About Vance Blackwinter

Vance is a tall, strongly built human. His unruly red hair is kept tamed into a ponytail, usually concealed beneath his hood. A dark grey
cloak hangs from one shoulder, a pauldron with long layered spines rests on the other. His armor is a patchwork of dark chain
dark-stained grey leather, the lower half displaying red and grey filigree patterns. The blade resting on his hip is long and slim,
single-edged dark steel that tends to shine with bright red runes and a red edge when he wields it. Piercing green eyes scowl out from
beneath the hood. The symbol of Asmodeus is emblazoned upon his shoulder, and he is very open about his religion.
Vance's personality is somewhat abrasive. He stays quiet often, but will stand very firm in his decisions. He attempts to waste as few
words as possible, and would rather let his actions speak for him. He is quick to anger, and quick to threaten violence. Abhorring chaos
in any form, Vance will not tolerate theft. He has something of an aversion to the stealthier types - rogues bother him. His style is
up-front in-your-face combat. And combat is what he enjoys, massively. His sadistic streak comes out in combat, where he liberally
applies his sword and his magic to quickly and brutally defeat his foes, laughing and drawing strength when they inevitably fall. He
typically makes references to the Dark Prince upon slaying a foe; "Another soul for the Dark Prince", "To the Hells with you!"
Despite his violent nature, Vance is essentially a team player, in his own way. He will not hesitate to leap in front of a wounded ally
and lay into their foe savagely, laughing with every wound inflicted. He keeps his ultimate goals in sight at all times - or tries to.
Sometimes, his sword is half out and a spell crackling around his tongue before he can rein his temper in. And in stark contrast to his
overt worship of the Prince of Darkness, Vance is not actually evil. Vicious, savage to the point of sadism, yes - but never needlessly
cruel, and he makes it a point of honor to protect the innocent, though he subsequently makes sure they know they are in his debt. He
keeps meticulous notes of those who owe him in any way.
Visual effects of any spell he casts manifest in dark tones with red accents, or reversed, and his casting hand typically appears
surrounded by small jagged inverted stars, the holy symbol of Asmodeus.
