Personally, I really don't like the idea of a 2-handed weapon being finesseable in the first place. Would it get DEX x 1,5 damage bonus???
RE the relatively similar character concepts - why don't you have the two be relatives, or maybe trained by the same master?
EDIT: Heh. PixieRogue posted 5 seconds before me. If I were the DM, I'd disallow it, mostly for flavour reasons. Who are the (relatively) real precedents for 2-handed dervishing?
Yeah, we could use a bit of beef. Maybe a monk, as we seem to have plopped down in an Oriental setting? Elgan's a decent healer, but a tough cleric would not go amiss either.
To be perfectly honest, it would feel a bit odd to me to add anyone now - the Revenuers are Pip, Stig, Elgan, Beldan and Altai, plus whatever monstrous freaks Altai has dredged up lately.
Having said that, an extra player would probably up our posting rate a bit. There's something to be said for that too.
Oh, and the railroad doesn't bother me in the slightest. Mothers is right - we wouldn't have gotten off that barren spit of land for months of RL time...

And yes, the suit basically has to be destroyed before Gil can be targeted by anything...
Note though, the suit is immune to effects that cannot target objects. Disintegtate requires a Fort save, but affects objects... In all seriousness, am I reading this wrong if I think she's essentially invulnerable to the Ooze Of Doom?
New spells:
8th: Horrid wilting, Giant form II, Sunburst
7th: Phase door, Teleport object, Vision
6th: Acid fog, Chain lightning, Contingency
So we're facing a living Harm spell? Can it do damage to objects? If not, shouldn't Gil be able to hammer it into paste with impunity?
Amongst other things, the rod is a fun climbing tool; as Janosz is the party member most likely to go climbing, he'd benefit the most from it.
A couple of things - should Gil's Fort save be penalised by the Suit's lack of a CON score? And does the Fire Lance attack take a size penalty? Both may be correct by RAW, but they feel wrong to me...
Oh yeah.
As an aside, what happens if we bring the portable hole inside the tent? Are bags of holding and portable holes still like matter and antimatter in PF?

Did that mean no Christmas dinner?
Nothing until today, no - today we had a big lunch at my dad's. Meatballs and pork sausages with potatoes and sauerkraut, as well as lots of black bread and herring. Yum! So this Christmas wasn't a complete culinary loss.
Merry christmas, everybody! Sorry about my prolonged absence - I've been puking my guts out for the last three days, courtesy of something Emma picked up somewhere. I feel much better today, so I celebrated with a biscuit... Huzzah!

Actually, you have two wishes, as we captured Linkboy McDenthead alive. We used them to boost our stats. I don't remember the loot allowances, but it was more than 10K.
Hmmmmm.....
*strokes beard*
Iiiiiiinteresting....
Oh well. It was fun while it lasted. I fully sympathise, though.
I guess that means I can open up the AP and take a look at it!
Huzzah!
Hope you had a good one.
I'd be around a lot more if I had reliable internet at home - something we should get in a month or two. I have time, but not much opportunity, really.
They are doing really well - Erin is joining expat clubs, signing up for language classes and taking Emma and the dog for long walks. The only negative is that Emma is still operating on US Mountain time and doesn't want to go to bed before midnight.
We still need to chat with the giant wizard, but after that I'm all for hangin' with the efreet. Gotta love that City Of Brass.
Gentlemen,
Sorry about my lack of posting here - I just don't have the time and energy to keep up. My hours'll become more regular in a couple of weeks, and I'll try to get back in it then; until then, I suggest Myron should take a vacation of sorts. He's a pretty versatile fellow, so he's probably working in the professor's library by day and walking zombie patrol by night.
I just don't have the time... I'll definitely lurk, though.
Speaking of time, my wife and kid finally arrive in Norway today. I might be a bit distracted over the next few days.

Hey Heathy - are you going to link up the discussion and campaign threads properly? All the cool kids re doing it!
And, hey, there are a bunch of efreet here as well. They should be able to wish us outta here.
I really don't quite know what to do now. My first instinct is to start slinging spells, but the dwarf might be right about the entrapment effect... Any suggestions?
Oh, and I assume y'all have seen this little gem, right? I would definitely take his classes...
The relevant posts are here and under the spoilers here. Heathy should read them, too - he might have some input as well.
And, yeah, that was the route I thought we would take.
I really like my sword. After a quick look through the PHB, the Gauntlets of the ram is the one item that stands out. Beyond that, I'd be interested in any item that boosts my defenses.
He's a half-elf - so, yes. The Tide of iron power is his half-elf bonus power.
Updated! I took Staggering Smite as my new power.
Hmmmm.... I think my PHB is still in a box somewhere. I'll see if I can dig it out tomorrow. Still, what does a paladin get at level 3?
I haven't seen it. However, my brother thinks it is hilarious.
Impact Critical Shot looks right up Janosz' alley. And Hudak needs Cleaving Finish.
Just bought Ultimate Combat at our game store (it's not really a FLGS, as it isn't particularly friendly; also, these days it specialises in Magic: the Gathering and emo 'urban paranormal' novels. But I've gone there for almost 25 years, and that has to count for something...). Maybe I'll find something I want in there.
I want a Phylactery of positive channeling. However, as Vethran can't make it, I just thought I'd buy it somewhere.
Everybody - I'm sorry about my reduced posting rate. With travel time, I'm usually gone from 8 in the morning to 9 at night most days, and since I have no internet access at work I sometimes struggle to keep up. 'm pretty confident that this will improve in a couple of months, though, so please bear with me until then.

Despite having thought up a rather amusing/annoying character I'd love to try out, I think I'll need to take a pass at this. I honestly don't think that I'll have the time or energy for one more campaign. I'll be lurking, though.
I'd like some fantasy races; I probably won't play one, but fantasy games need goblin slums and poncy elves.
Oh, and don't read any Robert Ludlum novels - they are trashy, conspiracy-driven potboilers where secret masters are always pulling the strings of some ludicrous plot. Having said that, turn-of-the-century politics was obsessed with secret societies, and having a few around would be amusing.
What about... the Illuminati? (My apologies - I grew up reading Robert Ludlum novels.)
One question - "when" is all this taking place? Roughly 1800? Roughly 1900?
Aubrey the Malformed wrote: Anyone you feel I left out? Who are running things in Western Europa? A crumbling Holy Roman Empire? The Franconians, fresh off a revolution and eager to spread the word? Decadent neo-Venetians? Something analogous to the Hanseatic trade league? Swiss bankers? It might not matter in the Hindu Kush, but it certainly could influence our character backgrounds.
I have nothing to add to the mechanical ideas floating around. But I really like the proposed setting. Count me in!
What would be the most appropriate soundtrack here? This? Or this?
A "slip" is a halfling, right? Looks like Camlo's about to rewrite history.
It's OK. I'm putting in a lot of hours at work - the good news is that the job has gone from being a summer job to a permanent position, while the bad news is that it's a pretty meh job. Still, the main thing is to have a job, as Erin and Emma are arriving in a month and a half. Next on the list is finding an affordable apartment.

Do you have specific areas I can share with you? Mostly if it is a 'good book' with 'usable content'. I was curious about guns.
