. . . because everyone loves a villain with class. And if you don't, you can be dealt with.

"Soon Absalom's soul will belong to the Majestrix. . ."

Raised her. . .

shot her again, cast soul bind and wished her dead.

Har Har! Did the little Barbie wander into the wrong thread and get ganged up on?

And with respect to the thread title:

Perhaps consider also what the mantis will do should they combine two of those sabers, one in each hand. Each hand can strike for 1d8 points of damage, yet each hand benefits from feats such as Weapon Focus.

1d8 for an off-hand weapon with a sawtooth saber is really hard to find, especially in OGL. 1d8 is a lot better than a stupid klar – primitive.

If I didn’t know I could crush a mantis with a single swipe of my greatsword, I’d almost be mildly concerned.

You can also use it in a grapple, right? One of my players took this as an exotic weapon, but he's also a Varisian ranger aspiring to be a member of the Sable Company. This is one of those "mechanics first, flavor cleanup afterwards" scenarios. Does anyone have any tips on how to integrate its use into his backstory?

Perhaps, he witnessed the red mantis murder a close friend with a sawtooth sabre and the scene of the dancing death blade remains etched in his mind. Now he keeps the mantis' signature weapon at the ready so that when he at last finds the mantis he can return the favor. (My name is Inigo. . .)

I imagine he’d probably have to keep the weapon sheathed in public to avoid having to answer questions over and over though.

I’d totally let him have the sabre. The poor PC is Varisian and he wants to be in Sable Company. He needs something good in his life. Mwa ha ha.

So that's how it is eh?

Well, I've just picked up a few extra levels of psychic today. Let's see what we've got here.

Raises envelope to forehead and says, "Shoanti".

Slowly tears open envelope and reads parchment inside:

"What lawless savages no longer belong in Varisia and will soon be cast out - permanently? . ."

Hellknights: tons of info, Wiki-style. . .

Adequate.

Though it would be better served if it gave due recognition to the Order of the Nail's thankless service patrolling Korvosa's northern frontier for Cinderland vermin (i.e. trespassing Shoanti).
