Eldin, what do you need me to be doing? I'm not much for questioning the locals and such....
Sounds good to me, we need to locate Anders. I also wouldn't mind a black cloak....
Dear Kora, it's been quite a rough time. Would you have, by chance, a sweet mead or an elvish wine? If I could trouble you for a large mug of either it would be most appreciated.
Let's rejoin our team. There is nothing left for us to do here.
We should've killed her for her crimes and brought her guilty body back to the guards when her henchmen attacked us, Eldin. Now we have to deal with an unreceptive group of guards and possible corruption in the city. This is not how justice gets served....

You are fairly certain the man’s original intent is to bury your issue in bureaucracy, but something in your complaint strikes a nerve.
“…thieves guild…noble…interesting,” the man murmurs, checking off identical boxes on each of the sheets.
“What did you say your name was again? These are serious accusations, and I’m going to need you to wait here while I send a contingent to check this out.”
The man whistles to the guards outside.
“Show this man to a holding room, please. He is to be treated as a witness, not a prisoner”
Do you wish to have us guide you to the place?

G'mork wrote: Gut Tugger trots along, looking back every so often, circling around, and nudging the party in the proper direction sheepdog style before darting back to the front of the procession. He chatters nonstop about everything from the onset of fall weather to the tearing of flesh from still warm prey, the prattle stopping only as you pass Lotus Dragon guild members, at which times he lopes along glassy-eyed. Gut Tugger directs you up the ladder to the Taxidermists shop, waiting at the bottom until he is certain you are on your way. The hidden door closes behind you, and you hear the scrape of a bar from the inside.
As you enter the disheveled taxidermists shop, you spot a familiar face.
Why do you stay with her? One such as you belongs in the wild, free to hunt and roam where the wind would take you! I don't understand how a magnificent creature such as you could stay in a underground lair like that. If you ever wish to roam I would enjoy your company, Gut Tugger, although I am sure you had ill intentions for us earlier. Look me up if ever you gain a lust for wandering.
The Beast shifts into Elven form..."I suspect a trap. And Yes lizard, I know you are intelligent. Can you speak?"
Cool Beast, Shiny!
What do your instincts tell you? Nature's gift is our instincts. Most spend a lifetime quelling instinct, but those who embrace them tend to see more clearly so speak and I will trust those instincts.
What's on your mind, Seann, we been through hell together and I respect your words.
Terin is leveled also. The Beast gets mobility(+4 vs AoOs for me movin') and a magic +1 bite while in predator-form now.
Cool. I will work on leveling up in the next day or so.
I know Penkus as he is now, a battered shell of himself that Vanthus left to die. He resides in me now as one of my ocular orbs and I know what he knows.....to a point. I am in a tough position. I do not wish to kill or arrest you, but if you intend to usurp power within Sasserine, then I have no choice but to do one or the other. I see the value of a thieves guild in a city, but not one that takes over the city. I fear I must ask you to surrender and face trial, or resist and.....well...I wouldn't choose that if I were you. Still readied to attack at the sign of a false move.
Out loud Terin says "Penkus, shut up." before realizing that he responded aloud. Then mentally 'I have no intention of being restrained for an undisclosed amount of time waiting to test the word of the Leader of Killers and Thieves."
Out loud again, "Who ordered the Harbormaster's death? I am pretty sure of the answer but I would like to hear your take on it."
I guess there is more work to do then, you obviously need to be brought to the point of collapse. I will not be caged so you can figure out how to take care of us, and proceed with your disgusting business practices. I ask you to surrender now and be brought to justice or resist and be destroyed.
Let me know when to roll initiative and consider me readied to attack if she makes ANY moves.
I've not seen a Felldrake up close, does he have a forked tongue to match his mistress? People who pretend at noble causes and use evil means to reach their objective are nothing but deluded, vile individuals. Don't act as if your actions are justified just because your ideals are perceived by yourself to be necessary. Sasserine just came from under violent rule from the Sea Princes, and I will not allow you to place it under the 'iron-fisted' and self-justified violence of your machinations. If that means that you must face justice and your guild needs to be totally destroyed, then so be it.
Marius is one of us now, and if that displeases you then tough. He has proven himself a stalwart companion and I will stand with him and for him if you decide to bring violence upon him.
The Beast stands on his hindlegs an assume his humanoid form. 1d20 3=20 knowledge nature.
"A felldrake eh? How did such a goodly creature become corrupted to work in such a group? More systematic animal torture?"
Terin looks like he is trying to restrain himself from attacking, the animal treatment in this place has left him with a deep-seething rage toward the oppressors and here stands their leader.
Terin gives a vicious looking smile, "Are you sure about that Penkus part?.......
So what do we do to ensure you don't team up with your master against us?"
And when we turn her offer down? Then what? You and her gang up and attack us? You are surrendered. Allow us to bind your hands and tether your feet and I swear you shall live no matter what goes on between your master and us, otherwise I would rather deal with you now and that won't leave you living.
Make a choice.
*readies an action to attack if he looks to flee.*
The Beast becomes Terin again and raises his scimitar to the instructor's throat.
"You call me a 'pet' one more time or use your cruel animal treatment methods upon me one more time and I swear by all the Gods of the Natural Order that I shall end you."
Who's up? I am lost.
Your kung fu is weak! I shall skewer you, scum. 1d20 5=21 will save.

Sorry guys, but no one 'switches' The Beast.
The Beast attacks the man with the switch. I assume he is flatfooted as he turned his back on me.
1d20 6=14, 1d6 5=10
He then shifts back to elf form to finish the battle with his scimitar, "you will pay for that, human, then I shall deal with your master."
*shifts to elf*Penkus related the color scheme to me: Blue for allies, Red for enemies, Gold for income producing ventures. I see several places we have visited or passed by within the city have flags affixed to them, including the Islarin estate (red), the Kellani estate (blue), several of the watch garrisons (blue and gold), and the Vanderboren estate (gold).
*Shifts back to beast-form*
Ardan, it seems to be an exfoliater cream. It is used to get the dead skin off to help reduce the lines and wrinkles that tend to come with old age. Cucumber is commonly used to help reduce puffiness around the eyes. Please don't eat the beauty products. *shifts back to beast with a snicker*
"'Ware the bucket! They always have deadly motives." Terin says to Tyndal with a slight smirk and a wink.
"Yeah, I know, pretty lame joke. I'll spare you any more" Terin shifts to his unspeaking beast form and follows behind Tyndal.
That's my assumption, some trouble that needs clearing. The eye isn't real forthcoming with details, either he doesn't know the exact nature or his memory of the area is blurred. Let's move out.
The Beast turns back to elf and states quickly "Terin. Gear up and lets move! This battle can't have gone unheard and we need to be ready for action and move on quick or we're all dead! We'll all chit-chat later over a brew once the guild is beaten."
Terin is at init 19.
Terin moves into the room and attacks the closest thief, 1d20 4=16 to hit, 1d6 4=9 damage. He then shifts into Beast-form and lets out a rumbling growl.
Terin nods a silent yes and grips his scimitar in a reverse grip, back of the blade running along the back of his forearm.

“We would have to take a left where we first came in to get there.” I think we are heading there.
Tyndal Maelglum wrote: "Lets check the guest room, just to make sure Vanthus didn't leave all his loot in there." Tyndal smiles.
Thank you for the headsup on where we were, I was so confused. Retcon is cool with me.
me too. Sally stays topside..;P.
Yes, Vanthus probably stayed in these rooms, but I think he may be in Penkus' rooms. Mind that vial, it's Urchin Venom. Anyone want some Rum? *where is your old rooms Penkus?*
map
Bringin' over the map. I can't figure it out either, I see a bunch of water with a square in it that looks like it could be the well entryway but we descended in the Taxidermist's shop.....I dunno, maybe we are in the cutoff area. There is a cutoff room that looks natural with part of a 'c' in a square like the water room...that could be our starting room. Maybe...
**Penkus is there an answer from you that could answer our questions as to where we are on the map or where we should head and what to expect there?**
Make a nice 'interogation enhancer'. Keep it handy...
*mentally to my eye* Visiting guests like Vanthus? Or does he have a place he stays when here? What is the purple potion, Penkus? ***
Out loud---That room is a guest chamber, I doubt the bodies will be disturbed too soon, especially behind that couch that was stolen from some Spice seller in the Merchant District.....
Keep wondering how I get that info, although I added the couch info just to be smarmy, Arden!
Let's check the map. I am thinking that if Vanthus were here he would be in the rooms that our informant didn't know about though, so that may be where we should head.
Ardan wrote: "Somebody give me a hand with this door already!"
Can we get a confirm/deny on my listen assumption before we go too far?
Sorry, Sally, I got a body hoisted on my shoulder over here. Try again but try putting some 'Man' into it.
Hee-hee!
Ardan wrote: D12/13 - Incidentally, I can't believe an elf just called me Sally... Hee-hee!
*whispering*Come on, Sally! Get the damn door open! This bastard is heavy!
Terin grabs the other body and hauls it behind Tyndal toward our possible body dump. Terin yanks out the broad bladed knife and tosses it, hilt first towards it's owner. "Nice shot."
Could I AoO him? I am next to Tyndal. If so you can use my 1st round attack for that. Either way my initiative is 20 so I can get my regular attack off before he flees.
Here is to hoping that Flatfooted is enough...
Terin slashes with a powerful stroke at the other man-
1d20+4=13, 1d6+4=9
Do we do group or individual initiative?
Ardan wrote: Ardan whispers back to Terin, "Any ideas where they might be headed? "To hell."
Terin creeps up behind them also, with Tyndal. Scimitar held in both hands and raised high above his head.
*Damn, looks like I need to be able to tell the others what the 'All-seeing Eye' knows.*
The beast rears back on his hind legs and become elven again.
whispering--"That's a kitchen there."
Terin draws him scimitar and continues following.
Leave him, we can turn him in to the watch when we finish down there or if he gets out he can make a run. I really don't think he wants to either cross us again or cross the guild again given the info he just gave us so freely. Vanthus and 'Dragon Lady' don't seem real interested in failed thieves.
Either way I doubt he is dumb enough to stay in town long.
Crocs are a vicious predator. Their methods are brutal and quick. I would think the guild uses the croc or crocs as a kind of disciplinary device. Not much worse than being eaten by a large reptile that wants to twist bite-sized pieces off of you. Watch that once and you would try not break a rule again.
The beast becomes man once more....
They train Newbs there, it's called the crucible. *Penkus, what awaits in the 'Crucible'? Is that a way we should head?*
