Correct me if I am wrong. According to the new post, "evil aligned" characters might not have access to the best training building one could get compared to a "Good aligned character." What I do not understand, then if this is correct, what about the other part of the alignment that people seem to be missing. The Lawful, Neutral, and Chaotic part of it. From what I have read is all towns will be based off alignments. If this is the case, there are going to be no Good towns, Evil towns, or Neutral towns. They will have the full spectrum of the alignments, I do have to digress, there might be "True Neutral" towns. So then in my theory of thinking, what is going to stop a Chaotic Evil character from going into a Chaotic Good settlement to do his/her training? - Since GW already stated that characters can move and interact with towns within 2 steps of their alignments.- Of course other than he might not have the correct rep to enter such a town, or if the town knows he is a nut case they might not let him. Wouldn't it be a smart move for that player to befriend the town so he could use such training? If that is the case, I really over all do not see an issue with playing an evil alignment. As for what are the benefits of playing an Evil character vs Good character we will have to wait and see what GW has in store for us to make that call.
Mr. Being, I agree the Dragon Realms Crossing invasions. Those were the good ole days. I was lucky enough to be mid level, I was actually able to help in the offense, until the higher level invaders appeared. Then I just ran back to the guild hall to stay safe. I did pick up one of the best bows I had ever seen in game off of the invader I killed. But those were the most confusing and fun events I have ever had privy to an any online game I had played. My next favorite memory was of Ever Quest. When a GM RPed Firiona Vie. It was great to see a Demi God walking through the woods talking to normal players and having them to follow her to help her with a quest she was partaking in. My third was in WOW with the Ringing of the Gong for the opening of Ahn'Qiraj. Our server worked hard to be the 3rd server in the world to be able to open that dungeon. That was the first and only time I have seen a zone crash from the amount of PC's in a zone. I had heard there were 1000 or more people in the zone for that. TF

Mr. Dancey, I guess my first question to you would be. What is your definition of human interaction?
My second question is, What is your definition of exceptional loot? Is it a Potion of Invisibility and a scroll of Magic Missle Lvl1/Caster Lvl1? Or is it a +5 Full Mythril Platemail, a +5 Large Steel Shield, and a Ring of 3 wishes? If you could answer these two questions I think it will help everyone with a better understanding of what you are looking for.
Honestly Patrick I do not see this game as a PVP gank-fest in the beginning. The reason is at the very start everyone is going to try and get their foothold in the game. People will be trying to figure out the ropes of the game, and then it will be the mad dash to acquire gear, trade skills, professions, and to lay claim to their hex. Once all that is acquired then PVP will become an issue, of course you will have the occasional baddie, that wishes to make everyone's life miserable early on. But I feel at the start that is going to be minimal. So in all honestly in the short run you should be able to play the game as you want, but in the long run you would probably want to alliance yourself into a guild that will help you if you run into the issue of PVP. And one more thing to remember, The Bounty Board is your friend also. The gankers will learn to leave you alone if you continuously place bounties on players heads that attack you.
I would like to say Hello to everyone here. I have been a lurker for over a month. I think the character I plan on playing would fit in well with your guild. Dependent on how the alignments do play out. I do like what I see with the company and probably will go and take a look at your website. Kêll, The Finder.... |
