Intimidating Prowess:Add your Strength modifier to Intimidate skill checks in addition to your Charisma modifier.

This bonus to damage is increased by half (+50%) if you are making an attack with a two-handed weapon, a one handed weapon using two hands, or a primary natural weapon that adds 1-1/2 times your Strength modifier on damage rolls. This bonus to damage is halved (–50%) if you are making an attack with an off-hand weapon or secondary natural weapon. When your base attack bonus reaches +4, and every 4 points thereafter, the penalty increases by –1 and the bonus to damage increases by +2. You must choose to use this feat before making an attack roll, and its effects last until your next turn. The bonus damage does not apply to touch attacks or effects that do not deal hit point damage.

unsure of the nature of the summons in his will, but believe he may have listed you as a possible heir in thanks for saving him from an untimely demise.
Your ability to think quickly on your feet has stayed with you, and you quite often feel that you’re in the right place at the right time. You gain a +2 trait bonus on Initiative checks.
Courageous: Your childhood was brutal, yet you persevered primarily through force of will and faith that no matter how hard things might get, as long as you kept a level head you’d make it through. You gain a +2 trait bonus on saving throws against fear effects.

Background:
Born in 4691 AR, Torsten Olæsson hails from the town of Losthome in the Lands of the Linnorm Kings, the expansive and savage territory on Avistans's northwest shores. A hulking child from birth (his mother proudly boasting that she was unable to recover from the birthing in less than two months), Torsten's youth was spent similarly to other Ulfen male children, in contests of strength and skill that constantly prepared the participants for a life in the unforgiving north. Torsten excelled in these contests, although he rarely took joy in the winning of them. Oft times Torsten could be seen just at the edge of the ring of fir trees that provided a windbreak against the whistling winds of the outside world, staring into the seemingly endless hours of late daylight. No boys were foolish enouogh to tease young Torsten about this, though - the first few who tried were sent packing with prominent welts.

As he grew older, he grew taller and stronger, and when the time came to choose a weapon in which to train, Torsten quickly selected the greatsword, as it's massive blade and enormous grip was best suited to his almost freakishly broad hands. He proved a quick study, and although he was not Losthome's most proficient young warrior, he held a respected place in the unspoken pecking order of the younglings.

The blow that broke the mammoth's neck and made Torsten leave Losthome concerned his older brother, Frømund. Frømund was also a highly regarded warrior, the greataxe his weapon of choice. When Torsten turned 17, his father succumbed to an injury he sustained in the logging camps in the Grungir forest. After his funeral, Frømund assumed the leadership of the household. Late on the third day after his father's death, Torsten crept out to his customary spot on the edge of the town and stared out into the fading daylight. Although he was shamed by it, this time he wept for his father, a man for whom the giant had great respect and love. His mourning was interrupted by his brother, whose voice rang out over the icy wind.

"Your weakness is a disgrace, brother."

Torsten turned, his eyes still red with tears, to face his brother.

"You are my brother, Frømund, and although we have never accounted ourselves close, I will give you one chance to rethink those words before I kill you with my own hands."

Frømund laughed, boisterous peals of mocking derision that cut Torsten to the bone. His vision turned red, his breath began to come in great heaving gulps, and his ears heard only the crunch of his boots on the snow as he sprinted toward his brother, who in his revelry did not detect Torsten's approach. Torsten tackled Frømund and began beating him ruthlessly. Frømund eventually worked the fight around, though, and was gaining the upper hand when Torsten managed a crushing head butt, breaking Frømund's nose. Torsten rolled on top of the older man, his hands around his brother's throat, choking the life out of him. As Frømund gasped for breath, Torsten simply...let go. He stood, leaving his blood brother rolling on the ground in pain and gulping breaths. He walked briefly to the house they shared, kissed his mother, grabbed his sword and the chain shirt that all younglings of Losthome were given, and walked out of the city. "When I return," he said aloud to himself, "I will hold the head of a linnorm."

For the next two years, Torsten wandered from town to town, working as a bouncer or laborer as needed to pay for food. He never had the knack for surviving off the land that his people valued, but his mammoth frame served as a deterrent to violence in many situations, and in this way he forged a meager living. His travels carried him through Irrisen, it's unnatural winter urging him on into the Realm of the Mammoth Lords, a land that reminded him more of home. It was while travelling through this area that Torsten made a most unusual acquaintance.

One morning, Torsten was walking over the open plain when he spotted one of the nominal mammoths native to the area. The creature was enormous - six times or more Torsten's not inconsiderable size - and it was focused on a man standing 150 meters away. The man seemed to merely be standing, observing the giant creature. Instinct told Torsten that the Mammoth was agitated at the man's presence, and he quickly leapt into action. He began to scream a wordless battle cry, sprinting toward the surprised man at the same time. The mammoth pawed the ground, turning it's attention to the barbarian in preparation for a charge. Just as Torsten reached the curious man, the animal began to gallop toward them, the ground almost shaking from it's tremendous force. Torsten swept the man into his arms, barely noticing his weight in the midst of his fear and anger at the man's foolishness. The speedy barbarian quickly put distance on the mammoth, who didn't bother pursuing the two outside of it's territory, and Torsten set the man down, ready to berate him. Instead he was met with a curious sight. The man wiped dust from his tunic, and extended his hand. "Petros Lorrimor. I'm very pleased to make your acquaintance, young man."

Upon recovering from the uncontrollable bout of shaking and the weak feeling that often accompanied the end of one of his "episodes", Torsten learned that the man was a professor from the nearby territory of Ustalav, and that he had been studying the mammoth for a treatise he was composing on the topic.

Torsten bristled. "You nearly got yourself killed today, Petros. Hopefully, you have seen enough of the mammoths to know that they are far from a safe topic of study."
"I have indeed, my boy. What is your name?"
"I am called Torsten Olæsson."
"Then thank you, Torsten Olæsson, for saving my life..."

Torsten accompanied the Professor back into the land of Ustalav, where he took his leave from the older man. He spent a little under a year serving as a gravedigger, almost forgetting the chance encounter that brought him to the country. His sword began to rust from disuse, and just as Torsten considered leaving the country again in search of other work or perhaps adventure, he received a letter...
