I may lack on time to run a game for the next few months, but I would definately be interested and find the time to play in a Dreamweaver game with all you excellent folks. Thats if Dreamweaver will allow it, of course. I am open to any type of character. If I can play, I will wait and see what other types of pc's there are, then fill in the gaps. Cheers Mothman wrote:
Mothman, Thank you. Coming from such an excellent gaming host, your compliments mean alot. I will have to be honest, I miss playing already. It's like sending a child to camp for the summer, and not seeing him/her for three months. I start back at work today, hence the early hour, 3 am EST. I will be wrapping up items from my current position and after my Sept./Oct. vacation, I will be starting the process of organizing my new dept. Hopefully the process will only take 3-5 months, then life can get back to normal. Possibly at that point, I will do a shout out to see if everyone is interested in restarting the game. Cheers. Thank you all again, I appreciate all of your enthusiasm and interaction in my little world. You all really helped to bring it to life. Your backgrounds and characters gave flavor and spice around the edges of Erian's Glen. I will always look back at this game, for the short span it lasted, as a fun experience with great people. Cheers Dreamweaver wrote: Congrats Utak hope you enjoy your new promotion and I was really enjoying your game and if you find you have time later Memnon will be waiting. Thanks for the game so far it was fun. Thanks Dreamweaver, Memnon was cool, and I also had his background intertwined in the plot. Ready to go after some bandits and bring down Memnon's father? erian_7 wrote: Oh man, really? Well, definitely congrats to you Utak. I'm looking at a job transition right now myself. I do hate it for this game, as it's been very fun thus far. If you get back to having the time and think on running another, let me know! Thank you Erian, I have been having fun also, and I had many cool ideas for your character's backstory intertwining with the main plot. And FYI, I feel quite guilty doing this, knowing how much time and effort you put into those maps. I really appreciate that. Maybe after I get things up and running, things will settle, and creative energy can be focused back on gaming. Cheers Hey Everyone, I unfortunately will have to cancel this game. I was speaking with the Director at my company today, and he presented me with a great opportunity. I have been pitching ideas to senior management for several months now, and with recent events, they got noticed. I will be heading up a new department that overseas all of our facilities to streamline billing and services provided. This will require traveling and administrative functions that will take up most of my current free time. I will be spending a lot of time and energy setting things up and hiring staff. This gives me the belief that I will not be able to run a consistent and quality game. I do apologize for this sudden information, but I believe this will be a good stopping point. Have faith that you have all warned the town, helped in stopping an assault that would have destroyed the town, and became local heroes. I have enjoyed the game, and I hope you have also. If any of you have questions regarding open-ended issues, or just comments in general, feel free to post them. I will still be around. It is my belief, however; that my new position will take up most of my energy. Again, it has been fun playing with all of you. Cheers Utak Valegrim wrote:
All pc's should now be at 1000 xp and raised to 2nd level. Keep in mind that your level 1 pc was buffed slightly with some extra feats. Valegrim wrote:
At the moment in these lower levels, I am attempting to keep experience awards as a group for balancing reasons. Also, I knew I wanted you all at 2nd level at this point so XP was award Ad-hoc. As you progress, xp will still be givin out as a group for the most part, if there is some exceptional roleplaying by a single individual, extra may be given, but this will be rare. Also, my favorite levels are from 3rd-8th, so xp will be stingy during those levels. cheers Valegrim wrote:
It was more like 'I was in the wrong place at the wrong time.' Don't worry, we won't be seeing the dude for a while. It is actually wierd the way I feel. I went into the office yesterday to speak with the Director. Now one would think that there would be some anxiety and trepidation, but since this occurance, I have this new outlook on life in general. Although, later on I was going for a walk, heard a car backfire, and almost jumped out of my shoes :) Mothman wrote:
Hey Mothman, Thanks for asking. I am actually doing quite well considering. This whole thing really put life into perspective for me. I will probably be back to work, at least half-days, by next week. I stopped in the office today to say hi and talk to the Director. I got new carpeting in my office. Always looking on the bright side. I think I might even be getting a new title. Cha Ching. Cheers Thanks everyone for the kind words. They are much appreciated. As Erian_7 recently mentioned, Gamers really are the best type of people. I am fealing much better. Back from a day trip to the hospital. Things look good, no infection, nothing major was affected. I am being weened slightly off the painkillers which is giving me some energy. Will be slow though since I am still using one hand to type and my left index finger to hold down the shift key when needed. I just went on a posting frenzy. Man, I missed that. I am a little worn though and will rest, but I hope to post a little info for you before days end. Thanks again for your understanding and staying with me. Cheers Aubrey the Malformed wrote:
Actually, that is how it starts. The junk wears off, withdrawal sets in. Think of your worst migraine. Then times that by ten. Addicts then need a fix to feel better, then more of a fix next time. Before they know it, the addict has a $1,000-$10,000 a month habit and will do anything for a fix. Scary world. Wow, I am always amazed at how a gaming community can come together. Thank you for your kind words. I am actually doing much better than you may think. The bullet missed anything important, and believe or not, I should be back at work by mid next week (at least for half days). Maybe I'm nuts but I love my job. I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Dragonmann, you truely are a good soul for starting this thread. My prayers go out for Lilith. To health and a quick recovery. Raises frosty mug of ale Thanks for the kind words Thanks for your understanding Hammith, I was at the hospital today for a check up. All is looking good. I most likely will not slow the game down at all. I am being slightly weened off my painkillers so I feel more like myself and awake. I can move my fingers. I am still typing with one hand, but it is not so uncomfortable any more, and I have my left arm propt on the table and I am able to press the shift key for capital letters. Thanks for your willingness to slow the game down, but now Tunk is ready to smash something. Cheers I want to thank all of you for the kind words. It looks like it could have been a lot worse. I was at the hospital today just for stitch check. All looks good and no infection. I am even being weened off the painkillers slightly which gives me some lucidity. I am able to move my fingers and I have my arm propt on the table so I can use the shift key for upper-case letters. WooooHOOOOOOO. I feel like I really have a new perspective on life. I should be around now for posting for Beren. Thanks again all for your concern Cheers. Hey everyone, I am back for now. a little earlier than expected, although i have to go back for a day on tuesday. thanks for the kind words. first things first. Erian, sorry for your family's loss. please send my condolences to your wife and family. ok, well life can change in a flash. i went to work on friday like it was a normal day. i work for an out-patient drug treatment facility. well i guess a patient was a little unhappy because he shot me in the left shoulder. it is difficult typing with one hand. if you can bear with me while i get situated, i would like to continue. my posts may be short and sporadic and at times maybe a little loopy from the painkillers, but if that can be tollerated, i have what i believe to have some cool ideas where i want to take this game. i have a few months of psycho and physisical thearpy to look forward to, but i will get the use of my arm back. close calls, alittli lower or higher, i may not be typing this right now. i probably wont really start posting untill my return at the end of the week, so if you are all still interested in playing a sporadic game for a liitle bit, i will try to take you on a fun ride cheers utak I guess at this point, I will retire Guudwyn. Havn't heard from Shamgar or Magnus for awhile. Shamgar, I hope all is well, and I hope your business ventures are working out. Magnus, I hope you are finding inspiration in your current/next painting. It has been fun gaming with both of you, and I wish you well. Cheers Hey Shiney, Looks like you are on the boards right now, hope you see this. Not sure how many more weeks you will be away, but any incite into the psyche of Brick would be appreciated. I do not feel that I am playing him appropriatly, but I do not want to sideline him either. Any info you could provide on how Brick would act in combat (ie, 1st round, 2nd round, 3rd round) would be appreciated. Favorite spells? Also, is he adjusted for second level. His profile still says level 1. I think Brick is a really cool character, and I do not feel like I am portraying him properly and doing him justice. Thanks. I am going to start working on a Barbarian, but I will leave some room open in ability scores to muli-class with either a Sorcerer, Rogue, or Cleric or some combo thereof, pending need. Are there any particular regions that are inhabited by Barbarians in your setting or any significant details? Cheers Hey Hammith, I keep coming back to a Half-Orc Barbarian, but I do not want to have a party that lacks in a certain area. So I am also considering a Sorcerer, Rogue, or some type of Half-orc brutish Cleric type. What do you think would mesh the best with the current party and your adventure ideas? Cheers erian_7 wrote: Hey Utak, is this map close to what the forest clearing would be like? The tents aren't in, obviously, but everything else looks about right. Very close. The only difference is that the grove has one main entrance. The bushes surrounding the grove are about 4-5 ft high with trees on the other side. Very nice map though. Cheers TwiceBorn wrote:
My wife, Amy, and I are very excited. We have had this planned for over a year. 11 days cruising up the Atlantic coast, Romance Suite, fine wine, and lots of privacy. I cant wait to see Quebec City. I am very interested in seeing a walled city. Nani Wahine wrote:
Also on the list. My neigbor was there a year back, and they had a great time. I wish you a great time. Also, the wedding sounds awsome. I am going to a wedding next June in Connecticut. It is my wife's friend. It is going to be a beach wedding that will simply turn into a beach kegger by nightfall. Can't wait to wear shorts and a T-shirt to a wedding. Nani Wahine wrote:
The wife and I are going to Canada for hiking and whale watching in Sept./Oct., but Yellowstone is on our list of places to see. We are addicted to the Travel Channel. Valegrim wrote: Will go back and reread all the rules now that I know that they are going to be so closely followed. I in no way meant this to be an attack; just wanted to get the note over there and be noticed Did not mean to stir up controversy. I realize that it was not an attack, but throwing a rock from 30 ft away, IMHO, requires at least some velocity and/or gravitational impact. It was a throw aimed at her ankle. I was just attempting to show cause & effect, and I was using the rules to save a PC from non-lethal damage. If others also disagree or have different POV, let me know so I can learn and DM better. Valegrim wrote: isnt a rock a simple weapon? can you get more simple; why the minus 4 as I am profficient with all simple weapons? not a big deal, but like to know this stuff for future reference. I was considering the rock as an Improvised Weapon (PH 113). Also, I was helping Lady Janas by not giving her Non-Lethal damage. I would have considered her flat-footed and unarmored by her ankle. Sounds real cool French Wolf. I think I may have to fly over to England and join you. Have fun with it and enjoy the weekend. Hammith DM wrote:
Totally forgot about the LA issue, too much # crunching. Mind's a bit juggly by the end of the week. Wouldn't mind playing a half-orc barbarian though. I think I just want something crude and destructive. Would this be better?
