I would be glad to join anyone as a guest star. Or, if anyone wants to join mine; I could write an escape from Toronto; but would like to know what city we are going to play in.

(Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 35HD)

Big spoiler if you havent read all the books dont read this spoiler. Well, ok if you havnet read the last one Ghost story or the virginettes.

Spoiler:

harry sacrificed Slade on the Table; Slade is definately dead.

Yes! Thank you! (Brain Dead over here.)

That is what I was trying to say earlier.
Fixer is the Knight for the Lady of Summer, Not the Queen or Mother, ergo he is the 'Spring Knight' (I believe that is his actual title?)

I was suggesting that since Slade is still alive, and the Queen really only wants Harry to replace him, our PC could be the 'Fall Knight' or the 'Frost Knight', directly reporting to the Lady or the Mother, not to Queen Mab herself.

Wow. It's amazing what a little caffeine will do for your brain cells. ;P

Lion beat Buc's; but wish the Lions weren't so whoosi in the fourth quarter; on first down on that last drive; just one; and they would have been in feild goal range and sealed the finish on this game. They gave the Buc's two chances to score, man that is not long term winning approach. Looked like they were sitting back on their laurels and just protecting the ball trying to run the clock out; that has bitten them in the butt more than once and almost did again. Other than that; they played so much better than other years.; woot go Lions.

I dont have it yet; but one of my buds who posts on these boards says it is totally up my alley. Says the chainsword is just gruesome; eh Balfic? Are you playing on pc or xbox or what? Wonder what the differences between game systems are....

(Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 35HD)

So is Harry still the Winter Knight, too? Am I reading this wrong; is this a knight of the winter court or THE Winter Knight. Does the game leave the books out of it; different timeline; just trying to wrap my head around it.

As for Aximeaus and guest stars, Ax hangs out in the underbelly of the world; so in the alley with the guys throwing dice late at night, taking a smoke break with guys after work; taking a walk in the park to meet a freind or have a drink and clear his head. He is the wandering hero that doesnt look for trouble; but always finds it. He is that guy who is there when you are running from something big and scarey that is chasing you through the night and need a hero; you just bump into him as he is on his way home from work or hanging with friends or just wandering to the next city or job. In a Gala type event; he is often temp help with the cooks or chefs or wait staff; you might find him anywhere amongst those nobody sees, the poor and downtrodden, as they are mostly in need and often ignored and primary targets for predators. He usually makes friends by helping out family shops and local store owners from thugs and such taking a job to sweep up around the place or stock shelves for a little extra cash. His typical job is short order cook at one of the thousands of diners around the world.

Duana wrote:

I think having the Winter Knight as a guest star is pretty standard for Duana, as she would probably harbor a pretty strong rivalry with anyone who appears to have Maeve's favor at any point.

Danny looks fun, too, from a humanizing standpoint. A spartan demigod would just be... wrong? I think for her character. And see above mention of tying salmon steaks to her neck to get a polar bear's attention. Not saying it isn't possible, but I just don't know.

(Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 35HD)

ok; PC's and company fell the big snakeman and the reduced snakeman; three left.

Start round 8; go

Colorado Springs is really pretty small; but is very close to Denver and I think the dresden book have had them go to Denver a few times. Would rather Denver as the site that included some Colorado Springs if we go that route. Otherwise the list is pretty good; any will do.

hey guys and gals; Ax i currently in Toronto having just had a battle at the museaum with wizards; fey; undead; and other things; then was with some guys lookng for a jewel thief; but to avoid police asking to many questions he is gonna hop a bus to.....

Let pick a city as a game setting. I kind of like Detroit as it is in the same lay line as Chicago and has lots of crime, murder, missing persons which could be accounted for by all the vamps and fey and whatnot; also has lake and river access for plots at the dock and enough people for ananimity and all the major sports so if your staff is a hockey stick; in Hockeytown yoiu probably wouldnt even draw comment. I dont know the city very well though.

If you want a more Southwestern flavor; I know Albuqueque really well and the local legend for the dm to create lots of stuff; lots of ghost towns and indian burial sights and 5 tribes surround the city and all that Western type stuff; old mine shafts all the way back to the Conquistedores. We have Sasquatch and La Llorona ( a vengeful spirit that takes kids in arroyos and ditches ) probably kept up as we have flash floods and loose people; cars and whatnot in ditches and even roads that overflow. And yes, we have dinosaurs; a full T rex rebuilt at our Natural history museum, there are expeditions every week to find t rex bones and other dinos; they find a lot of them here. We also have several military bases and government very high security research labs; think tanks and development stuff, for instance; everyone tests there missles here before they go to the gunnery sites in the Marshal Islands. Oh; the Rio Grande runs right through the middle of ABQ. Not big population though; ABQ and surrounding area is around a million. We do have real medicine men and cullianderas; probably spelled that wrong; and a strong church population varieous christians; muslims; buddists; taoists; and the like. UNM, the largest university is in the middle of town and there are at least three other colleges here.

oh; and we have 5 climates here; even glaciers; half the state is mountainous forest and about a third is desert and the rest are flat praerie. We also have the biggest or deepest or whatever cave call Carlsbad Caverns to the south that gm only knows what can crawl out of hehe.

just some thoughts.

(Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 35HD)

Ok; i got the bold done

I am not sure what to change, could I just be a character that has been around a while, he is about 100 years old and has fought wars around the world since WWI when he was "drafted" ie told by the judge to join the army or go to jail. Otherwise; what do you suggest, loosing my two stunts and supernatural sense?

For the GM; here is my character sheet; not everything is on the Paizo profile:

repost of character sheet
Aximeus

Spoiler:

Aximeus Auctoritus Rexis
High Concept: Wandering Demigod

Background:
No Place is ever Home
That Ain't Right so I Can't sit back and watch
Child of the Greek Gods and Orphan of Man
Fear of Discovery

Rising Action:
Warrior without a War
Noble Purpose

Problem:
Code of the Hero:
Show No Fear : thus dont get punked or intimidated; thus cant refuse a challenge to duel or anything that would imply character less than a couragous heart. Dont let Rash challenges distract from the quest or goal; thus learn when a challenge is a foil or a true test of heart.
Spartan Focus : Avoid any lifestyle that ties a person down or encumbers him from being ready and able to go into action with a clear conscious. Thus accumulation of wealth, lust, drink, sloth are distractions to avoid as over time they entangle.
Pure Heart: Work hard in menial labor for that is the fruits of strong hands to build the foundation of society; no task is ignoble if it serves society as a whole. Avoid tasks in service of questionable loyalies.
Sheltering Arm: The Strong often must use goods, property and services of society in the course of the good fight without asking; thus in return the warrior must give service to the weak by protecting them from threats out of their league be it making a bully back off, a gang prowl elsewhere or fight a monster in a back alleyway for little or no compensation to maintain a karmic balance.
Honorable Word: Only the weak break their word of honor and dance with language. Dont mince words; speak simply and with purpose, mean what you say and back it up.
Honor thy Ancestors: No man births himself; be true to your blood and honor the ancestors from which your strength and bearing come. One honors their ancestors when one honors any aged warrior in the struggle of life against time. Heroic deeds; not ignoble ones, give you the company of heroes in the afterlife when you become an honored ancestor.
Lead, Follow, or Get out of the Way: Avoid endless debate; better to act and trust fate than quibble or deseminate. Warrior as men of action; restless in peace with an eye for the next encounter. Obey when following; expect to be obeyed when leading, all else is chaos

these dice eh?

(Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 35HD)

Kurg hits a goblin for 10 points of damage
the Dwarf hits a goblin for 10 points of damage; sheesh dm is rolling hot.
Mox is still jabbering loudly in Goblineese and bits a goblin archer for 4 points of damage.

Kurg gets hit twice by goblins.
Dwarf gets hit once by goblins for 4 points.
Elsdyne gets hit for 3 points (crit no confirm)

from things thrown and shot.

Gyldyr take 3 from a sling stone.
Sunset gets a confirmed crit from a arrow in her leg; its still sticking there.
Gloisil get hit by a brick for 1 point of damage.
A ring of lumber and rocks land in a circle around the cleric who must be under special protections as the gm didnt even come close to hitting her; sheesh.

Gloisil; having burned some goblins last round; kills 6 goblins who leave the ash and char of their bodies on the stones before him.

I had rolled the durations and damage in my previous post, but they were 4 rounds unconscious, blinded, and stunned. 1 round blinded and stunned. 1 round stunned. The burning hands did 3 hp damage.

ROUND 3 -

Gloisil once again says the words that trigger the wand in his hand, "Tempus Manus."

Gloisil once again casts Burning Hands. I goofed on the damage the wand did last round. I used my own caster level instead of the caster level of the wand, which is 5th. The damage for round 3 is 5d4.

Alright, here's what i'll do. I have a RL game of In Nomine (angels and demons), that is scheduled to finish at the end of September. So that should give me time for prep work. Although i did have the start of a campaign planned for my RL group, but with the amount of games we have on it can be hard to fit in (especially if as i wanted it to be special). I also asked 'Valegrim' on the Dresden Thread in the Books forum if he would like to play in a game (as like Songdragon he was in a game that went belly up).

So i will make a recruitment thread later in the week, but the game would not start for a few weeks. This is especially important in DF as the character creation process is meant to integrate the PC's into a team. Although we will not have a complete city creation process as this is difficult not face to face. This will also enable both of you to have established your routine for other games (ie Aria's & the games you are running).

Generally i don't have to much experience pbp'ing, mostly lurking and a few pbem. Ryuko's game is my first experience of Dresden Files RPG but i play a wide variety of other systems. My style of GMing is quite free-form and players should feel like they dictate the plot. I will come up with a variety of other ideas/questions, sound good?

you might enjoy Simon Green's Something from the Nightside series; not as good IMHO, but is what I read waiting for the next Dresden book.

Raventhorn; if your brother wants to play thats fine, but so long as he is enthusiatic. As i am sure we can find enough players.

I suppose you could; but generally te repulsion eye pushes you away from the central eye so you can pretty much only attack it with ranged and spells to its front.

The thing that always bothered me was; if that repulsion eye was working; how the heck does it bite you?

Razal-Thule wrote:

My first question is. If its facing you with its main eye and you attack it with a slashing or piercing weapon, would or shouldn't you have a chance to blind that eye, or stop that eye from functioning for so many rounds? I could see blunt weapons working as well but in a different way.

Ok this question is alittle more slily but i can't help but wonder. How do Beholders reproduce? Do they even reproduce? Does one of its eye tenticals just pop off and form a baby Beholder and that grows into an adult? What would it look like. Would the baby's had just the main eye and slowly as it grows up the other eye stalks pop out of i ts body? I just cant help but wonder about this for some reason.

I dont know about Pathfinder, but AD&D had it built in. There were dungeons that had some sci fi relics in them in old school dungeons; I have a few in my homebrew as well. The cool thing is that they put in planes of existance and an infinite number of prime material planes and worlds so you could have sci fi coexist with fantasy or the realm of papers and paychecks; a modern industrial world.

with 666 planes infinite planes of the Abyss; you could really make any kind of hellish world in any genre you want. Tremble yea heroes!

(Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 35HD)

I am really enjoying this game; woot fun; been a long time since I played.

I have a couple of the old school dungeons that TSR made way back when and labeled em killer dungeons as people were complaining that dungeons were not hard enough. Think you know a tuff dungeon; I dont think there are many up there with Isle of the Ape. I always wanted to get Blackmore; but never have seen it for sale.

I just wonder what the base size of this minature is....

Ok; granted this is small on the list of suckage that heaps upon humanity at times, but still hurts my feelings.

I been working at my job in the Quality Engineering department for 11 years; our department has 10 people; I have been there longer than all but one person. So, we have a guy leaving on Friday; so someone sent out an email, but to me, inviting people from our department and other departments to go out and have a drink and wish the guy well.

the Suckage? I didnt get invited. Nobody told me about it or talked about it, granted I dont spend a lot of time at my desk; but I see everyone get up and walk out together talking about whose driving and all that and leave together; so the guy next to me who has worked in our department only a few months says; "oh, there going to the going away party, I got an email", he checks, and says ;"oh, your not on it; well, I am not going anyway."

So; bottom line; I dont get invited. I think I have a good relationship with everyone; am helpful and cheerful; never had an issue with anyone.

so; this hurts and I am telling you; it sucks.

Players and GM's that confuse in game activities with real like REALLY annoy me. Just because my character might be disgruntled with you has no bearing and doesnt mean I the player have any issue with you; sheesh.

I had offered to run a sci fi game a couple times over the years; but no takers :(

After Gloisil's fire damage, am pretty sure we will be ready for round 3; any other round two actions?

(Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 35HD)

Roll your 2d4 for the color spray duration and the 2d4 for the burning hands damage

(Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 35HD)

that works; you can also plug that space; <gm rolling>

the one right in front of you rolls a natural 20; lol; 3 goblins from their back rank fall over and you also get two rock/lumber lobbers.
The goblins next to one that saved; start laughing as the one that saved is all covered with blue, green, yellow, and red sand that sticks to him.

Gloisil Murigel wrote:
Valegrim wrote:

These are all one hit die or less

Gloisil Murigel wrote:

The goblins caught in the Color Spray need to make a Will save vs. DC 16. If they do not make the save, and are 2HD or less (most goblins) they will be is unconscious, blinded, and stunned for 2d4 rounds, then blinded and stunned for 1d4 rounds, and then stunned for 1 round. If the creature 3 or 4 HD they are blinded and stunned for 1 round as above, then stunned for 1 round. If they are 5 HD or more then they are stunned for a round.

The Burning Hands then does 2d4 hp damage over the same area as the Color Spray spell.

The area effected by both spells is a 15' cone eminating out from where Gloisil is standing. Hence the reason I wanted to be near the front, as I didn't want to catch any of my companions in the area of effect.

just a thought in case you guys think about making one.

In my experience, calendars are like art books and non-black T-shirts—they never sell anywhere near as well as most people would like to think. Plus, the fact that you pretty much have just a three-month window to sell them makes it very difficult to get the print run sized right. And any delay in the schedule then makes even the right number wrong.

My advice would be to make use of our Community Use Policy and look for one of those places that lets you make your own calendar.
