Male Human, Cygnan
"As much as I'd love to stay and help administrate the temple, I do not believe my journey ends here. Besides, you gave me a ship, remember? But really what you gave me is a plethora of new horizons, as well as my youth. So no, kind host, I think I will see where this goes with these extraordinary people, if they will have me. Besides, I'm not about to let a fellow scholar rot in a dimension not of his own. That's just rude." He pulls out his long pipe and enjoys a smoke for the first time in a long time, not since he fled with Talmarran in Argos. And then he remembers that day but though as if it were a distant memory. "Argos...." he says out loud to himself.
Yeah. I'm in! Welcome back, Cori.
Male Human, Cygnan
Sylandra?!
"And how could I forget you? Your boyfriend has learned some manners I think over the years; however long it's been. Beside importance; what really matters is how you achieved this transformation. How are you tied to the Tranquil Ley, or even this planet for that matter? This whole situation is surreal enough to convince me I am now just coming off a high from some planko spice I took years back." Tyrn is interrupted when Sylandra dispersed a cranial shock. Luckily it only lasted a short-time. Even his new vigor could not withstand the debilitating pain.
Believing the tension between MOG and Sylandra has settled, Tyrn stands cautiously near the furry humanoid (Mir) he awaits the result of their engagement.
Male Human, Cygnan
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Still a pleasure to play with you all.
Male Human, Cygnan
"Forgive me. It's hard to know who is who in a world full of transhumanism..." Tyrn's attention is caught by the commotion with the formians.
"Aaaah. What's this? A metamorphosis of some kind?" The old scientist makes his way over to the alien cat-woman (Mir) and places a hand on her furry shoulder. He took a moment to examine her as well. "No worries, pussy-cat. I can see you care for your friend, but like most arthropods, they undergo drastic transformations throughout their lives. You are witnessing not a miracle, but the flawless engineering of nature. Even you transformed at some point. You are similar to quadrapedal felines of Earth. At some point, your mammary glands grew big and...." By the premature ending of his shpeal, Tyrn realized he was scratching behind the cat-woman's ears.
Tyrn could be entirely wrong, but he doesn't care :-)
Male Human, Cygnan
"Salandra? I see you're feeling better as well. Last I checked, however long ago, Talmarren had you on quite a leash." He knew now was not the time for idle chatter. Too many important things were occurring. "So did we do it then? Did we restore the temple?"
Male Human, Cygnan
Tyrn is taken back as he witnesses mere scientific theories come to life before his eyes. His old acquaintance had just vanished and transformed into what could only be an energy being. A sapient mass of pure calories. He envied Cassian's "evolution" slightly, but preferred the primal pleasures that flesh has to offer.
"Let's not jump to conclusions. I believe he is not lost. He merely exist in a higher state; a sapient being of pure energy. Perhaps in a short while he will figure out how to reassemble himself." The old scientist pulls out his pocket watch to time just how long it takes. Meanwhile, he calls out to the young desperado.
"Enough games you maverick renegade. I'd hate to have to lecture you on atmatic-structuring just to get you to literally pull yourself together."
Male Human, Cygnan
I definitely don't want to end! I think I've only made three rolls and have yet to complete update my character sheet. :-D
Male Human, Cygnan
Despite his renewed vigor, the battle took a toll on Tyrn. Luckily, he remained out of the fray for most of it, using his strategic skills to boost morale and provide tactical advantages. Though many were lost, others were saved; all knew the costs of war, the greatest being self-sacrifice. The conglomerate of Chosen that rallied to defeat a universal evil posed many implications for Tyrn's studies, mainly those of a sociological nature. The fact that so many species from distant worlds came together to defeat a common threat demonstrated that evolution favored those that cooperated; empathetic individuals received more support than those more self-serving. Evil acted against nature, and nature undid the Master as if it were a pollution.
Realizing the last steps needed to save the temple, the old scientist stood by Cassian's side, ready to aid if necessary.
"I can't imagine I will be any help. This technology is beyond me. But, it was discovered with innovation, and epiphanies can strike in a moment. I will watch carefully and see if one strikes."
Male Human, Cygnan
My two cents...
I'm more than willing to keep playing. I think now that most of the party is together, we can experience your world on a different level. But I completely understand that it has been awhile (years) and GMing is a ton of work, so I understand if you feel this is a good spot to end the game. Did you have more planned for the campaign?
Male Human, Cygnan
He is for sure. He's mega busy as well but I know he is still interested.
Male Human, Cygnan
Hey. i'm still interested in the game. I know I haven't posted in a while. Will hopefully do so sunday. Been busy busy.
Male Human, Cygnan
It was not easy for Tyrn to leave the brave soldiers to their almost certain doom, but the captain is right. The core needed to be restored or else their deaths would be in utter vain.
"I leave these beasts to you. No one will forget your sacrifices here." Without hesitating further, Tyrn took his small troop and headed for the core.
So sorry for my delay. I started up a campaign and forgot how much friggin' work it is to GM. Plus RL work and RL in general. Sorry to hear you're in the hospital, Cori. I have to say, I'm not surprised ;) What happened if you don't mind me asking?
Male Human, Cygnan
Male Human, Cygnan
Okay. I finalized on scroll scoundrel/mindchemist/Youxia. And we're lol 5 or 6?
Male Human, Cygnan
Sweet! Thanks for the clarification! And that sounds awesome, Cori. I hope everything works out for you. It definitely won't happen over night, but you'll be fine.
Male Human, Cygnan
Sorry to keep asking, but are we retaining our super genius classes?
Male Human, Cygnan
Edit: scroll scoundrel/archaeologist. They synergies very well and as much as I like the idea of alchemists, the class mechanics do not sing to me.
Male Human, Cygnan
I'm settled on Rogue(scroll scoundrel)/Alchemist(mindchemist). Cori, do we retain our super genius classes in addition to gestalt?
Male Human, Cygnan
hood boy! Excitement!
If the battle continued this way, Tyrn's army would be overrun. There needs to be more strategy.
Tyrn calls to the priest, "How close to the core?!? I will see it restored before we are overrun! We need more advantageous terrain if we are to hold them!"
Not sure what my options are. But I'm assuming we're restoring the core to bring power back to the temple.
Male Human, Cygnan
Ah yes. I forgot we are mythic in wotr. So what about our extra stuff in skyfall? Do I retain Youxia? I do not care regardless.
Male Human, Cygnan
I wouldn't mind going Gestalt in wotr as well >:-D Ninja/ranger 4 life
Male Human, Cygnan
Gestalt!?!?!?!? Do we retain everything else? Like Youxia and all of that? I'd probably go Bard/rouge or bard/alchemists.
Male Human, Cygnan
With his renewed vigor, Tyrn led his otherworldly herum through the temple, laying waste to the abominations that invaded it.
"Then our battle has only begun. Tell me, should we bring light to this Shadow, will its ranks flounder? Though we have proven formidable, it might be wiser to cut the head from the beast than sever its limbs."
So I just realized that I haven't leveled up in a while. So just to clarify, we're level 6, max hp retroactive, heroic distinctions (vanilla), other class thing (in my case, Youxia), aaaaaand.... am I missing anything?
Male Human, Cygnan
Hahaha. I have Ursula from the Little Mermaid in my party!? I likey. Me and my alien-babe army will wipe the temple clean of invaders. No worries on stalling. It just means we're that much closer to meeting up. Take your time.
Male Human, Cygnan
Tyrn felt even younger still, being surrounded by females of all shapes and sizes. It reminded him of his youth traveling foreign lands while conducting his research. He spent many nights with many women, all beautiful in their own way. Fond memories of nights where he felt completely free and unimpeded by his native culture; experiencing hallucinogens and pondering the mechanics of the universe with a warm body next to his. He never thought he'd see his adventures go this far.
Alien babes galore!!!
"Come my sweet little cherubs! Where there is music there are musicians! Let's see who's causing this racket. I will not let them run this temple into ruin!" He drew his pistol and his saber and turned toward the priest.
"Any blessings from you shall carry us further to success, good priest."
Whether blessings are received or not, the platoon of alien-babes and Tyrn follow the priest in the direction of the fighting.
Male Human, Cygnan
Male Human, Cygnan
Oh yeah. I choose to selectively release the chosen and retake the temple.
Male Human, Cygnan
He turns his attention to Aucturn...
"I'm glad you're with me, mysterious one. Judging from your performance previously, it's hard to imagine you are repulsed by violence. More mystery to be solved, for sure."
Directing his attention back to the priest...
"I think we can spare an infinite amount of time to ensure our history is never forgotten. Whether I can have your archives or not, I will see it preserved. Please, take us to the stasis chambers. We will unleash any that are well enough. With them, we will reclaim your temple. Your conduit with the gods, or be it some ingenious manipulation of matter, will be essential for resuscitating the other chosen."
With that, he gestures the priest to lead on; with pistol drawn.
Male Human, Cygnan
"To preserve knowledge and ensure avoiding a dark age, I will do what I can to preserve the temple, and escape with those willing and able to help fight the Illithid, all in time to escape with Vathiel. Lead on, priest."
Male Human, Cygnan
"This decision is very difficult... "
"Can the core be stabilized?"
"Can I release the occupants and amass a force to retake the temple? All in time to escape with Vathiel, of course."
Male Human, Cygnan
Hey Cori. I sent you a PM. I just had some questions before I make my next post. Thanks!
Male Human, Cygnan
No, taking 20 on knowledge is not allowed. Certain class abilities allow you to, but that's all. I don't think you can even take 10, unless you found something that said so.
Male Human, Cygnan
~!!!!!#@$#@#% YES! ENGAGE!
Once he saw the ship, Tyrn was silent with shock. The entire time the priest was talking, he remained quiet, listened, and looked. He never thought he would see his dreams come true. A device capable of taking his exploration beyond his own world.
"You have done more for me in this small walk than you can imagine. My research feels nearly complete with the first-hand knowledge you have bestowed upon me. You've also given me this majestic machine; I gift I could never repay you with. Consider my efforts to protecting the galaxy and upholding civility and freedom as my gift in return. I will see your objective completed and destroy the Illithid."
As the ship powered up, Tyrn refused to avert his gaze against the light. He was afraid he would miss something. Before the priest left, Tyrn had some questions to ask...
"You have already given me so much, but consider this a favor your species. I would like to have access to your archives for my research and my great project. A book, or report on your species. It will be a monument to the truth of your existence and your influence on the now human-dominated Earth."
"I also ask who you would suggest I take with me. Are you referring to the others in the stasis tubes? Are there other people in the fortress that seek escape on the ship?"
Male Human, Cygnan
Well Tyrn... you've done it again... See what happens when you release demons unto the world?!
"What is the meaning of this? And were you there the whole time!? Listen, faceless priest, we need her abilities. What threatens this facility?"
Male Human, Cygnan
Taken back by her sinister and terrifying form, Tyrn's disposition towards her regresses to "caution", but he is still willing to work together.
"Well, lets not overreact here..."
In response to their whereabouts, Tyrn tries to recollect what he knows about the solar system, (not sure if this is the universe of Golarion, or your own homebrewed one. In any case, he will roll a knowledge check to see if they ring a bell).
K-Planes?: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 13 Wooooow... so Aucturn is near Japan, right?
"I've never heard of these worlds before. But it seems you've visited Earth. We'll have to exchange travel stories sometime... but, on another topic, no, my planet was not destroyed as far as I know. My city, however... it was attacked by a psychotic nation ruled by a despot. Despite my warnings and attempts at preparation, I fear its fate is a dark one. Before I could do much, I was taken by the elves. I thought I was losing my mind in my old age, but thinking back now, it was all real. I guess I never really felt the distance from home until now."
"I advise we move quickly. You all can share with me stories of your worlds as we traverse the ruins of this once great elven facility. And if I cannot have your real name, may I call you simply 'Aucturn'?"
Noticing her interest in the tube...
"What has caught your eye?"
Male Human, Cygnan
Yeah, I'm going Ranger(Trapper) and I'll specialize in ranged combat with crossbows.
Male Human, Cygnan
Posting wtih Tyrn just to check something...
Male Human, Cygnan
Hey Cori. Still have a spot available in your other game? I'm feeling the need for some pure fantasy. Ranger Demon Hunter type of sorts... Van Helsing inspired.
Male Human, Cygnan
"My word.... What a brilliant display! You just.... You... you are amazing, my dear. Such power... such verve! I'm no stranger to magic, but you use it as if it is an additional limb. What do your people refer to themselves as? And umm... what tricks can you teach me?"
Tyrn's excitement is only multiplied with his renewed vigor. He feels 20 years younger, so his appetite, energy, and overall "mojo" are at levels they haven't been for a while. He then realizes the behavior of his other allies.
"Oh come now, friends! Power is nothing to fear. Sure she could probably decapitate you with a wink of her eye. But how about we don't give her cause to do so? There's no reason why reptiles, humans, and super demon-women can't all be friends."
Turning his attention back toward the demon-babe.
"I say we salvage the tanks. The deceased inhabitants certainly won't be needing their belongings. But before we do that, lets have a formal meet. I am Dr. Tyrn Jade; a scholar and adventurer from my home planet - Earth. Your names and what realm do you hail from? And I suppose in this situation, "when" you are from might be good to know, though I doubt any of us really have an idea, nor would it matter to each other... different ideas of "clocks" and all..."
Looting all the stuffs! Not necessarily carrying it all, but just seeing what's available on the loot-buffet.
Male Human, Cygnan
Okay, you have three PM's from me. Haha.
Male Human, Cygnan
No worries, sir. I'm a big-boy and I'm all about fun! haha. I love incorporating characters already developed into other games. Lucky for her, Tyrn is CN and has no qualms about allying with potentially dangerous naked demon-women. Haha.
What a fascinating biology these hulks possess. If circumstances were different, I'd thoroughly enjoy an extensive autopsy-
His thought is broken with the calamity still occurring in the room, and with the sudden warm embrace from his mysterious "ally".
"Hah! My dear, you are a treat! But we've only just met... And could we conceivably abandon those that share a common enemy with us? Strength in numbers and all."
Directing his attention to the tube she pointed out... "And what manner of creature is that that I should be afraid of? Regardless, I will heed your advice. You seem to have... been around."
"In a more appropriate time, I would like to know what manner of creature you are. For now, we should assist our scaly friends. From the sounds of it, we may need them."
Tyrn will attempt to engage in combat with the other hulk by flanking him and dishing out another sneak attack, assuming the demon-babe allows him. I will await the next post to see. Also, you have a PM from me.
Male Human, Cygnan
Sorry for the wait, my friend. Been busy for me. I started running a zombie-apocalypse game in recognition of the holiday, so that + school = Forgetfulness. Sorry if my post if short, I figured it'd be best just to get him moving a long without much narrative. It's a battle anyways, so it doesn't really require one.
Tyrn rolls to his side and gets to his feet (move action) and attempts to plunge his sword into the hulking humanoid's heart.
Expend round of Arch. Luck +1. If my memory serves me correct, I should have 5 or 4 uses left.
Attack: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 8 + 1 = 18
If 18 hits this mofo while he's flat-footed, then he can suck on...
DMG: 1d6 + 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + (5) + 2 = 10 ....THIS!!!
Anti-climatic.... :(
Male Human, Cygnan
Ditto that! Sorry my friend. The idea sounds fun but I think it would be impractical of me to take on another game.
Male Human, Cygnan
Haha. LOVE the photos. They look sick. Thanks for pitting me against them!
In a quick moment to escape this monstrous creature's fatal grasp, Tyrn employs a strategic means of escape; remembering his martial tricks he learned in his travels and an indepth understanding of the humanoid anatomy.
I believe his +1 for Arch. Luck still counts this turn, unless it's a fresh round. If so, then just subtract 1 from the total roll.
Escape Artist: 1d20 + 13 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 13 + 1 = 30
SICK! Suck on that, fart-face (talking to the enemy). Hope your kid feels better, sir!
Male Human, Cygnan
SCHWING!
Tyrn initially thought he was under some enchantment, but the stomping of the warjacks sobered him. The presence of this woman filled his mind and heart with fond memories of past romances, abundant and ephemeral, as they were.
He shook his mind free of his own lust, and focused himself by assessing the situation.
You know, Tyrn.... you just may have been right on this one, though I know nothing of this creature. This enticing form she has taken seems only a ruse; less her form prior was the ruse in truth. There are many magics capable of such feats.... still, perhaps a contingency to escape her company is in order, if she were to turn violent. Never face an enemy you can't understand!
With that, he said in haste...
"Believe me, love, I would provide you with service in bed for the rest of my twilight years. Sadly, we're faced with other obligations. Sorry your wake was so dis-"
Tanks fall on warjacks and such....
Without hesitation, Tyrn darted for the prone warjack, raising his Qin sabre high to gather enough strength to cut the automaton (is that correct? or is it flesh?) in two.
Tyrn charges at the prone warjack. He also gets sneak attack, and he expends a round of Arch. Luck+1.
CHARGE!: 1d20 + 8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 8 + 2 + 1 = 12 -2AC for one round.
DAMMIT!! A GD NAT 1!!! Does he have a stroke? ;)
Male Human, Cygnan
I'm still here and interested in the game. Things have been crazy. Cassian, I'm in town. We should get together for a little bit.
I'll try to post this weekend.
Male Human, Cygnan
Yes! My demon-babe plan worked.... as far as I know. Haha. This may be a curse in disguise. Nice post, Cori. I'll get one in tonight after work.
Male Human, Cygnan
Finally able to post! Crazy-ass summer.
Tyrn cast Vanish (2/4 1st lvl spells used) again and makes his way to the demon-babe's tube. His next turn, he will release her :) Just gotta create a little chaos. Who knows if I'll survive these warjacks.
In Tyrn's invisible state, he thought to himself as he moved through the room over to the fierce looking woman's container.
So, you're really going to do it, old man? You're really going to release her? You cannot conceive the power she may or may not wield.
But that is why I should release her. The odds of survival would be within our favor if I release her, even if she turns hostile. With the serpent folks' debilitation, I would be the only one bringing a fight. Odds are, this creature is in our proverbial boat, and would slay our enemies before slaying her allies. That would be us, Tyrn.
Right. Well, it seems you've made your choice. Lets just hope it doesn't bite you in the ass.
His next turn, he will release the she-devil. <3 CN. Also, he is not a schizo by any means. He just, to a high magnitude, argues with himself.
Male Human, Cygnan
Yeah, my bad, Cori. I'm still in, of course. This have been crazy up here with work and school approaching. I think Saturday will be my post-day.
Male Human, Cygnan
Aaah! Sorry, my friends. I've been busy lately and such. I'll just roll my initiative for now, if that's okay. I'll do details later during my round in combat.
Initiative: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Hot damn!
