In other words I am trying to add flavor, not realism. :)

Your sistem is great and people tend to go (and expect) for the fantasy on a game table, for reality, you can turn your tv on and watch the news. I, on the othe hand, like realism a lot in my games, IMO thats where it is the flavor, to create something that really could be used in a real world.

But, as you said, calculate the rate wich each material would be excavated, sold, and all the other long process to make it into a real thing would be too much, then I assume that the goverment likes to keep gold as a reserve and coins are made on other metals. My view in this is just because if you make gold so popular that you can have a coin made of it, a golden sword/armour or a robe with golden stripes along the edges would just lose its glamour (or ots +2 to awesomeness =P ).

Wicht wrote:
I was imagining them at about twice the width and half the length of the silver. Though IIRC gold is heavier than silver so the coin might end up being smaller.

Thinking about it, would be kinda creep to hear, "Hey lad, give me 2 fingers and one nail"

It could be used by necromancers, thou.

Great topic, but I disagree with a few things (small and insignificant ones, but Ill introduce them in my game).

The whole shape of the coins is somethign really great but why are the coins really made of the material that they refer to? Gold Piece being really gold, Silver, really silver... etc, that would be a real burden on the city's treasury, afterall the... (I forgot the english word for that, so Ill have to brag along) weight of money is not really on the paper or the coin, its in the stocks of precious metal they have in (today most nations use U$ Dollar for that) so, why not make them all copper pieces with different values?

Take, for an example Dark Sun's silver and copper pieces, they are all made of the same material, they are even the same coin, but one silver is the union of ten copper, in a pizza like round coin, so, the copper ones are triangular (also, I've never really read the Dark Sun's books, the coinage there was introduced for me by a GM I had, wich really, REALLY likes DS setting, so, that coild be one of his changes in the scenario)

And, i think you forgot a nickname for the golden piece, if they are as wide as the "fingers" why not call them nails? =P

those are just my two cents on the subject ^_^

Smurfs!!! and Gargamel.
also some ThunderCats =P

put them all in a city and you will have the greatest adventure ever (or a bad LSD trip)

I KNOW, right? Last month Belmer's daughter said she'd seen the moon wink at her. She said it took a full month to do it, but I believe her.

You hear the story of them goblins what went to prove their bravery by spitting in the eye of the great moon god? They all built up their courage, went to the top of a tall lump, and spit at the moon. They cavorted for a couple seconds at their bravery but went inside when it started raining. The story says they claimed that was the moon god crying, but I just think it's a bad idea to stand anywhere where a score of goblins are spitting in the air.

Best joke-post ever!

so its about Drows? =PP

In addition to the moon, which has a very interesting story behind it, two additional inhabited worlds loom large on the horizons of Golarion.

Meaning that, if I look to the sky at night while in the beach in Sandpoint, I'll see a moon, a red planet and a green one...

Do they also appear along with the big yellow ball? or the Sun has a different color?

whats C.H.U.D. ?

It's kinda funny because my first thought is no matter how rare those last two might ever be, the chances of a turbine falling off an airship and smooshing a good-aligned drow ranger would pretty much be 100% in any sane DM's campaign.

lol, it's too true!

You only need ONE turbine in the world, after all...

soo theres ONE good aligned drow in Golarion?? hoooo O.O

No worries anymore, just got both deliverys at once today. thanks for the rapid response ^_^

It makes me mildly sad to admit this, but I had to look up the reference. I've never seen that anime. :\

Fushigi Yuugi is a great anime...though I highly suggest avoiding the english dub like the black plague itself. Kowai no daa...

Definately worth a look or netflix...I love Netflix. The best parts of the series are Tasuki (for whom my bird is named) and Chichiri (for whom yet another bird was named).

No anime should ever be seen with english dub or versions.. im not in teh US and hate the version made for One Piece... cmon! a sugarcane?!?!?!

Unfortunately, the single long arc focus of pathfinder doesn't work for my group, so please cancel my subscription and convert to store credit. If you ever switch back to shorter arcs/single scenario format, I will be back. Until then, I'll have to cherry pick the single scenarios.

It's too bad that you know who can't take your example of high production value on previous Dungeon magazines. RIP.

They have GameMastery Modules, wich are short adventures, might suit well for your group.

One of my players, playing a Barbarian just got himself turned into some sort of undead in another game he plays.
Now, if undeads does not have constitution scores (wich is significant to determine how many rounds he will be in rage), wich other attribute will play the CON part?

(thanks in advance and pardon my english)

What good dm doesn't always? What's scarier than "ner ner lung, lung-lung lung-lung lung-lung?" ;)

is that Diablo I theme?

if it is, gives me the creeps till today.

I am also lost about the shipping methods. I really want to buy a few things, but getting a shopping cart with +- $15 and a shipping rate of almost 40 bucks is not an option for me.

So, how can I put this order with my subscription package?

Meri's instantly suspicious of Seoni, since most normal people aren't half-naked, covered in strange runes, and weilding a rod/wand/staff that looks suspiciously like a sword.

half naked in an adventure party? THIS IS HALF NAKED and she was the most charismatic character in a magazine based on D&D here ( Holy Avenger and the character name is Niele)

and this is Victory , the daughter of a god and a mortal who came to wake up in our world some day and had to face a Cthulhu. She was also a very trustworthy creature and, for Gods sake, saved our world!

and, for the rest of SirUrza's post, that just comes to justify the novelization of the AP!!!!

the players may play the Iconics, we, in the forums can start to assume whats going on in theyre heads, but this way we will never really know.

so, here I state: I WANT RISE OF THE RUNELORDS NOVEL!!!

If they dive on the wreck and/or make a major sidequest of interacting with the vilagers, I'd say "House of the Rising Sun" might just be heavy handed enough for a showdown with the one that got away in Pathfinder #2.

As for the ogres, I suggest "Dueling Banjos" for when the PCs find the rangers and track back to the farm, "The End" from The Doors could aso work at the farmstead and the cover screams "Riders on the Storm."

I do like Doors, Pink Floyd, Marillion, etc... Ive banned every music that could really distract the players. They are distracted enough without any soundtrack or gaming console nearby, immagine if I put some music they're into?

I'd only wath them sing lousely all night long.

Heres a few artits I use as soundtrack for the games I use to GM:

Die Irrlichter (specially the cd Koboldtanz)
Faun
Filia Irata
Poeta Magica (thats the most used CD Ive got for gaming session, I really think my players are getting bored [but who minds? the music is good])
Schelmish
Wolfenmond (this is more suitable for a tavern environment)

Soundtracks:

Conan The Barbarian - 1982
Bram Stoker's Dracula - 1992 (dont need to say thats a great one for HMM, right?)
Apocalypto - 2006 (another great one for HMM)
300 - 2007 (a good choice)
Alien - 1979 (if you want your player to be on theyre toes, play this)
Pirates of the Caribbean At World's End - 2007 (good for battle scenes)
and last, but not least, every Silent Hill (the game) cd you can put your hands on, but I suggesty you to rip some songs and make your own "scary cd".

great list there, Ive got 5 other books to download... =)

Me Wants

"The queen of the Damned" by Anne Rice.
its the third book from the Vampires Chronicles, and as far as I can see the weakest, but still very good

and I've just finished THe Pilars of Earth by Ken Follet, wich I should say its a must read for all who likes a little intrigue and is fascinated by medieval age.

Try to add as much flanking, bullrushing and sunder... you may also want to substitute a few of the feats, placing sunder and others to make the creatures slightly more powerful.
