That's from well before my time. As an added bonus, I know next to nothing about the whole Planescape thing, so go right ahead.

Good thinking! According to the PRD, I'd say so:

Shadow Conjuration:

... Shadow conjuration can mimic any sorcerer or wizard conjuration (summoning) or conjuration (creation) spell of 3rd level or lower...

...Spells that deal damage have normal effects unless the affected creature succeeds on a Will save. Each disbelieving creature takes only one-fifth (20%) damage from the attack. If the disbelieved attack has a special effect other than damage, that effect is only 20% likely to occur...

My emphasis. Fortunately, Melf's acid arrow is a Conjuration (creation) spell. As the "special effect" of an Acid arrow is ongoing damage, the effect effect of disbelieving it is not that it doesn't happen, but rather that the target only takes 20% of the damage it should have. Of course, the point is just to subject it to ongoing acid damage, so that's not a problem.

Also, doesn't Gil have a scroll or three of Fireball lying around? If LB got out of the way, that could come in quite handy now.

Last action: Oso moves to S5 and burns Bestow curse to cast Cure serious wounds on Stig. 3d8+10=24 hit points healed.

Potentially important for next round: Stig has Stoneskin and Mirror image running. We forgot both last turn, but let's assume that both the fire giant and Vimanda got lucky and hit the real Stig; however, we need to factor it in from now on. Also, thanks to the DR provided by the stoneskin, Stig took a bit less damage last turn (unless their weapons are adamantine).

Elgan and his Conjured Critters. And then... their turn!

Andoran (Male Human Expert 5)

Yeah, good luck with the newish position (and with the new kid, sick wife and all that). We'll be looking for you once you reemerge.

So we're still on track with our planar adventure? Awesome!

Andoran (Male Human Expert 5)

I've bought the APG - it'll arrive with my next installment of the Adventure Path.

We'll have Bor step in and help him in a sec, I reckon the hasted minotaur should be able to take at least one wererat rogue in a round of full attack.
I think I could, if I could avoid taking 40 h.p. of damage in a round...

I've got my hands full and then some as well with that swarm of gnoll snipers. Gil seems to have a plan - I'm looking forward to seeing what it is.

Andoran (Male Human Expert 5)

It's a Forgotten Realms feat. Don't remember from which sourcebook. The craziest thing is that it's not a metammagic feat and doesn't add any level costs to the spell - AND it stacks with Augment Summoning. Nuts!

Andoran (Male Human Expert 5)

One more crazy feature of Elgan's plant monsters. Huzzah!

Andoran (Male Human Expert 5)

Yeah, I'm not looking forward to seeing what the fire giant can do with a full attack sequence. Vimanda seems to be a rather untypical rakshasa, which is always cool.

Still Of The Night

by Whitesnake. Could this possibly be the cheesiest video ever made?

I saw the Megadeth/Testament/Exodus version of the tour, as Tom was still after back surgery. The Exodus show was one of the beastliest performances I've seen in years and years; while I probably won't argue on their behalf against Slayer, they were a fantastic replacement. PS: Did Testament play the weird setlist with the entire "Legacy" album when you saw them too?

Oh, and Jeff is the scariest Slayer of them all. Which is saying something.

Andoran (Male Human Expert 5)

That looks great!

Andoran (Male Human Expert 5)

Huh. The rakshasa running into melee was definitely not part of the plan.

Andoran (Male Human Expert 5)

Having read that - perhaps you should be the global map-maker instead of me? You seem to know this stuff far better than I do.

Andoran (Male Human Expert 5)

I think Aubrey said he "looked trollish". We (mostly me, probably) extrapolated from there.

But how would she know? None of the witnesses of who actually dropped Wartyman survived - the medusa was already running for her life, Bor was on the other side of the carriage.

Besides, they were already upset -- Borok might have been a victim of a prior skirmish. Or it might be mistaken identity and a grieving mother.

Ugh. There's an option so obvious it didn't even occur to me.

One witness survived: the industrious Cornelius Brumptiou Banquat. Runzyl's prowess with the blade and the unfortunate trollish teenager's sad loss of life and limb is probably all over Sharn by now.

We really need to do something about that damned gnome.

Andoran (Male Human Expert 5)

Hmmmm.... Website's all iffy again. What the heck happened to it? It wasn't usually like this.

Andoran (Male Human Expert 5)

Hey Ithers - when you moved to Greece, did you bring any bulky stuff with you? If so, how did you ship it? I ask as I'm looking into getting work back home in Norway, and we have a full household's worth of furniture and general stuff...

Andoran (Male Human Expert 5)

Could be. I don't remember much of that, but, in my defence, I spent most of that fight bleeding and unconscious...

Andoran (Male Human Expert 5)

Or somebody cast speak with dead. Occam's Razor and all that...

I lean towards the meatball rage theory myself.

Andoran (Male Human Expert 5)

An alternative explanation could be that Gil misheard and Shaak was really talking about börek, which is a very tasty Turkish meat dish. Perhaps Runzyl unwittingly stole Shaak's dinner recently?

Andoran (Male Human Expert 5)

Gil wrote:

Gil knows Giant and shares, "Valenar, she says you killed her 'Borok'. I think she wants to dance with you specifically."

Something that just struck me - I guess Borok would be Wartyman from our fight in the trainyard. If he was Shaak's son, that could explain my confusion of what the hell he was - he coulda been a troll with the 'young' template, making him smaller and weaker.

That would also explain why the Dassk is so royally pissed.

Andoran (Male Human Expert 5)

Aubrey - sorry about hogging your map bandwidth. Won't happen again.

I like incorporeal creatures, but I try to use them sparingly as they can be frustrating to players. What don’t you like about them Vatts?

It's probably a combination of my general dislike of level/ability drain and a 'you are either there or you're not' attitude towards monsters. I have no problems with, say, phase spiders popping in and out of the ethereal plane, but the notion that something on another plane can touch you and you can't touch it back annoys me. If anything, incorporeality should be a two-way street.

Having said that, I don't use a lot of undead beyond skeletons, zombies anf ghoulish things, so it's not really a big deal.

owell.
I tend toward giants, demons, and undead.
never enough oozes. I just can't.....relate to oozes.
I probably tend to go for things out of (or that would fit into thematically) northern European mythology and faery tales ... exactly the sort of things you guys will probably be facing in Kingmaker incidentally!

For obvious reasons I play that way as well - I might not go for the explicit viking flavour, but most of my games have a distinct Northern European feel to it. Go with what you know, and all that...

The only monsters I really don't like are incorporeal creatures. I'm fine with spirits and that sort of creatures, but if they are on a different plane, they can't affect this one. Oh, and I hate vampires. Always have, always will. The hysteria around the Twilight movies certainly didn't help.

Andoran (Male Human Expert 5)

Aubrey - if you want me to stop taking the occasional turn for Gittik, just say so. I was just thinking you were kinda busy on the homefront and we were getting into a groove...

Andoran (Male Human Expert 5)

"Hah!" Gittik eyes his messy handiwork with wild-eyed satisfaction. "Who am laughing now? ME! Me am laughing now! HAHAHA!!!"

Andoran (Male Human Expert 5)

"YAAAAAAAH!!! You die now, freaky freak-girl!!" Gittik unloads on the closest Vudran weirdo.

Rage on! 6 attacks, starting with the Vudran mini-thark in D7. If she falls, the rest go against the shaitan. Important: The left-handed kukri is an adamantine weapon.
Kukri (RH):
A: 8+21+3(bard)+1(Haste)=AC 33, damage 1+10+3(bard)=14.

Andoran (Male Human Expert 5)

Um, as the designated online map-maker who completely forgot about his map-making duties, I like it. It'll be a lot easier to map squares, as we could use Excel or something similar instead of AutoCAD (my initial plan).

Andoran (Male Human Expert 5)

Sure, this one time, since I'm sitting here... ;P

"Watch this, ogres!"

5' step to J12, using Lunge and Power Attack, holding Nualia's Tongue in two hands. He's got Bull's STR and Heroism active. Attack 1: 19+15+1(haste)+2(Heroism]-2(Power attack)=AC 31, crit confirm 13+15+1+2-2=AC 27, damage 7+14+6(PA)=27x2=54. Attack 2: Attack 1: 11+10+1(haste)+2(Heroism]-2(Power attack)=AC 22, damage 8+14+6(PA)=28. Attack 3 (from Haste): Attack 1: 12+15+1(haste)+2(Heroism]-2(Power attack)=AC 28, damage 6+14+6(PA)=26.

The first attack goes agains the ogre in HI 10-11. Once he drops, Hudak attacks the one in IJ 14-15 and then, if appliccable, the ogre in HI 12-13 (getting a +2 to hit bonus by flanking with Camlo. This guy is now susceptible to being sneak attacked by Camlo). His AC for the remainder of the turn is 18.

Camlo, then Illes.

Andoran (Male Human Expert 5)

I initially thought Gittik would just prepare an attack in case they rushed us, but as it is a surprise round...

Gittik hurls a javelin at a Vudran weirdo.

No move. He only has line of sight to the one in F11, so she's the target. Attack roll 13+15=AC 28, damage 3+4=7.

Andoran (Male Human Expert 5)

As Aubrey has better things to do... Gittik's in C6. Percetion 11+8=19, Stealth 14+16=30.

Positions:
Altai: B3
Gittik C6
Tenser: C5
Claw: CD 2-3
Stig: D5
Drow housekeeper: D4
Beldan: E6
Pip: E3
Elgan F4
Oso: F3

Andoran (Male Human Expert 5)

I think we'll be fine with 6 players, especially if some retooling happens when we get our clammy tentacles on the APG. Elgan is a capable healer, and Pip can back him up.

I'm recovering from a root canal earlier today. I'm drooling and mumbling like a stroke victim, but at least the drugs make me feel sorta OK. More dentinstry-related fun coming up on Friday. Awesome! :§

Andoran (Male Human Expert 5)

It's OK, but... There's no Robin Hoody action where he outsmarts the superior foe and then makes a daring escape, and the fight scenes, though really big and well coreographed, are kinda superfluous. Nice costumes and camerawork, though.
