"I think he has a serious fetish for those syringes of his!" she mutters very quietly.
"Hello? Hey Otto have we lost the others... uh Otto?" Tekkie asks.

"Hurry they starting to gang up!" Tekkie squeaks even though its probably the proximity of the doctor rather than the spiders that has her feeling very squeamish.
I've done that mistake once or twice so...
Tekkie tries to keep up as the surrounding forest lurks the terror of webbing strung between them and the ever presence of the huge arachnids make the going harder and the feeling of paranoia grows as they move out hoping to escape the boundaries of the arachnids' webs as well as the approaching enemy who might have been responsible for the destruction of their ship...
"Watch where you're holding that needle!" Tekkie squeaks behind her as she noticed the "good" doctor getting close.
He probably isn't holding a needles but given the situation I doubt Tekkie would be double checking until they've reached some point where they can rest up...
"Aren't spiders arachnid not insects?" Tekkie asks curiously but still in motion...
"Onwards and watch out for those creepy crawlies!" Tekkie squeaks.
Tekkie tries her best to keep on Otto's tail, well close enough to be able to not stumble nor bump into his back...
"Just watch out for the webs!" Tekkie replies her arms occupied with the gear she was hastily transporting.

hmm dilemna; open ground we move faster, but might be spotted by the hovercraft which we dont know if they are here to help or not; thicker vegetation may hide us from direct observation; but we dont know how long the spiders will persue.
<shout>Anyone have an idea how many could be aboard that hovercraft and maybe the odds of us subdueing the crew if they are hostile and seek to take us prisoner? We should consider options so we can act fast if such a logical and probable circumstance arises.
Otto, would you please take a the point and choose our best path; our goal is the avoid contact with aggressors and reach the base.

Fortunately for everyone that was a 59% roll against 5% chance of battle rage... or squirrel rage given Tekkie has no combat skills to mention! Doctor. I think Tekkie thought she did give a sample, thus the "Ow." Perhaps she is running from giving a second sample.

Tekkie and Otto, yes? If such cannot silence the beacon, should we use force to end the signal, no? Enemy starfighters may track pod to forest. Send force to eliminate survivors, yes? Can pod be destroyed, no?
Tekkie rolled a 62 for the attempt to help silence the beacon
So once Tekkie is able to concentrate does she make a new check or go with the original?
Tekkie focuses on seeing what can still be salvaged off of the pod whether its the emergency beacon or spare parts such as the communication and sensors what is available given the time she has.

Tekkie nods back as she claims one of the sun goggles, tool kits along with an utility coverall before sharing out the ration pills, water and salt pills.
"We better move once we're ready whose keeping watch?" she asks as she gazes at the escape pod wondering if they have time to cover it.
"Who...Tekkie looks around making sure the medic with the syringe has actually given up chasing her can actually use those grenades?" she asks keeping her voice low.

hmm; this is borderline psychotic behavior; normally I would pull your charts. How did you get profiled for spaceflight without a medical exam; are you a stole-away or a pirate trying to hide; there has been an outbreak of sythezoid nueral plants of parasitic organisms by the Sathar to control behavior; such modifications were used on a person to make them attempt an assassination of Queanee Kloonanu 111FY?

"Be careful I think they were shooting down all of the other escape pods... well I thought they were the other escape pods so if they noticed we got through they might be able to triangulate where we landed from any transmissions we make..." Tekkie mutters to Otto in passing.

Having difficulty understanding this system had to correct the character sheet as Communicate: Repair apparently requires you to have the Operate skill first even though characters are supposed to be able to use communications devices anyway! Anyhow rolled 68 on Vehicle/Repair skill +2 is there any reason why the ability scores aren't used with the resolution of any skill check except for combat?
Tekkie has great difficulty trying to see in what shape the escape pod is in let alone seeing if anythings worth salvaging mostly due to the fact she was never allowed near one for the entirety of the trip...
"Sorry what did you say about blood sample?" she asks absentmindedly as she tries to focus on the job at hand and finding it difficult to say the least!

"Don't look at me I'm just a cadet probably the lowest rank on the ship!" Tekkie mutters back too engrossed to pay any more attention as she tries to see what's still working on the pod before getting to what can be salvaged.
What skill would be used to do this? Vehicle Repair?
Trying desperately to keep her sun goggles on to avoid being blinded Tekkie barely manages to scramble out of the escape pod.
"I think I saw a space port somewhere over in that direction, do you think it belongs to whoever was behind that attack?" she asks gingerly stepping around the pod trying to access its current state and reviewing what could be salvaged since walking in the wilds wasn't something she had any experience with.
Oh before I forget I added Sun Goggles to her equipment list since Yazirian's have a problem with direct sunlight well major problem as they have natural night vision...
I was assuming that would counter that problem but a dm decision to clarify would help especially as I had to expand on what tech skills she has!
Updated Tekkie to Zebulon's version of character generation hope its accurate as I previously though it was a basic 2 skill selection only.

Hopeless sorry I didn't answer earlier, the only restriction is no mecanoids.
That's okay I actually bought those sets years ago and didn't remember the character generation being what it is got involved in a game years after I had to get rid of this along with alot of other stuff but that game which only lasted the evening didn't teach me much other than to avoid grenades at all cost so this will enlighten me on star frontiers quite considerably!
Okay lets see what you think of this...
