Squirrelloid - Nice work on this. Thanks.

I would like to see what a Fighter 15 could do too. (or a cleric 15 for that matter)

Squirrelloid has already started a thread for a fighter.

I don't recall seing IIFC ever, probably a miskeyed IIRC, 'f' and 'r' are right next to each other. Think that's probably how 'pwn' came about, misspelled 'own.'

I first saw nerf used while playing wow, usually some class complaining about one of their abilities being reduced in power. A change that players of other classes didn't always think was a bad thing. I tend to think of them as attempts to balance classes or abilities that aren't usually liked by the affected players.

I have been finding more and more that people are commenting on how people are using terms they don't understand. This is meant to be a safe place where you can come and ask what they mean without judgement or comment. The three I want to know are RAW, nerf, and gish.

RAW=rules as written. Usually a literal interpretation of the rules as they appear.

Nerf=changes something for the worse, usually applied when the person speaking doesn't think the change was necessary.
Gish=character that uses both melee and spellcasting. Refers to a certain type of Githyanki from 1st or 2nd edition I believe.

His schtick is that he's a badass. If you read the timeline in the PFCS, you'll see that he killed Arazni, a demigoddess herald of Aroden. And then he hurled her body into Arazni's army to further demoralize them. Not a nice guy.

Didn't know that he threw her corpse back to them. I was wondering how the knights had it in their possession for Geb to steal. At least Aroden's next herald had better luck :)

I also thought of that Craig, but I didn't mention it cause I thought the compleat encounter was renamed after it was first released to tie it in to Pathfinder. Similar to how they've renamed all the Ptolus mini's to fit into Golarion :)

According to James (I think) that's him on the cover of the campaign setting about to knock Valeros and Seoni off his tower. Wonder if Merisiel is actually climbing up or actually realizing it's better to stay below....

Edit: added Merisiel's name after seeing a thread by Vic about her miniture.

And new buyers beware, the story is very rooted in the political climate of the 80's. It loses less than V For Vendetta if you don't know/remember much about the climate from that time though.

As far as I know it still is. Course remember that it's a little skewed by the fact that Nixon is still in office and we won the Viet Nam war decidely in the book's continuity.

Was watching the trailer again and I noticed the World Trade Center in the background of the shot where the owlship comes up from the river. Might have to buy the graphic novel at B&N while getting breakfast in a few.
I hope it comes over well and I believe Snyder wants to do it the justice he and many people feel it deserves.
There was some parts of an interview linked on Scifi.com where Snyder talked about the visual depth and rewards of second and third readthroughs. He referenced a quote of moore's that said that moore's books wouldn't do well as movies cause of the things you notice on later readthroughs and are in fact often written assuming that people notice things they missed or didn't know to look for at first. Snyder said with the shorter amount of time between theatrical release and dvd and other forms of the film, he expects that it will be easier for people to watch it several times and catch those nuances.

I should've italicized 'summoned' probably. I knew called and gated creatures didn't have this limitation. Even then, the creatures they summon couldn't call anymore.

Andoran (Pathfinder Charter Superscriber)

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure that summoned creatures can't summon others.

Andoran (Pathfinder Charter Superscriber)

Best of luck with the recovery Paul. I live on Indy's westside and wasn't affected longterm but a guy I'm guildies with in WoW lives in Johnson Co. Once they let him past the roadblocks, he said he was lucky that the doors kept the water out of his house but he'd have to powerwash the watermarks off the outside.

Andoran (Pathfinder Charter Superscriber)

Nothing says the enemies have to teleport into your players' base while they're there. Have a group waiting to teleport there until the heroes start attacking nearby. Then when the players go home to take a smoke/drink break they get an unpleasant surprise. Can't remember which book it was in but there were a couple spells that either shunted and/or delayed incoming teleports and warned their casters at the same time.

Andoran (Pathfinder Charter Superscriber)

Welcome Jarreth. BTW, anyone else think a true measure of someone (else)'s sanity should be if they quote themselves...quoting themselves?

True Seeing reveals "the true form of polymorphed, changed, or transmuted things."

I interpert that as:

True Seeing will tell you Lashonna's a silver dragon, but won't tell you she's a vampire. I recognize True Seeing's a powerful spell, but I also realize True Seeing's only a L5 cleric spell, so it has limits. I just want to run it right though. Will True Seeing tell you she's a vampire*?

*Of course True Seeing + Detect Evil will raise eyebrows when the silver dragon registers as evil - probably more eyebrows than an evil elf would have raised. But who isn't evil at the feast?

I always imagined her dragon form as being more lean with red eyes and more pronounced canines than a normal silver. I think vampiric dragons would share those traits along with humanoid vampires. Of course it might take a Knowledge: Arcana check to realize that this silver doesn't look 'quite' right.

Maybe with copies available at GenCon. Who knows, they might even do a limited run cover for GenCon with alternate artwork like they did for Pathfinder #1. Or they might do that for next year.

It could be that some powers-that-be in his life read or heard about that post on Deviant art's site and were concerned and/or frightened for him or others : \ I hate saying it but some people could get worried if a person who dresses as he describes himself there and is feeling marginalized starts saying that he'll show 'them' what he really thinks and can do to them :(
I really, really hope it's just a grounding from internet posting. I notice that his PF subscription is still active. If he's a working student and wasn't allowed this outlet anymore you think he'd cancel it or his parents would if they were paying for it.

For July (I'd suggest August but due to shipping times....) subscriber shipments you ship along a special "Subscriber" card... we have to show that at GenCon to get the discount.

Or something similar.

If they have it setup like last year, they can get your account info at the booth. I was a little puzzled when I got home (I live in Indy) and what I just bought was already in my purchase history.

Well that solves that problem very neatly.

I couldn't find the book before I went to work this afternoon. She's mentioned in passing as an old foe of Pazazu (I think it's him)and then mention in the table in the back of the book.

No problem :) it's the first Fiendish Codex. I was rereading it a month or two before RotRL started and was surprised to see a couple references to Lamashtu.

Lamashtu doesn't need to be imported. Someone, probably James, put a couple mentions of her in FCI :)

Andoran (Pathfinder Charter Superscriber)

Of Drizzt and Cattie-Brie, I read the latest book and

Spoiler:
The monologues from Drizzt at the beginning of each book,as well as the prologue, take place 100 years after the battles with Obould and there is no lamenting Cattie-Brie, not a single mention that I can recall actually atm. It focuses on how much the world has changed. The actual body of the story picks up just a few months after the end of the Hunters Blade trilogy. Interesting point though is that Laeral encourages Cattie-Brie to take up arcane study cause she seems to have the aptitude for it and Cattie-Brie will probably be permanently hampered movement-wise from having her hip almost crushed by a giant-thrown boulder in a previous novel.

Andoran (Pathfinder Charter Superscriber)

Thanks Lazaro. I made my entry while I was at work so I going by memory. :)

Andoran (Pathfinder Charter Superscriber)

Have never heard anything about him being based off any actual mythology. Here's what I know but other regulars who've been playing/reading Realms longer than I have probably know more. He was originally a powerful mortal warlord who along with his two companions, Bhaal and Myrkhul(sp?), set out across the planes seeking great challenges, fame, power. Eventually they challenged the god Jergal who at the time was a god of death, murder, and tyranny. Jergal was bored with his existence at this time and agreed to split his responsibilities up amongst the 3 of them. The rolled an arch-lich's skull to see who got to pick which portfolios. Bane chose tyranny. During the Time of Troubles (1E-2E shakeup event in FR), Bane was slain by Torm. His 'god-son' Iyachtu Xvim worked towards taking over his father's portfolio. However, it turned out that Xvim was basically a kind of contigency plan of Bane's and after a series of events orchestrated by Bane's last high priest, Bane burst out of Xvim and reclaimed his portfolio.

That's the breakdown covered in 3.0 and 3.5 PHB. Arcana also covers dragons I believe. Dungeoneering=oozes.

But I was thinking also about Westage. My last campaign was set there, and Westgate has issues with the regional thieves' guild. If you're looking for spooky vampires who have a vice grip on their territory, check them out.

All you players who somehow didn't know: your eyes are getting very heavy....

There was a 2nd edition source book that detailed the thieves guild in Westgate among other secretive groups. Believe it was "Cloak and Dagger"and it also received another entry in the 3rd edition book "Lords of Darkness"

Vampires of Waterdeep from Dungeon could work. 3-part mini- campaign that takes place in/under Waterdeep.

Edit: Issues #126-128 of Dungeon :)

Andoran (Pathfinder Charter Superscriber)

She could escape then lay low the rest of the RotRL AP. She bides her time brooding on destroying Sandpoint and the heroes who defeated her before, only to return stronger with new followers or even 'children' to help her. Say a mini-campaign for the characters that covers level 15/16-20 and follows some time after Spires of Xin-Shalast.
