His voice is quite smoky which seems to come from an old scar on his larynx.

Torald Othric of Griffonstone was born on 29.05. 32 summers back, as the first-born of chevalier Othric of Griffonstone and of lady Freya of Griffonstone, both living in Zaradene.
His father Othric is a rich trader, who married into the poverty-stricken family of Griffonstone by marrying Freya.
Toralds mother Freya of Griffonstone is the only daughter of chevalier Øgmund Torge of Griffonstone, who had already feared to be the last chevalier of Griffonstone and only for that reason he agreed to the marriage with an comman man.
In early age, Othric commited Torald to the care of the church of Paladine. Othric as an clever trader hoped to benefit from a son in the clergy.
And so it happended that Torald moved to the temple of paladine with an cleric named Gudrik as to be teached there according to Paladines will. After 6 years as aspirant, he reached his 16th and was consecrated to an novice. But the high priest saw in Torald not only a devoted servant of Paladine but also a bravely fighter of Paladine and thus he
issued that Torald would be commited in the hands of Sigurd Hohenlohe to serve him as an squire of the crown.
A few weeks before, Torald accompanied Sigurd on an journey to the plains of dust to examine some rumours about an small group of centaures which raided travelling merchants. But it came not s thought. Even before they crossed the borders of the plains of dust, Sigurd felt ill. 1 days later he wasn't even able to hold himself on his horse. Torald tried to nurse his knight in the wilderness, but all his efforts were not successful. 3 days later, Sigurd of Hohenlohe breathed his last.
Torald build a simple stretcher to transport his knight between their two horses back to their last visited garrison.
