@ Imbicatus - that sounds like a wicked build! But, we are trying to stay away from flying (for game balance reasons for at least a couple levels). Plus, we will have 3 melee/front-line combatants (druid is focusing on wild shaping), well technically 4 because the rogue/barbarian has an animal companion. So, things will be a little crowded.
@bbt - outsider HD, so I will have 3 HD. The other characters have a 25 point buy, so I will have that as well. (The backstory is that he has been redeemed by the church of Sarenrae). Overall our party is 3rd level and by delaying some quasit abilities (like flight) this character should fit well.

This character actually will take the place of another character of mine who just died in Thistletop. Our party is currently a rogue 2/barbarian 1 (thug), magus 3 and druid 3.

Right now the character won't have any class levels (when he party gets to 4th he'll get his first class level), but I'm wondering what to take?
I'm thinking of something divine because that goes with the Sarenrae saved background, but don't see any synergy. Rogue is an obvious choice because with invisibility sneak attack will be a tremendous help (and probably the only way to do damage because tiny weapons suck). Sorcerer would be very beneficial for he arcane access. From a RP perspective being an oracle or cleric of Sarenrae would make sense. If there is a way to combine sneak attack + divine spell casting that would be great.

Wondering if I should go arcane trickster? My goal with the character is support, stealth and scouting. Regardless of class I plan to max out UMD because wand/scroll use will be very helpful. Direct damage isn't he biggest goal but obviously doing some damage will be helpful.

Also, he will be taking the leadership feat (per our house rules you only get 1 cohort, no other followers) and will have a human cleric of Sarenrae so that should cover some divine magic in a few levels.
I appreciate any advice on this unusual character!
So, thanks to a great DM open to new ideas I will be playing a quasit character in our Rise of the Runelords campaign.
Our fledgling group is about to get off the ground. There are currently 3 of us (potentially 4). We have a GM (always the rate limiting factor, it seems). To give you an idea, we are all between 30-45, males. We all work, have jobs, are in relationships. We are looking to start what will hopefully become a long-term, regular, weekly campaign. Ideally we'd like a total of 4-6 players in case people can't make it some weeks. We hope to have other people who are laid back, cooperative and enjoy a combination of role-playing, combat and exploration.

We are going to be starting a new game/campaign in a few weeks. We will be playing on Wednesdays probably from about 6-10 pm, most likely at my house in Dublin. We will playing through an adventure path, but not sure which one at this time. Our group is pretty savvy with PF so I expect we will be allowed to use most sources/races/classes (GM has last word, of course). Not looking for min-maxers or power gamers (people who are trying to break the game), but no bias against people who know how to make effective characters.

If this seems interesting, let me know. We'll figure out a time to meet and say hello, both make sure the other person isn't an axe murderer, and see if we're on the same page as for what we're looking for in a game and what we consider a fun time.
Hi all,

Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but in the discussion of damage/blaster bard it seems that thundercaller is hands-down way better than sound striker. You get SONIC damage first, then electricity damage later.
And, you don't have to roll to hit EVER. Using lingering performance and an average charisma you will literally have dozens of rounds of use.
Plus if you pick a race like aasimar (with a favored class bonus of +1/2 higher level for a given bard performance) you can be doing good damage earlier and earlier.

I think this would be great for a caster bard. My only question (to anyone who can help) is what do you do until 3rd level when your abilities kick in? It doesn't make sense to invest in weapon/combat feats because once you can thundercall you really don't have to attack with a weapon ever. Use a whip or net? I think aid another is not appreciated enough, so that's one choice to help in combat.

Appreciate the advice. (And if it's relevant, I'm thinking of specifically using an aasimar thundercaller. With the alternate racial trait that gives flight 20' this could be very fun!).
This is a great guide, thank you!

I live in the Eastern Time Zone and was looking for either a weekday game ideally.

Also, I have almost all of the Adventure Paths (and have only read through Second Darkness, as I heard so many bad reviews I figured I would never play it). I'm happy to provide a copy to a willing DM.

I believe the idea is for VTT (like roll20). If everyone else is thinking PBP I will humbly bow out (it takes weeks just to get through one combat).

Anyway, here's to hoping! Thanks, Chris, for starting the thread.
Hey all,

I just moved to the Columbus area (Dublin) from Cleveland and am looking for any local groups. I love Pathfinder and would love to be part of an adventure path (I have almost all of them so I could provide it to a GM).

I'm a 35 yo guy who has been playing D&D for the past 25 years or so. Have played from 1st edition through 4E. Overall, I think that 3.5/Pathfinder is my favorite - great combination of player options, role-playing elements, and fantasy feel.

I'm a dedicated player to whatever group I join and like to have a well thought history for my characters. I like games with a combination of intrigue, puzzle-solving and combat (I like to kill things as much as the next guy!).

Anyway, without making this sound like too much of a personal ad, hit me up if you're in the area.
Hi all,

I've just read through the gameplay thread and I have to say - you guys are making this a lot of fun! Please feel free to read about my character background, history, etc. I've read about how you all know each other in this discussion thread. And there are a couple of ways my character could fit in - since he traveled from his home he could have met up with many of you on the way to Sandpoint or he could just be the new guy.

My alias has personality in it but to expound - Beagan is a solider. He is also not a young man. (I was actually going to make him middle-aged to reflect this but didn't want to min-max so I put him right at the threshold). Essentially he has seen and lived war and is very serious about his mission. Sometime she is gruff and talks about naivety but he is not a bad or evil person by any means. He has seen evil, he has fought it and he doesn't want to give it a chance to win.

Anyway, I'm excited to be a part of this.
Hey all! I appreciate GM Dak giving me the opportunity to fill the role left by White Crow.

The one thing (well not really the one thing) I was bad at in 3.5 and also now in PF is keeping track of the best magic items that could be useful. I would assume there is some relatively low cost magic item that can give like +10 to perception checks and such? It would make sense for us all to pitch in and just have the Corporal use it because he has the best perception.

Speaking of...any other group items we should try to plan for? With the use of strain/injury we are much less dependent on a healer and now that we have Zahar we have some better healing magic too. Still invest in a Wand of CLW (useable by both Olo & Zahar)? The reason I say that is because we are only on the first level so getting back to the town is not too bad. As we go deeper we probably want to extend our time underground.

I have a concept for a gnome summoner synthesist that I would really enjoy playing. If you are taking applications on a first come basis I don't think I would have it ready in time, but certainly by this weekend.

About myself:
1. Can post at least 2x/day on weekends (usually more) and at least once/day on weekends. If I know a combat is going on I try to be a little bit more vigilant.
2. I think I'm dedicated to my games. I just recently got into PbP after being tired of not having a group in real life. You can check my aliases for the games I am currently in and my play style.
3. I will admit that I have played RotRL up until 8th level (I think we were in the second book) in real life before I moved away from my group. If this is a problem, please let me know and I will recuse myself. I don't plan to be a party face or scout so I don't think it will intrude too much.

I have only read the background intro info on the PF page about the adventure paths for games I am considering playing in. Reign of Winter and Shattered Star both sound fun so I've generally kept away from them. I think maybe I should just download all the player's guides - just enough info to whet my appetite without ruining anything. I have no interest in playing Kingmaker so I have actually been reading through that path. Skull & Shackles also doesn't interest me (I am totally on the Ninja side of the aisle!) to the point I haven't even read the general background.

Like Zeltor, I try to not read ahead of anything I might want to play which has thankfully paid off. I have a copy of Rappan and keep saying I should just read it because I'll never have a chance to play. And then there was Alice.... ;)
Thanks for the explanation of Second Darkness without ruining it. That does not sound very fun to me at all....

Hakaru opens his eyes just as the first rays of light emerge in the sky. Even though it was his day off, the months of work had left his schedule as such. He turns towards his most valuable possession to double-check himself. Ah, yes. ""Aerodus." . He smiles to himself, a handsome face full of white teeth looks back at him. Too white for a commoner and a guard. Why didn't I notice this before? He continues to look in the mirror and his teeth yellow slightly. Much better. With a day off, that usually meant one thing to the kistune - "shopping" and exploration. Though he had been in the city for some time, there was still much to learn and many people to see....

So lost was he in his thoughts that it took him a few minutes to see it - the card. As he read the message his pulse quickened Finally! Today will be fun. I must prepare myself. And it has been too long since I have seen Raina... Hakaru changes into his normal "street clothes" and then glances in the mirror again - we can't have the city guard stealing on the streets of Korvosa . His appearance changes to a slightly older, out-of-shape, balding man, non-descript in almost even way except for a slightly large nose.
DM-Salsa, thanks for the feedback. After reading what everyone wrote and thinking about it, I think a Kitsune bard would be the best way to go with the archeologist archetype. That takes the singing/performing part out (which was a concern) and also seems to be a good rogue/bard combo class. As far as how he got to Korvosa - I literally imagine it as part of the kitsune rite. The pull out the map they have of the known world and someone picks where he has to go to prove/make himself. The idea of the rite is that after living there for 5-10 years successfully you have proved yourself and then come home as a hero.

Plus, I was just imagining all the incredible fun I could have with the bard spells.

I already have his feat selected (Realistic Likeness), so I will go searching for some good traits that buff my disguise/bluff checks.

Thanks everyone for indulging my questions - I'm REALLY excited to play this character! Will have the cruch/background fully ready in the next day or so, sorry if I'm holding things up.

@Alice - I can still be the person who finds you so our characters can still have a connection. Given my character's personality, popping up here and there would be even more in character.
Welcome Vrash - look forward to gaming with you!

Perhaps I got lured in because Kitsune has a rogue archetype assigned with it. I guess that and the extra 2 skill points/level plus sneak attack.

I have never actually played a bard before (even though I've played since 1st edition)! I will start taking a look at some builds (DM-Salsa is it okay to use the Kitsune) and archetypes.

Your arguments make a lot of sense... I think from a RP perspective I was thinking rogue because singing/performing and bringing attention to oneself is the opposite of this character is about - he is about blending in and disguise. But, it seems that the archeologist archetype takes care of that.

I literally envision the character as a "trickster," relying on his skills and wit more than spells (but then again he can change shape!). I guess it is easier for me to see sneak attack as helpful....

I just reviewed the bard spell list - wow. Even the cantrips are awesome and perfectly aligned with what I envision. I would miss the "Kitsune Guile" ability from the archetype (add Int bonus to bluff, diplomacy, etc).

DM-Salsa - what's your input? What do you think works better? What might some of the other player's play?

You're definitely right that overlapping skills don't hurt.

I still plan on having a high charisma, probably charisma = dex, then int. I plan on maximizing bluff, diplomacy, sense motive, stealth, perception and some knowledges. My feats will likely be non-combat in nature. However, it would be a lot of fun to have two rogues because we can flank each other and set up some pretty nice combos (teamwork feats).

I was going to send a send DM-Salsa a PM about my concept but given we're all on the same team and it makes sense for the other players to know (even if the characters don't) I'll just give the background here:

I want to play a kitsune rogue (with the Kitsune Trickster archetype). The idea is that he was born in Tian Xia, but even at birth they recognized he would be "one of a thousand faces" due to his naturally black fur. Growing up he was exceptionally crafty and showed tremendous skill in deception (Realistic Likeness feat which is essentially Alter Self at will without ability bonuses). When he grew to adulthood, he was chosen for the honor of "The Great Lie" in which a kitsune travels far and proves that he can fully integrate himself into another culture, living as one of the native people. My character was sent to Korvosa. There he uses his shape-changing abilities to see how he can integrate into the human society. He begins following a young man (employed by Lamm) who seems to travel quite a bit through down, encountering many people. His goal is to learn customs, ways of interacting, etc. However, this young man one night is beaten and killed. It was too late for my character to intervene (overwhelming attackers) so he takes it as a challenge and assumes his likeness. He begins to live as this young man until he himself is jumped, beaten and left for dead. This leads to the happiest day of his life - his skills were obviously so good he was mistaken for him! Yet he also needs to find who did this and why? He assumes a new likeness and gets a low-level job with the Korvosan Guard. Something that can give himi access to different places and people and allow him to conduct his own search for information all while living a new life and practising a new identity.

I could still have run into Raina and found the connection with Lamm which is why he still keeps contact with her. (Let me know your thoughts Alice). Anyway, this would be a lot of fun to play from the deception/trickery angle
So after looking at both the bard and rogue, I think my charisma/face character would be much more playable (and actually useful in combat) is I played a rogue. I know initially a few people had mentioned rogue-types. When Riddelwrong started making someone I had assumed it would be a charismatic/party-face type character (why did I assume that? Who knows?).

Anyway, the other concept I had in the back of my mind which I now want to throw out there is for a charismatic bard/party-face. Since this is an urban campaign I'm excited about the chance. He would be very skill focused and low magic (looking into the archetypes right now).

The background would obviously be different than what I envisioned for a cleric, but the interaction with Raina actually wouldn't need to change at all (right down to the fake ambush).

The Player's Guide assumes we all have a dark past (and I would work that into the character) but I actually want him to be good, optimistic and have a sense of humor. He is the "eyes and ears" of the group. He would not be the most effective in combat to be sure.

Stats would be:
Str: 10, Dex: 14, Con: 10, Int: 14, Wis: 12, Chr: 16

@Alice - great character. I read the background and like how you worked it in. I was thinking we would know each other this way (open to your opinions or course): My character (as yet unnamed) finds you in an alley broken and bruised because he has been keeping track of Lamm and his whereabouts. He takes you back to the orphanage and drops you off at that doorstep. As you heal, you see him from time to time in public places throughout the city, but you two never get a chance to speak. You find knowledge of the local boxing/wrestling scene from a crumpled up flier that is left for you at the orphanage (later to discover from my character). Some time after you have immersed yourself in your training as you are coming back to your small apartment you are almost ambushed by a man in a hooded cloak. Your skill and senses prevent it and you easily pin the man who you discover is the same one who saved you years ago - my character. He laughs as you are ready to snap his neck, "Good! Good! Now we are ready to kill Lamm!" ..... As far as what the relationship is between our characters from that point, how we interact, what we do I'm open. I certainly don't want to make it seem like my character "made" your character but an interesting way for us to interact. I also want us to be similar age because I don't want this to be a master/student thing and certainly not a romantic thing. I haven't actually played with one so I don't know how it would turn out. What if fiery burst were changed to a ranged touch attack or even a ranged attack? How about Storm Bolt the same way (ranged touch or ranged attack)? I think that would take care of most fo the issues, right?

Regardless it won't come into play until either 3rd level (fiery burst) or 5h level (storm bolt). DM Salsa - if you're worried about balance we can just forget about it altogether. I'm excited enough by the ascetic archetype which seems well balanced.

The other idea I was thinking strongly of was perhaps taking the eldritch heritage line of feats or even multi-classing cleric/sorceror (empyreal bloodline) then going to mystic theurge PrC. My character could then cover the "spellcaster" in our group. Plus, this completely goes with the character's history of self-reliance.

Also - congrats Alice on the scholarship!

Edit: I re-read through the eldritch heritage feats and they require a Cha 13 and are a little to feat intensive to be worth it.
Also here is the text for the reserve feats I mentioned (none of them apply or can be chosen at first level). I wouldn't take all of these, but just something I am thinking about. To be honest, only Fiery Burst may even be worthwhile because of the cleric spell-list. May allow me to be more "blastery" and also would be fun with the self-reliant concept. The idea is that as long as you have a spell in "reserve" that you don't cast you can use that stored magic to create other effects:

FIERY BURST [RESERVE]
You channel your magical talent into a blast of fire.
Prerequisite: Ability to cast 2nd-level spells.
Benefit: As long as you have a fire spell of 2nd level or higher available to cast, you can spend a standard action to create a 5-foot-radius burst of fire at a range of 30 feet. This burst deals 1d6 points of fire damage per level of the highest level fire spell you have available to cast. A successful Reflex save halves the damage.
As a secondary benefit, you gain a +1 competence bonus
to your caster level when casting fire spells.

SHADOW VEIL [RESERVE]
You draw wisps of darkness across your enemy's eyes, obscuring the
world around him.
Prerequisite: Ability to cast 2nd-level spells.
Benefit: As long as you have a darkness spell of 2nd level or higher available to cast, you can obscure the vision of a subject within 30 feet as a standard action. If the subject fails a Will save, it treats all other creatures and objects as though they had concealment and takes
a –5 penalty on Spot checks for 1 round.
As a secondary benefit, you gain a +1 competence bonus
to your caster level when casting darkness spells.

STORM BOLT [RESERVE]
The electrical energy contained within your magic rages inside you,
begging to be released.
Prerequisite: Ability to cast 3rd level spells.
Benefit: As long as you have an electricity spell of 3rd level or higher available to cast, you can fire a 20-foot line of electricity as a standard action. This bolt deals 1d6 points of electricity damage
per level of the highest-level electricity spell you have available to cast.
As a secondary benefit, you gain a +1 competence bonus
to your caster level when casting electricity spells.

WINTER'S BLAST [RESERVE]
The frozen magic within you can burst forth in a hail of
frost.
Prerequisite: Ability to cast 2nd-level spells.
Benefit: As long as you have a cold spell of 2nd level or higher available to cast, you can create a 15-foot cone-shaped burst of cold. This cone deals 1d4 points of cold damage per level of the highest-level cold spell you have available to cast. A successful Reflex save halves the damage.
As a secondary benefit, you gain a +1 competence bonus
to your caster level when casting cold spells.

@Alice - maybe our characters can know each other? I like the idea of my character running into yours right at the point she is beaten and left for death. It would work well for him "returning" from the Vaults and ready to go find Lamm. He runs into someone with some tell-tale sign of Lamm's assault and thinks "never again - not one more." The self-reliance of your character would work well because of the same self-reliance of my own character. I imagine he (unnamed as of yet) would find her and instead of coddling her and nursing her wounds would be more of the, "Get up. If you die, Lamm wins." Let me know your thoughts. Not sure what our day-to-day activities would be but I'm open to it. Plus, I'd still have a connection with Tusilak (darkness) for when we run into him (or maybe I already know him at this point). Apparently the boards were down last night between 9:30-10:30 when I was trying to post up my character (did anyone else have that problem).

Anyway, the character is listed under my profile - Vistis Horn. Everything is complete except the eidolon which I purposefully left unstatted for now depending on GM/group input. The way my character history is written, the eidolon is based on a serpentine form and more of a "monster." However, given the horror element of the setting/campaign I could easily make his eidolon form either more demonic (actually thinking about the creature on the cover of the Carrion Crown player's guide) or even werewolf-like. I don't know if that is considered too stereotypical but it might be more fun for role-playing purposes.

The serpentine form would allow me to focus more on stealth, scouting but also decent combat whereas the biped (demonic or werewolf) would be more of a brawler. I see the group has a lot of great damage potential and tanks(cavalier, paladin, barbarian).

Also, if you take a look at my spells, I am open to changing those as well. I have to take rejuvenate eidolon otherwise I have no way to heal myself. Infernal healing is a good, guaranteed 10 point heal out of combat which could free up the cleric, or I could substitute with grease or other battlefield control.

So, I am definitely open to input from the GM and players.

As for me as a player: I'm in my early 30s, playing D&D since way back when it was 1st edition but happily moved on to 3.5 and PF (don't like 4 at all). I am committed to the games I play in. I was in a weekly real-life RotRL campaign every week for 1 year (then we moved). Prior to this I played an email RPG for 2 years until one day the DM disappeared (I kid you not). Currently I am playing in a PBP campaign of Rappan Athuk and hope to get into another fun, committed game (I post under the alias of Olofire Stargazer if you want to check out my play-style and commitment/posting frequency). Unless I am on vacation or out-of-town for work (and I will give ample notice) there is a 100% chance I can post everyday and about a 95% chance I can post 2-3x/day. As far as my play style, I personally like to get along with others and design my characters the same way. That's not to say that they are all LG push-overs, but we are engaging in collaborative story-telling. It makes sense for our players to have common goals and trust one another since we are literally putting our lives in other people's hands.

Couple questions I had about the game - are you allowing 3.5 classes (thinking of Warlock, Dragonfire Adept, Swordsage or Binder) or is it just PF? Any psionics? For character creation purposes, what would be the purpose we are in Varisia (and where would we be)? Finally is there any stuff from Advanced Race Guide that is allowable? I just really want to play a dwarf with different (or no) stat adjustments that moves 30'/round! (Have a great concept for a dwarf monk/ninja).

Like I said, the patron really could be anybody/anything. As a player I know about the Far Realm but really what does a 1st level character know?
I will get the name and backstory written up this weekend along with some kind of picture.

Also, I realized that I could use a similar story and creature an Oracle of the Dark Tapestry (which was my other idea anyways).
Thank you for the clarity. I did read the kingmaker game thread before reading this one and that's where my initial confusion came in. However, this is the thread and the game I am interested in! So, the rest of the post applies. This teaches me a lesson not to post after spending an hour putting a baby with a fever to sleep....

@Alice

Thank you for the prompt feedback. I know that some ideas don't work well with every group or DM and to be honest I have not played either #1 or #2 before (though I have played a swordsage and that was fun) so how this translates into game balance is questionable.

In this case my idea is the following:

A neutral half-elf Witch with the bonded-witch archetype (because I hate keeping track of familiars).

His background is this:
After staring at the stars for 10 years, the stars have begun to look back...

Essentially he was somewhat of an odd child. An outcast due to his dual-heritage who spent nights staring into the sky, looking for something - meaning, escape from his current life. Somehow this attracted the attention of a creature from the Far Realm who became his patron.

The character is not crazy, he is not insane or illogical. Instead, he has a patron who provided him a conduit (via his bonded item) to power and whispers to him - advice, suggestions, patterns among the night sky, knowledge. Always subtle and not quite with direction he doesn't know what to make of it, but he knows it has changed his life forever.

He will maximize curse effectiveness and also choose healing spells. His reason for traveling and choosing to explore an area that has essentially killed everyone else is based on these whispers from his patron who suggests a more direct way to communicate and expand his knowledge will be found.

So, nothing particularly exciting regarding class/race but I like his background and I think it gives him a realistic motivation to go dungeon-delving. Also, the true nature of what he will find (is his patron evil? What is it exactly? Is he supposed to be opening a portal to the Far Realm?) is in question. I leave that up to the DM to decide.

(Thanks again for pointing out my error and giving me a chance to correct it!)
@AdamWarnock

This looks like it is going to be a great game and it seems a lot of people are interested with a lot of exciting character concepts. I know that all the players will be voting on characters, but to me it makes sense to talk about play style and give a little background.

So, about me:
1. Early 30s, playing D&D since way back when it was 1st edition but happily moved on to 3.5 and PF (don't like 4 at all).
2. I am committed to the games I play in. I was in a weekly real-life RotRL campaign every week for 1 year (then we moved). Prior to this I played an email RPG for 2 years until one day the DM disappeared (I kid you not).

It makes sense for our players to have common goals and trust one another since we are literally putting our lives in other people's hands.

As far as my character I have 3 concepts in mind which I will describe in order of preference (because I'm not really sure what will be preferred or allowed).
1. Shadow Sun Ninja (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=226356) this is a homebrew variant of the Swordsage from Tome of Battle. ToB is 3.5 but with a few very mild changes this class is ready for PF (for example, change HD from d6 to d8 and update skill list). In this case I would play a human but with a mild tweak (darkvision, will adjust other traits accordingly based on Advanced Race Guide). I have a wonderful back story that meshes the class features of light/dark. There are also a LOT of great homebrew disciplines (which seem well balanced) that make this class a lot of fun without breaking it. This would fill the sneaky/skill/attack role. If you are not familiar with the whole maneuver system then I would want to play...
2. Human Synthesist summoner + the Eidolon master archetype (http://www.necromancers-online.com/articles/BestinClass/2012/20120402.html ). Essentially this gives up spellcasting to focus on the eidolon. My goal here is to play him as shapechanger.
3. Finally if you (and I mean the DM and my fellow players) say hey, that seems too strange or game-breaking or bizarre I would want to play either an Elven Oracle of the Dark Tapestry or a Witch.

I guess my submission is a bit different than the others as I'm submitting myself as a player with the promise that I will bring dedication, experience and comraderie to the table.

Alright, enough writing. This is starting to sound like a personal ad!

Good luck everyone, sounds like whatever the party ends up as will be a lot of fun.

EDIT: I also wanted to say that I am open to making a shared background or otherwise explaining how two of our characters met or know each other. Sometimes it is fun to risk your life with a friend rather than strangers you meet in a tavern! :)
HOLYCRAPOMGTHISLOOKSAWESOME!!

True, I'm new to PF and haven't played one yet, but I like them.

I've been looking through the threads and the great class guides but I didn't see discussion of this idea: Dual-cursed oracle 1/witch X

I wonder if the dual-cursed oracle is worth it for the following reason:

Misfortune (Ex): At 1st level, as an immediate action, you can force a creature within 30 feet to reroll any one d20 roll that it has just made before the results of the roll are revealed. The creature must take the result of the reroll, even if it’s worse than the original roll. Once a creature has suffered from your misfortune, it cannot be the target of this revelation again for 1 day.

From my understanding there is no save, so there is no concern of DC because of that. And this power could then be used as the basis of the misfortune hex/cackle etc. The character would be built exactly as a witch (as far as attributes, race considerations, etc) but with the level dip at 1st level.

Is this worth it (for someone who wants to play a very hex-based witch)?
I like witches. True, I'm new to PF and haven't played one yet, but I like them.
