Theras, completely unused to the subtle signals the group uses, turns around in confusion as Kyren begins to play the beautiful piece. The song brought up memories of the week while they traveled through the vales of southern Andora (sp?), beautiful rolling grasslands dotted with small villages and farms with sun shining and a gentle breeze cooling off their fevered skin as he and Linora-

And like a record cutting off suddenly Theras focused on the rapidly changing situation as the giant cat pinned the strange snake creature the ground and growled. "Uh..."

No he's not stupid. Just not used to this group. And I love cutscenes brought on by outer stimuli at the wrong times.

Seeing that situation with the small creatures was in hand Theras walks over to more closely view the walls. Anyone who walks near hears him muttering about about Runelords and statues not being right.

"If you would like we can continue this discussion another time. I just remembered that I've seen pictures like these in a book I studied long ago when I was preparing for my initiation into the church. It mentioned how organized religion first began with the worship of those called Runelords by the people of Thassillonian Empire. That name seems familiar..." Theras trails off, his mind going back to the lectures of the dour and stern Father Tulley who had first instructed him.

Suddenly the situation at hand snaps the knight back into the present and he steps into the room. "Who's there? If you are a freind step forth and show yourself!"

The knight looks back at Berry and when he speaks his voice has taken on the tone of a patient teacher. "The very act of it's birth required the murder and corruption of another person's soul. For all we know that person ran it's own shop and donated to a local troll orphanage. I am sorry if you find that creature's death offensive to your sensibilities but when evil rears it's ugly head, I am the shield and the sword that protects the innocent. Even if they don't appreciate it."

Theras catches the big cat's look and flicks his sword to get the blood and gore off. "There are some laws that transcend all others. That creature's very existance is brought about by murder of another. Justice is served. And the lawless city above us has nothing to do with that creature. A soul was destroyed to give birth to that monster." he finishes, looking at Berry.

He turns and looks at the room the monster had been trying to get in. His eyes narrow as he scans what appears to be a religous depiction of some sort.

Theras inches up in front of Berry, his glowing blade and shield held ready. The only thing visible through his helmet visor was his vivid green eyes and they burned with holy wrath. "Ioamadae does not suffer abominations!"

Theras's voices echoes from inside his helmet. "If the guardians of the dead have reasons to be wary, we should take heed." he says. A moment later he leans forward and moves Jinx away from the railing of the bridge with a gentle hand on the goblin's shoulder. "Be careful. It's a long way down."

Theras lowers his shield to the ground and resting against his knee then begins to gather his hair up and tucking it under his helmet. Once that was secured only a small portion of his face was visible and when he picked up his shield and unsheathed his glowing blade he looked every bit a gallant knight. "So if you would have me, I find that traveling dangerous halls is always better with boon companions. I understand if you want to practice caution as we have just met but may I propose an alliance for the purpose of exploring these halls?"

Tucking his helmet under his arm, Theras grasps Vaughn's hand firmly. "Truthfully I do not know this...extremely friendly goblin here. Or the strange feathered creature who just ran off. My captain received an urgent request from the Duskwardens to send any who could help with some of the problems stemming from down here. Our forces are stretched thin right now with all that goes on in the city but as I am recently arrived from Mendev he thought I should get my first experience with this...unique area. I had a tricky time convincing the Pharasmans that I should be allowed down here but I managed." he said, giving an impish grin and shifting his large shield a bit.

He releases Vaughn's hand and pulls a steel pendant from under his white surcoat. The pendant was identical to the symbol on his shield, a downward pointing longsword with the hilt and crossguard surrounded by the outline of a sunburst. "Be healed by the light." Theras intones. The holy symbol flashes white just the like sword had and a wave of gentle white energy flows out twice in a ring from the cleric.

He releases the symbol and looks around, checking everyone's wounds.

"So I came down her expecting quite a few fights but found evidence of a group of people who came down here before me. I followed the tracks and came across the remains of several...interesting fights. Then I found you in the middle of a battle. And here we are." he finishes with a wide smile.

The fullplate clad figure sheathes the glowing sword and tips forward enough to pull the helmet that had obscured it's features off. A mane of fiery red hair that glints with naturally gold highlights tumbles out from under the helmet and parts to reveal the smiling face of a handsome human man. He has aquiline features with eyes that shine with the colors of emeralds and not just simple green. He has the dusting of a dark red beard that looked in need of a shave and his skin, while not reflecting light, still shone with something other then the sweat that covered it. "Fair greetings my freinds! I am Knight Seargent Theras Toidarian of the fifth circle. Iomedae bless this meeting and I must ask, are any of you hurt?"

The armored figure brings the sword up to it's visored face and begins to chant in a strange language.

Iomadae goddess of valor and light I beg of thee, ward this armor.

Cast Magic Vestment on my fullplate. 26 AC with shield for 5 hours. Is it possible for me to move to AT 31?

"We can do introductions later my freinds but for now I beg of you to trust my good intentions. Iomadae surely foresaw this moment and your need for us to cross paths and I will aid you in this fight!" The figure says taking a firmer grip on his glowing blade and broad sheild that proudly displayed a downward pointing longsword whose hilt and crossgaurd were surrounded by a golden sunburst.

Never played a character with intimidate and diplomacy before. Should be fun.

Suddenly from behind the group (AP 30) a powerful and deep voice calls out, "Iomadae heal these worthy warriors that they may fight evil another day!" as a tall figure in gleaming fullplate and a crimson cloak raises it's glowing sword. The sword flashes once before a wave of soothing white energy explodes from the blade and washes over the group.
