Anyone done this?

I really love parts 1 and 2 and 6 of the AP but once the scroll of Kakishon gets involved, it loses some of its lustre. I guess I really like the desert/Arabian theme of the first couple books and I like the idea of Jhavul trying to awaken Xotani and all that, however I don't like that the PCs have to leave Golarion to find/deal with him. Just wondering if anyone's found a way to run this AP without parts 4 and 5 as written?
Thanks!

hmm he's going to be around 11-12th level. I've been thinking about making him a vivisectionist alchemist thats anthropomorphizing animals and using them to wreak havoc in the city. I was thinking i would give him a familiar through the Eldritch Bloodline (arcane) feat...I'm not sure though, this might be a different villain..because he doesn't have any way of controlling the animals..i like the idea of an item or property of the location thats allowing him to control hordes of animals..

Hi there, I'm trying to create a villain that operate within or near a large urban center and uses animals as both informants and assassins. Now the druid seems to be the most obvious route but I was looking into the witch which could serve a similar function. If the witch took the right hexes, he would be able to mimic many of the abilities needed to use animals in such a way.
Just wondering if anyone can suggest any archtypes, feats or spells that would fit this villain? And whether you would have him be a druid or a witch? I want him to be able to control large numbers of various types of animals, hordes of animals even that may be able to overrun a city or town. He is going to be a worshipper of Anogetz, the daemon harbinger of coups, animal attacks and revolution. As such, he could even be a cleric with the Animal domain. I'm really not sure, so any help would be great!
Cheers!

Hey this may seem like a dumb question that's perhaps already been answered, but does this book include a map of Tian-Xia in its entirety?

What about a Summoner with that weird fox-scarf thing being her eidolon? haha

So the green dude on the cover is the Jade Regent right? does that mean he's a badass samurai? What? No spellcasting BBEG?

Hey! first of all, great adventure! I'm just wondering how Munasukaru has spirit naga daughters? Or how she has any children at all, being the only Oni present in the pagoda. Maybe I missed something, but any help you could provide would be great! Thanks!

Tell me about the witch archetypes!!!

I just wanna say that all of these archetypes look GREAT!!! Im especially intrigued by the cleric and witch archetypes. Can't wait till may!!!

Hey I just got my pdf of Trial of the Beast and in the Pharasma article in her customized summoning list there is mention of two Psychopomps that are allegedly in Pathfinder #44, but they aren't in the Bestiary. Any idea what happened there?

The guy underneath is (most likely) a hellknight, but who is that crazy dude on top? Flaming wings=incredibly awesome!

What IS that thing on the cover??

This may be a dumb question but does Empower Spell make the monsters you summon with Summon Monster spells deal 50% more damage and have 50% more hit points?
Thanks!

I just have a question about the low templar: its 10th level ability grants it a "planar cohort" but I can't find rules for planar cohorts anywhere in the PF SRD.

Just wondering how that works! Thanks!

Hey all, I'm thinking of making a ranger who's an expert demon hunter in the Worldwound, but I'm a little vexed as to what Favored Terrain to choose. Is the Worldwound mostly plains? Or is it more Tundra?

Any help would be great!
cheers!

I noticed that in the description it says "new oracle curses and revelations" but does not mention new oracle mysteries! Will there be any new mysteries in Ultimate Magic?

Hey All,

I'm looking to create a water-themed villain for my campaign and I've been going back and forth between oracle and wizard and was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations for such a character? She would be level 10. Ideally, she'd have the ability to breathe water and control water, as the room she'll be occupying is largely filled with water.

Cheers!

Sorry, I havent picked up the new Inner Sea Guide so I was just wondering if Lissala is still around? Like can a modern day cleric still take her as a deity?

Hey I was just wondering where some big dark marshes are in Avistan? The only one I see clearly visible on the map is the Mushfens, but I'm wondering if there are any others? Somewhere a black dragon would lair perhaps?

Cheers!

So here's the full write up for Trelixian,
I've given him treasure of a PC as well as exceptional ability scores so I raised his CR by 1.

He will be accompanied by 2 Half-black dragon green hag oracle 2 (Zeega and Faeon) and the room he'll be occupying is a large underground gulch with a huge pit in the middle.

TACTICS
Before combat: Because of the warning he receives from Ixiol and his minions, Trelixian casts threefold aspect, and false life on himself. He also uses his flight hex. After this, he, Zeega and Faeon use their coven powers to cast mirage arcane on the pit so that it appears as smooth earth. They also use veil on themselves to appear as three cloaked figures with indistinct features and Zeega and Faeon’s wings are hidden.
During Combat: Once the PCs arrive, Trelixian casts summon monster VI to summon babaus, who immediately avoid the pit and move to attack the PCs. He then casts flesh to stone on any arcane spellcaster present and baleful polymorph on any divine spell casters to prevent the dismissal of his summoned minions. He then uses Evil Eye on the strongest fighter, followed by Cackle and Retribution. He then proceeds to cast his offensive spells on the party, once he’s out of these, he uses Arcane Blast.
Morale If dropped to 30 hp or if both Zeega and Faeon are killed, he casts teleport and returns to Tamras.

Also in terms of summonings and familiars, I haven't settled on his alignment yet, so he could potentially be LE, NE or CE

I decided against taking Slumber due to the fact that a) i feel bad CDG'ing PCs and b) I'd rather he be able to effect multiple PCs (which is why I'm focusing more on spells then Hexes).

His background kind of forces him to be a witch so I thought i'd work with I've got.

Any suggestions for a good Improved Familiar?

Also, if he were to summon monsters from the summon monster V list, which one's would provide the best back-up for his annis bodyguards?

Finally (I know I'm asking alot from you guys), what sort of equipement would work, I can never really tell.

Cheers, thanks for all the great feedback!

Also, rearranged his hexes as well

Cauldron, Coven, Evil Eye, Flight, Healing and Misfortune

but I've kept Retribution because it seems pretty awesome.

Are these good hexes? I'm thinking the party will be around 9th level when they encounter him.

Thanks for the feedback everyone!

I've decided to give him two Annis hags as bodyguards but which will also allow him to gain access to coven spells.

Also I've changed his feats around: Augment Summoning, Combat Casting, Improved Familiar, Spell Focus (transmutation), Spell Focus (conjuration).

It makes sense with his backstory and flavour that he would focus on conjuration spells and have summoned minions.

I've decided to make him have summon monster VI instead of freezing sphere, he's going to summon a fiendish triceratops which is pretty badass with Augment Summoning.

I've decided to give him a lesser metamagic rod of extend, but I dont know what else to give him equipment-wise. Any help?

I'm creating a villain for my campaign and I started making him as a witch, but I'm struck that alot of the hexes aren't that useful at high levels. Here's what i have so far:

Trelixian Ardorsholme
CE human witch 11
Spells Prepared (CL 11th)
6—flesh to stone (DC 24), freezing sphere
5—baleful polymorph (DC 23), cure critical wounds, flame strike

Feats: Combat Casting, Greater Spell Focus (transmutation), Spell Focus (transmutation), Improved Initiative, Great Fortitude

Any suggestions for how to make this guy better?

Wow the lineup looks amazing..i cant wait for the article about Oni as well as info on the Crown of the World!!! I'm curious as to which deities will be featured in this Adventure Path-the only Core deities left are Torag, Shelyn, Norgorber and Irori. I'm assuming Irori's a given, but the other spot remains ambiguous to me-any thoughts?

Just out of curiosity-aside from the TPK-machine that is Xanesha, what are some other NPCs/monsters from the APs that people have had great difficulty with/are known for TPK'ing frequently?

Cheers!

Question: Is every region/country going to have a map of it alone in its section of the book? This is something i thought was missing from the first book!
Cheers!

My List

Rise of the Runelords: The Skinsaw Murders is pure epic awesomeness. 'Nuff Said.

Curse of the Crimson Throne: Seven Days to the Grave-plague doctors, Lady Andaisin and leukodaemons rock my world.

Second Darkness: The Armageddon Echo: really cool idea and some really neat NPCs in there too.

Legacy of Fire: Howl of the Carrion King-what can i say, daemons really do it for me, overall just a really well paced adventure.

Council of Thieves: What Lies in Dust-Delvehaven is creepy, cool and the backstory is just awesome.

Kingmaker: Havent read

Serpent's Skull: Only read 1,2,3, and 5 and so far I like Souls for Smuggler's Shiv the best. Cool hook for the adventure and you gotta love the giant winged chupacapra!

First of all-this looks awesome!!!

Second: it says there will be a detailed look at Sandpoint and its environs, will this article be different from that found in Pathfinder 1? Like time will have moved forward so to speak?

Hey All, so i've just finished statting up the major villain for part of my campaign-a cannibalistc human bones oracle of Zura and I'm just looking for some advice as to what spells she should know and what her tactics in battle should be. Any help you could give me would be great!

Death’s Touch (Su) Vastya can cause terrible wounds to appear on a creature with a successful melee touch attack. This attack deals 1d6+5 points of negative energy damage. This ability is usable 7/day.
Bleeding Wounds (Su) Whenever a creature takes damage from one of Vastyas spells or effects that causes negative energy damage, it begins to bleed, taking 3 points of damage each round. The bleeding can be stopped with a DC 15 heal check or any effect that heals damage.
Haunted Vastya is cursed by the haunting spirits of Zura. Retrieval of stored items requires a standard action unless it would normally take longer. Any item she drops lands 10 feet away.

Well, i just went to my local gamign store and they only had Thousand Fangs Below, so i picked it up, and I gotta say that it looks pretty awesome at first skim and second read! Now i just have to get a hold of Vaults of Madness and The Infernal Syndrome!

Pendagast wrote:
what lies in dust is the best one in that series tho..

Really? What happens in the next ones that make you say that?

I just signed up for a subscription starting with The Haunting of Harrowstone so I'm definately looking forward to Carrion Crown, its pretty much got everything I love in an AP by the looks of it, so I'm happy.

It just really irks me to have only half of an AP on my shelf, but it will also irk me if I buy the remaining 3 SS books and regret it..

I really like the story aspects of Souls for Smuggler's Shiv and the thematic content of the AP (serpentfolk, cults, ancient ruins, exploration etc etc) so I think i probably will end up getting the other three! First I've got to buy the remaining three CoT books, I just bought What Lies In Dust and LOVED IT!

Hey so i have the first 3 Serpent's Skull adventures but i stopped subscribing after the 3rd came out--recently i've been getting back in to Pathfinder and was wondering whether its worth it get the remaining three volumes? I stopped after The City of Seven Spears, because, while its a really cool adventure, I prefer APs with really strong storylines (less sandbox) and I reading through the blurbs of issues 4 and 5 seem to indicate a continuation of this open endedness. So i was wondering if the last 3 volumes are as good as the first (wish I loved) and better the 2nd and 3rd (which i was a little iffy on)

Cheers!

So it says in the Book of the Damned: Princes of Darkness that Malebranche are powerful generals of hell sent to mortal worlds to conquer them. It then says that there are 12 Malebranche, 1 for Golarion, 9 for the other planets and 2 for the planets that once were.
Any ideas to which Malebranche goes with Golarion? Or Castrovel?
Also any idea of what sort of stats these guys would have? Just advanced cornugons?

Cheers!

Anyone else see the resemblance of this "sacrifice an innocent to provide a body for Tar-Baphon to possess" idea to the Voldemort-Cedric Diggory incident in Harry Potter?? haha either way, its awesome!

Wow i'm intrigued by this "Esoteric Order of the Palatine Eye"--any clues as to what exactly this is??

Just a question about Arazni-any idea roughly what level she would be and what class? I imagine she was a paladin in life and a pretty high level one at that to face Tar-Baphon..

I'm planning on playing a Taldan druid (lion shaman) with the glory domain instead of an animal companion. Grew up in Oppara, was educated in Katheer and decided to dedicate his life to the re-naturification of the world, ultimate goal=close the World Wound. I've never played a druid without an animal companion and i'm wondering if its any good

What's this I keep reading around the boards about this book having "Oriental content"?? People are saying we don't need a crunch book for Tien-Xia because all the crunch will be in Ultimate Combat (with the ninja and samurai) and Ultimate Magic, but it doesn't say in the product description what "oriental" content will be in the book!

Hey, I'm living in Vancouver and also looking for a group to join, i don't know enough to be GM i dont think but I could definately be a player

Hey I'm looking for a group to game with in Vancouver, BC, I dont really know how to find one!

Cheers!

Hey I'm pretty new to PFPRG and i just have a rules question regarding oracles and their spells known. Do they get their mystery spells added to their spells known list or to their pool of possible spells to know when they next gain a level? For example, if i had a 10th level bones oracle it would have 3 spells known: slay living (from the bones mystery), mass inflict light wounds and say flame strike. Is that correct?

Cheers!

Also, i don't really want her to have much associations with undead aside from wanting to become a vampire

She's the leader of a cult of cannibals that meets under an abandoned church in a small town. Her ultimate goal is to become a vampire herself, she received a "vision" from Zura telling her that if she consumed 100 human hearts filled with fresh blood, she would be turned. She needs to have the capability to disguise herself effectively, but could be a sort of backwood alchemist time woman or im considering making her a disguised priest at a local church of Abadar..

I considered the witch but i dont think the witch's spell-list is really what im looking for..

Hey, i've been thinking about using a cannibalistic cult of Zura to menace the town my PCS are going to pass through and i've been somewhat stumped as to what class i should make the leader of the cult. I don't want a vampire or necromancer, but I want soemthing that emphasizes the madness associated with this cannibalism, i was thinking of making her an oracle, but i couldn't really think of a mystery that would be appropriate.

I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions?

Thanks!

Something akin to the Pale Man from Pans Labyrinth! Uber creepy!

Also, I was wondering if anyone has converted the Spherewalker to Pathfinder?

KaeYoss wrote:

While they don't generally gain their powers form a specific deity, nothing prevents them from worshipping one, and it won't break the game or anything if you say that your oracle has a special connection to one of the deities.

Mechanically, the class only requires you to have Desna as your Deity, as well as a a number of other requirements that don't preclude getting into this class as a cleric (or, indeed, a sorcerer, wizard, or even fighter - though the fighter would not get anything out of the spellcasting).

Flavour-wise, it would make perfect sense for a Desnan oracle of the heavens to become a spherewalker.

Sweet Thanks!
