Tanniralirul grew up in the swamps and channels of Minata before hiding on trade boats to make it to Absalom. During their childhood, they would obsessively study the bones of fallen creatures and corpses in the muck, and soon honed the ability to carefully carve sinew from bone.

It was not so much that they were obsessed with death, as much as they remained fascinated by the process and how it impacts the world and keeps it going. When a lost vessel docked at their village's pier, they met a strange foreigner from Garund, a Pharasman priestess, who saw the potential in them and welcomed them to the faithful.

The priestess has brought Tanniralirul to Absalom, where they learn more about the faith, and there is a market for their artwork, created from the bones of the fallen.
