood he felt more at home in the chill under the whispering trees than by his hearth-fire.

When word went out that men were needed to explore and settle the Stolen Lands, Viktor felt the call deep in his soul. He felt this was his chance to taste true freedom and uncover great mysteries. His father had given up hope of him ever amounting to anything, and his brother's regarded him with amused derision. Lichter was surprised when his son approached him with his request. He'd never seen such a determined look in Viktor's eyes. With relief and guarded optimism he granted Viktor his approval.
