I am not sure if its a good idea to ask this here or what but I am interested in purchasing Hero Lab for my Pathfinder Games. Problem is I can't get a figure on how much it would cost TOTAL to purchase Hero Lab and all the source material for Pathfinder. Can anyone help me with that figure so I can see if my wallet would survive that epic endeavor =o) Just throwing my hat in. This is an amazing program and will be using this for my Carrion Crown group which is the first AP/Group game I have ran in years. Thank you so much and look forward to watching this continue to grow. Oh and expect a donation as soon as my wallet stops smoking from the Christmas holiday lol! I have a friend who has created a first level Priest of Aroden and has a great idea about how to roleplay the loss of his god etc. He wants to brainstorm with me about his characters future and would love to make one of his characters long term goals be focused around discovering what happened to Aroden and as such would love to take the Celestial Disciple PrC part of the hole growth process. Problem is it's 3.5 and taking a look at how Dragon Disciple was converted I was hoping one of the masters of conversion might have already done this or can help me out. Any idea how to bring the Celestial Disciple into the Pathfinder Age? Sorry if this is a bit hastily written. I am just psyched at how enthusiastic my player is! Any help is much appreciated! I swear I was reading one of the hundreds of books I have one day and there was a optional system where by players could earn faction of sorts(Favor or Disfavor) with npc's or power groups etc in a 3.x system. Might have been a pathfinder book or some other but I know I saw it. Does anyone by chance remember what book it was in or if not can you suggest a good system to use for what I am looking for? All Flesh Must Be Eaten, Call of Cthulhu & Basic Roleplay system based games, Twilight 2000/2013, Rifts, Mouse Guard, Pathfinder rules with 2e Forgotten Realms Lore, Piledrivers and Powerbombs, Amethyst, Trying out Hero System - Post Apocalyptic Hero soon.. And last but not least over the past year I have been slowly piecing together a homebrew world that is very dark and gritty. Hello, I am hoping someone out there in Paizoland has extended out the Racial Paragon rules in Unearthed Arcana to 10 or more levels. If no one has accomplished this maybe someone can give me a good idea how to logically do what I am looking to do. I am terrible with the crunchy parts of a game system so I hope someone can help me out! ~UpS Elghinn Lightbringer wrote: Might want to use the Dread Necromancer for 3.5. I did a PF conversion found at mediafie.com/ElghinnLightbringer. I think its in the Beguiler to Psychic Warrior file. Why should a specialist wizard (necromancer) be converted into a Sorcerer variant? As for converting him I have converted several of my Iconics from 2e to pathfinder and it isn't too hard but somethings you will have to create rules for because they do not exist in pathfinder such as magic items. Just follow the logical progression through the character creation process; Race, stats etc then figure out how much money he should have roughly and equip him. Don't make this any harder then it needs to be. If you are attempting to make a perfect conversion dead on it probably isn't going to happen so focus on bringing the spirit of the character over to the Pathfinder system as close as possible. I have read almost all the Conan books and seen much of the older artwork as well as newer art and Mamoa doesn't look the part to me unless he is playing a young, dark skinned islander or middle eastern version.. Though I think Arnie was a bit too big for what Conan is depicted and described to look he wasn't as far off as Mamoa.. It scares me to be honest who they had as there top pics and it only emphasizes why Hollywood is having trouble getting folks to theaters. I have a feeling this is gonna be a crapper like the Pathfinder movie. As for the Conan series from 97 I saw most of the made episodes and it was perty much Xena and Hercules the legendary journeys with a HUGE guy. I think the guy at the time that played Conan was even bigger then Arnold lol! I have a regular gaming group but do to peoples schedule I end up running solo sessions and at times games for quite sometime before we can all meet again. Solo games tend to exact a high toll on me in terms of preparation and other management issues do to not having a full group. What Id like to know is how do you handle solo games and one of my key curiosities is encounter design. I think in the -PFRGP- core book it says less then 3 people subtract one from the Encounter level or whatever the exact wording is but it doesn't suggest how to go about designing a game for a solo character. Till now I just wing it and hope the player survives the encounter and so far that has worked but Id like to just be able to design an encounter the easier, standard way by building it like any I would for a full group. Anyway, thanks for any advice you might give. Id love to hear how you handle solo games not just encounter design. UpS~ My group of about 25 years has done the switch to Pathfinder and it is fairly easy. Pathfinder simplifies things to us by getting rid of or making sense outta things that always made us shake our heads in 3.x.. Your group won't regret it and here's to you and your group having another 20 years of fun with Pathfinder! GL I am not sure where to ask this and when I did a search it didn't pull up any threads so here I am. Has anyone done a conversion of the Crusader from the Tome of Battle? I have a player wanting to play one and Id really like to have a Pathfinder version or atleast one as close to the pathfinder system as possible. Thanks in advance. Next n00b question though not directly related to a PrC. The character I am looking to play will use a shield and Dwarven waraxe. Though he didnt take two weapon fighting I am still hoping to use the shield as an alternate weapon. He has an attack bonus of +9/+4 with no modifiers added(Str etc). For him to use the shield as a secondary weapon without two weapon fighting what would his attack layout look like? And thanks a ton for the responses. I have not gotten to play in over 10 years and it seems I am playing a character that none of my players has ever thought of so I am encountering some rules I am unfamiliar with. I have been running D&D of the 3.x variety since it came out but I humbly must admit no one has ever use a prestige class for various reasons. So that leads me for the first time in over 10 years with the chance to play the game actually instead of DMing it with questions about how PrC's work. Ill be specific in hopes of not wasting anyone's time. First question and at the moment the most important is Attack bonuses specifically Base Attack Bonuses. I am making a Fighter 7/Divine Champion 2. The Fighter(Pathfinder Version) has a BaB of +7/+2 and the Divine champion at level 2 has a +2 according to the Forgotten realms players guide(Yes I am mixing two systems). Does the combined 9th level character have an BaB of +9/+4 or +9/+2 or something completely different? Again sorry for such a n00b question but PrC's thought they are cool none of my players have used them for whatever reason. W E Ray wrote:
I agree with the above. It has nothing to do with an evil campaign. It has to do with childish players. . Like with many things in a role-playing game players tend to run a monster or power group etc in a totally unintelligent manner. They think in a group of power hungry evil characters they are going to constantly kill each other and never accomplish anything. This is false, for any group, evil or good, they are powerful for a reason and it isn't because they have to constantly hire new members. As long as there is a clear goal to achieve with no hints of treachery most evil groups will work towards a join goal just like any other organization with purpose. I see nothing to indicate that your character has hinted to wanting to kill one or all of the other PC's. They are just being children and likely to destroy one of there biggest weapons in there own goal to gain power, fame, money whatever. If they were trying to curry your favor so you will support them in there own schemes or some such that would make sense but just saying "We are going to kill your character.", that is childish. The actual problem with an evil focused game is it takes a high level of maturity and role-playing to pull one off. If you lack in either you can't get by on luck to have a good game. Callarek wrote:
Nope, I have many PC's that have characters that have been around for 10 year or more and no I don't fudge the rolls. My players are easy like I said because they rarely do the dumb things most do. They use there heads etc. And all my players start between 1st and 3rd level so that theory goes out the window. We resolve MANY issues with Roleplaying and none of my players start a new character without atleast a decent background story. And if they are hunting for a new spell or I have it planned there are usualy the necessary NPC's to be found. I require training of some sort from all my players characters to advance. Nothing is for free, I drilled that into there head EARLY on and I even warn new players looking to join my games "If your lazy or want to just swing a sword my games aren't for you". Like I said I am just making a suggestion and I know for a fact it isn't any more absurd then other suggestions here in this thread. OH wait maybe it is because I have no formula or tables =o) I am glad I have easy players. In my games Divine magic is granted not purchased. You either find an individual(Priest, cleric, Druid, Paladin etc etc) who can teach you a prayer or whatnot or you can gain divine inspiration in one form or another and Whalaa you can cast a Divine Spell. In the case of bards though a spell might be found on the divine list in the book bards have to go through their own process to acquire magic. We only use the spell list to find the description of a spell. Bards do not strike me as divine in anyway unless that is your character M.O... And that puts you in the above category where must find a teacher who has the favor of a deity to be able to cast a spell. My players have never complained about this rule which to us makes sense. Why would magic gifted from a god etc be on a scroll some smuck just penned. Divine magic should be more personal, not a money making scheme. It looses some of its flavor if you can purchase scrolls. And before anyone responds with but but but page so and so has a scroll costing whatever I realize my setup is a house rule but it is simple and requires role-playing. Sorry for the interruption. Just tossing out a solution that has worked beautifully for my group for the last few decades(We have done this with many incarnations of D&D and now Pathfinder).. Paizo has done so many things I love. Allowing players to actually playtest material before publishing etc. They continue the trend in my mind of a company who cares about its customers by actually putting the errata into the book instead of posting it on there site to hunt for or making you purchase a new edition of the book to get the corrected information. I can't tell you how happy it makes me to just be able to go to my Downloads page and get the UPDATED PDF! Keep up the wonderful work because you have my full support!
