This is just my personal opinion but I CAN'T STAND IT when gm's tone down player's abilities. All this does is piss the pc's off when all you have to do is to boost the monsters stats and abilities to compensate. Why penalize the players because they have built an awesome heroic character by the rules!? Its not hard to vamp your badguys to make them challenging.
