Male Dwarf Monk/2

I miss this game. You guys were and still are awesome. I apologize for falling off the face of the earth.

Did I die honorably?

Male Dwarf Monk/2

Tok stand still for a moment, the thrill of battle still coursing through him. Taking a moment to center himself, he finally notices that he is alone in the room. He hurries to catch up with the others.

Male Dwarf Monk/2

Tok attacks the back of the Tiefling attacking Merax.

Attack 1: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19 for 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Attack 2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12 for 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Male Dwarf Monk/2

Tok takes aim at the Tiefling between him and Merax. He attacks with a flurry of elbow attacks.

Attack 1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 for 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Attack 2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21 for 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Male Dwarf Monk/2

Tok attempts to kick at the standing tiefling.

AoO Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12 for 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

Stepping to flank the Tiefling, Tok moves and attacks with a flurry of fists.

Move to (-E,1) and Flurry.

Attack 1: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12 for 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Attack 2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10 for 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Male Dwarf Monk/2

Tok removes the bolt from his arm and feels Caldazar's healing embrace close the wound. To ensure that at least two of them doesn't fire their crossbows without paying for it, Tok rushes to the other side of the room and prepares to attack at the first available opportunity.

Double move action to (-F, 2).

Male Dwarf Monk/2

If possible, Tok will step into the space vacated by Caldazar and attempt to strike the dog with his fists.

Attack 1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20 for 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Attack 2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18 for 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

Also, can I see further into the room thanks to my dwarven eyes?

Male Dwarf Monk/2

Tok sneaks back to the others and reports back. He whispers, "There are four of them, playing some type of card game. They seem to be unaware of our presence. How would you like to proceed?"

Male Dwarf Monk/2

Tok whispers, "I can see just fine. Let me go ahead and see what we're up against." Tok continues to move quietly forward toward the sound of the laughter.

Male Dwarf Monk/2

Tark:

Are the voices coming from behind a door or just up ahead somewhere?

Male Dwarf Monk/2

Tok readies a couple of shurikens and allows his eyes to adjust to the darkness - he pays close attention to his surroundings and for anything out of the ordinary.

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
Stealth: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23

Male Dwarf Monk/2

Tok nods and begins swinging the hook. Taking aim he heaves the grappling hook upwards.

Strength Check 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19

Do I need to do a different check?

Male Dwarf Monk/2

How difficult will it be to scale to the top of the building in question?

Male Dwarf Monk/2

Tok grabs a CMW. (If that's ok.)

"So who will scale this building? I can give it a go, but I have no climbing gear - or skill for that matter."

Male Dwarf Monk/2

I'm thinking flowing monk. Tok's graceful, right?

Male Dwarf Monk/2

So, Tark, what's your thought on adapting our characters to reflect the new archetypes in UC?

Male Dwarf Monk/2

"Are the Children ready for this? Should we spend more time preparing with them or simply push them into the fire and jump in after them?" Tok avoids Mathalen glances - he doesn't feel that she is physically prepared to do battle yet, but doesn't want to embarrass her.

Male Dwarf Monk/2

"That would take far too long, wouldn't it?" Tok asks, completely missing the jest. "No, I can handle myself if we need to take the roof path. Is tonight the night?"

Male Dwarf Monk/2

"The surprise will be if we pull this off. I'm sure you've all heard countless stories of dwarves scaling rooftops and leaping down upon their unsuspecting foes." Tok says, pausing. "Yeah. Me neither."

Male Dwarf Monk/2

"Is there any advantage to going at night, then?" Tok asks, ignoring Pollux. "Would there not be some element of surprise in going during the day?"

Male Dwarf Monk/2

Tok will accompany Ruttle to his place of business. Seeing the state it's in, he says simply, "So we'll be starting our business from scratch?"

Working with Mathalen, Tok is uncharacteristically patient. Though the physical toll is weighing on her, she is showing exceptional mental capacity. After a particularly painful training exercise, Tok says, "Your mind is strong. Your body is...disappointing. Fortunately, that is preferable for the path you are considering. The body can formed, the mind is far more difficult. I am an illustration of that reality."

I too am ready to regroup. We'll assume that Tok didn't earn any scratch this week.

Male Dwarf Monk/2

Tok, following Ruttle's lead, spends much of the week with Mathalen, teaching her some basic unarmed fighting techniques. When he's not with Mathalen, he looks for work with Ruttle's assistance. He realizes that he has to be careful not to raise too much attention to his skills or techniques, as there are few Dwarven monks roaming the streets of Westcrown. This reality does hamper his job search quite a bit.

When not with Ruttle or Mathalen, he returns to a small commune of clerics and priests of various faiths in a very poor section of Westcrown. He stays in a shared room with several others, but mostly keeps to himself, meditating and training.

Male Dwarf Monk/2

Tok stows his gear and looks uncertainly towards Ruttle. "I am still in your employ - though, apparently, the nature of what that looks like has shifted. Do you still desire my assistance in your future ventures?"

Tok is ready for downtime - but he doesn't really know what that will look like yet.

Male Dwarf Monk/2

Yes. On the way, I will share the basics of who the Master is to Mathalen, assuming she is with us.

Male Dwarf Monk/2

Tok is completely confused by the proceedings. "I don't want to hear this fool perform," he says as Pollux is shouting.

Seeing the rest of the crew making their way out of the stables, he follows as quickly as he can.

Hey guys. I'm really sorry - it looks like I won't be able to post much until Sunday. I'll be back, though! Feel free to GMNPC me until then. I'd like to request that I be alive when I get back, but I understand how these things go.

Male Dwarf Monk/2

Untrained Knowledge Local Check: 1d20 ⇒ 1

Tok has no idea who this man is and watches and listens as Caldazar approaches him. To no one in particular, he says, "Why does it seem that people are the kindest to those who are so undeserving of it?"

Male Dwarf Monk/2

Tok is encouraged by Mathalen's enthusiasm. He speaks almost gently with her as they return the horses. "The Path of the Master is not easy. But it is well-traveled. If you follow in the footsteps of those who have gone before, you can achieve greatness. Tell me, do you desire to be a student of the Master?"

Male Dwarf Monk/2

It's incredibly fun to not know anything about what's coming. I'm just along for the ride!

That said, are you ok with my taking the Drunken Master down the road? Like next level?

Ruttle, I suppose you and I need to discuss how to get our little venture off the ground sooner, rather than later.

Male Dwarf Monk/2

As for Tok, I can't imagine that he would ever take a brew like that. He only drinks water and eats very simply. It would be a stretch for him to drink that.

Unless, of course, I adopt the Drunken Master archetype (which I'm considering). Then, he'll drink anything.

Male Dwarf Monk/2

You can't win over everyone. I'm sure, in time, Tok will come to adore your crazy antics. But you're quite different than the stoic monks he encountered in the monastery...

Male Dwarf Monk/2

"It is better to endorse them?" Tok shakes his head in disbelief.

Male Dwarf Monk/2

Turning to Ruttle, Tok asks quietly, "Why do our companions lavish such praise upon the crazy?"

Male Dwarf Monk/2

Tok nods. "Tok Goldfist, student of the Master, and...uh...other partner of Ruttle and Goldfist."

Male Dwarf Monk/2

Tok watches Pollux gather flowers and shakes his head. "Are we ready to be off, then?"

Male Dwarf Monk/2

I concur. Pollux, your brand of crazy is simultaneously entertaining and off-putting. I love it. I can't wait to continue this soon. You guys are awesome.

Male Dwarf Monk/2

Ah, I didn't realize it was family he was so opposed to visit. Poor guy.

Male Dwarf Monk/2

I saw on the OOC thread that Tark was going to be on vacation this week, so we might be taking the week off.

Male Dwarf Monk/2

Tok helps heft the bodies of the unconscious enemies into the carriage. "You think that one who got away will be able to describe us? Or, you lot rather. I'm not sure I can be disguised."

Male Dwarf Monk/2

Tok wipes his hands on his scarf and moves to the back of the carriage by Ruttle. "This is who we bled for? I was expecting someone more...inspirational," Tok says. "I suppose his words are stirring."

Looking at the bound man, he asks, "Arael, I assume?"

Sense Motive Check: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20

Male Dwarf Monk/2

I'm sorry, but who are we fighting now and where is he on the map?

Male Dwarf Monk/2

I'm sorry - I'll do non-lethal at this time. And my bad for the rule flub. I forgot about that.

Male Dwarf Monk/2

Current Status: HP 12/18

Grappling with the armiger, Tok attempts to land two more knees to his foe.

Attack 1
To Hit 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12 for 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Attack 2
To Hit 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21 for 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Male Dwarf Monk/2

Seeing his immediate foe fall, he turns his attention to the other armiger and attempts to grapple him and then damage him with a knee strike.

Grapple Attempt (No AOO - Improved Grapple feat)
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19

Follow-Up Flurry Attack
To hit 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 for 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Male Dwarf Monk/2

Doding the Armiger's blows, Tok strikes back with a flurry of his own. WIth the first attack, he attempts to stun his foe.

Attack 1:
Stunning Fist (1 remaining today)
To hit 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20 for 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Attack 2:
To hit 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10 for 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

Male Dwarf Monk/2

Tok follows Caldazar's lead and flanks the other side of the carriage. T17ish

Hearing Caldazar's voice crack at his intimidation attempt, he tries to do the same thing.

"There is no need to spill your blood today. We simply want we have come for. Stand aside."

Intimidate: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (20) - 1 = 19

Are you freaking kidding me? And now I won't be able to hit a thing if it comes to that.

Male Dwarf Monk/2

Tok will conceal himself in the bush just south of the bridge. Do you want me to do a stealth check?

Male Dwarf Monk/2

Tok prepares his shurikens, wraps his scarf around his neck and nods towards Ruttle.

I'm ready, too.

Male Dwarf Monk/2

Ha! I appreciate your restraint.

Male Dwarf Monk/2

Turning back to the strategy discussion and away from Pollux, Tok says, "I too would like to be as near the carriage as possible. I don't want to be late to the skirmish because of my size."

Male Dwarf Monk/2

Tok is taken aback by Pollux's offer. "On second thought, perhaps we should train after our task is complete. I would hate for any of us to be damaged by our own hands when we will likely receive some damage from the Hellknights."
