Shadow Lodge

6 people marked this as a favorite.

I blame Aroden. ;-)

This does sound awesome though!

If this is for Dragonlance, why not make him a minotaur? The bad guys seemed to be far less speciesist than the good guys on Krynn, I seem to remember.

It sounds like you'd be in a weird rules spot if you could yank a ghost back into the real world. Do they come back as human with a body? Die instantly and may or may not become a ghost again, possibly now or a hundred years from now? Become a ghoul? If it was a PC, are they now an NPC? What of their items?

Ghostbane Dirge does just this for incorporeal beings. Sadly, incorporeal seems to be different from ethereal, otherwise it would be a nice answer for the OP.

so I was reading the measurements in Ultimate Campaign for the actual city. 1 district is 9 greater blocks. 1 greater block is 4 lesser blocks. Each lesser block is 750ft long, making the district 1 square mile. Now my math is garbage, so please tell me if I'm doing this wrong.

Lesser block is 750. Greater block then is 1500ft. 1 side of district is 4500ft. Multiply 4500 with 4500 to equal... 20,250,000ft. Pretty sure that's a bit bigger than a square mile (5280)

Been looking for errata or something, cause now my head is hurting.

A mile is 5280 feet long. A square mile would be 5280 x 5280, or 27878400 square feet.

Edit: Ninja'd :-)

Is there any chance we'll see a release or playable demo of Obsidian's digital adaptation of RotR at Origins or GenCon? I was hoping for a snippet at Paizo Con, but any information would be great. I'm moving this summer and will have to stop my game mid-campaign for a couple months and I'd love to have RotR on my iPad.
Are we talking about the next step in the tradition of Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights? I've been barking hopefully up this tree for quite some time!

That would be awesome, but given the sub-forum this was posted in...

Sacred Fist Warpriest works well as a dip, since your flurry progression won't be slowed. Plus, having Abundant Ammunition can save you a bunch of money very quickly if you like using specialty arrows.

The Deadeye Bowman trait for worshippers of Erastil (Inner Sea Gods) can also be nice for any archer.

I think it's like watching certain movies. As long as everyone is aware that your watching a movie where cavemen fly around on pteradactyls with eyepatches defeating space aliens wielding laser beams & sock puppets, then everyone is going to have a good time. If one of the people thought they were in for a retelling of Tolstoy, then there might be some issues.

My first encounter with RPG's was definitely on the more imaginative side, where rules & dice rolls didn't matter so much. I love playing Pathfinder now, but I'd agree with the OP that every oncein awhile it's fun to stretch the rules & just have a super fun time.

No, having a ki pool from monk levels does not in and of itself change any of your ninja abilities. You would have a WIS based ki pool from your monk levels, & a CHA based ki pool from your ninja levels, though.

The thought had occurred to me, but I wasn't sure if you could use natural weapons as an unarmed attack. Plus, the character is going to be getting claws at level 8. Are they a monk weapon?

The claws would not be monk weapons, as I understand it.

Since you're a ninja, most of your damage is coming from sneak attacks. Uins claws as secondary attacks in addition to your regular attacks gives you more opportunities to sneak attack. Putting claw blades on may not be the best option, since it changes them from natural attacks to manufactured weapon attacks. AOMF to enchant your Unarmed + natural attacks may be a better option for you. That way you can full attack, & add your two claw attacks on the end for more sneak attacks. With the recent rulling that one can UAS with the same limb more than once, if your gm lets you do unarmed strikes with your claws, you get the enhanced unarmed strike dmg from unarmed combat mastery, & the d8 sneak attacks from using claws. If not, you're still in good shape.

Shadow Lodge

I think the unarmed combat mastery ninja tricks are being underrated here. Getting Imp UAS & monk lvl -4 uas dmg progression can be useful, especially when using your claws to do the unarmed strikes in order to get those d8 sneak attacks from the Vicious Claws trick. Or mixing regular Unarmed strikes with d6 sneak attacks, followed by claw attacks as secondary nat weapon attacks with d8 sneaks on them.

The witch put it to sleep as soon as it attacked. Then they tied it up & coup de gracied it into oblivion.

Seven Branched Sword would like to have a word with you...
Are you suggesting that Gtrip activates when using the Seven Branched's ability?

I believe it's that the sword's ability makes a trip attempt, but doesn't knock the target prone when successful.

Shadow Lodge

I'll second Beastmaster Ranger as a viable option. You still don't get the animal companion till lvl 4, but you have a lot more options to choose from when you do get one.

Just scroll down till you find the ninja guide.

I think the first question to ask yourself is what kind of ninja do you want to be? TWF, THF, Ranged, or unarmed? That choice will affect all your feats & other choices.
