Backstory:

Born to Thane Erdmand Trygstad, Tholan was born a noble child in Thelkon. When his father failed to deliver the number and quality of slaves he had promised to House Rudianos, Tholan was taken as a hostage to ensure that future shipments would arrive with the correct quantity and quality. From a young age, he showed substantial aptitude for combat, despite his clouded eyes. Furthermore, he had an unsettling tendency to predict the near future in dreams. This led him to be somewhat rejected by most of his peers. The Master-at-Arms of House Rudianos took special interest in his training, however, and his prowess with swords earned him some grudging respect. He earned the nickname 'Drolleye' both for his limited vision and his odd sense of humor which earned him several punishments as he grew up. Though he has always been provided for by House Rudianos, he was never accepted as a family member.
