"What do we need to ask the guards about?"

"We were of great service to her Majesty, I thought perhaps we could ensure the guard's other matter was settled as well."

"Agreed, too much sitting around is bad for the body and the soul. Perhaps we can followup with the guard."

Taemin recalls a powerful spell from his days at the Academie, and seeks out a couple/few potions of Mage Armor.

Okay, then we've each got 20 plat, 30 gold, 60 silver, 40 gp in gems each (276 gp value total).
We also have Potion of CMW, MW Longbow, 19 +1 arrows, one bloody MW arrow, silver dagger w/weak evocation aura

I'd be cool with the bow, and would be happy to split the arrows 2 or 3 ways. If Taras picks up a regular bow (Elf after all) the +1 would be a nice damage and to-hit boost. Who wants the dagger/potion (and some arrows)?

Taras wrote:

So to sum things up we have...

A silver dagger (Taemin is carrying it)...
Anyone want the Arrows?

I think I'd like the bow or the arrows (go Elf proficiencies). Putting in the dagger of course (not that it isn't nice).

"I will look for some rope, then I agree, we should go."

Assuming rope is found, I think we'll proceed to tie them one at a time, put the sacks over their heads, and lead them back to the guard station.

Taemin will keep watch over Taras while he searches, then move to join the others outside.

Taemin moves quietly to the door on the west wall, listening at it for a moment. With a glance through the door at the rest, he opens it up and peers through.

Taemin sighs, "Thank Abadar, and thank you Karista," before he glances around, moving to remove or blow out the lamp.

Can we get an updated map sometime - I think I've got it all down, but might be confused. Or I am confused but might have it all down.

Taemin collects the hammer from the floor and checks what is causing the water in the vat to boil. He then circles around eastwards, and makes his way to the southeast corner. Taking a deep breath through the mouth, he dips the hammer into the barrel to search for any more human remains.

Taras wrote:
"Perhaps we should find someone to handle all this meat... it would be a shame to have it all go to waste. Also, leaving live animals here to starve to death would be cruel."

Taemin nods, "Agreed. The work these men were doing as cover for their actions was not inherently wrong. Does anyone know of a trustworthy butcher?...", wracking his brain as he verifies where the first set of doors leads.

"Such slaughter of life, simply for food and coin. Let us be quick." Taemin begins to circle the room eastwards towards the barrels, scanning carefully but quickly, examining the containers.

Take 10 on Perception (search): 19. No other doors here correct?

Karista Tamiir-Quah wrote:
"Who is stayin' up here with this lot and who is heading back to look at the rest of place?"

Taemin nods at Haedrik, already standing guard by the window. "I think Haedrik can handle them, without any more.. casualties."

"Come, let us finish with this place. Taras, are you coming?"

Taemin pats his back and thanks him for the information. "Do not worry, you will not be persecuted for your honesty."

Standing and looking to the others, "We should finish our inspection here with care but all speed," he says, then stage whispers with a smile, "Karista grows impatient."

DM Ross wrote:
"Parns...he said we'd make it rich."

"Tell us everything Parns said Karralo, please."

DM Ross wrote:
We were paid."

Still speaking softly, "Who paid you to do this?"

Actually giving full attention to Vancaskerkin, trying to gauge if he really doesn't know about this - untrained Sense Motive +3.

Taemin continues to hold his shoulder, and nearly whispers, "Who were they?"

Resting a light hand on Taras and Karista's arms, "Fear not Taras, Karista will harm no one if our questions are answered," Taemin says calmly.

He lays himself down on his knees and places his hand on the guard's shoulder, "Come Karralo, speak and be absolved. Do not let the forces of chaos consume you."

Verronax Therellion wrote:
"Who is Vimanda? What was her idea?"

Taemin nods Verronax over to Karista, "Karista... show him the love note."

"What profit does House Arkona see in chaos?"

Karista Tamiir-Quah wrote:
I think Taemin still has it in his hand, he "carefully removed" it from the note, but I don't think he put it down anywhere.

Yes, for the moment at least. Yay simple weapons.

Taemin nods and turns to follow Karista downstairs.

Karista Tamiir-Quah wrote:
"I wonder who the bowman was..err..is? What makes you so uneasy about this place? What threat do you sense, elf?"

"We may soon find out who the bowman is, in the mean time why don't you carry it - it seems to suit you," Taemin says, still pondering.

Reaching the last window he remarks, "As for this place...", and stops, turning about, "I am not yet prepared to formulate my concerns in words."

"It appears to be a love letter and request for instructions to someone named Vimanda. Probably from Vancaskerkin I suppose." Taemin thinks a moment before passing over the note, "House Arkona... the others will likely want to see that."

Taemin pauses at each window to gaze outside, pondering bits of half remembered history.

Knowledge (History) check on House Arkona 1d20+5 -> [8,5] = (13)
Perception check out windows: 1d20+9 -> [4,9] = (13)

Karista Tamiir-Quah wrote:
"That looks important, Taemin. Do you see anyone else?"

"No.. something about this place leaves me uneasy though. Perhaps it is nothing," he says, finally proceeding into the room and carefully remove the dagger to lift the sheet and read it. While scanning through it he nods at the bow, "Quite a piece of work that looks to be."

So very sorry for the absence.

Taemin pockets the well used Harrow Deck and tries the south door, preparing to continue his steady search.

Taking 10 on the search: Perception 10 + 9 => 19 (assuming he gets the chance).

Taemin notes Taras' investigation and returns upstairs to begin looking around there.

Perception (search) check for upstairs room: 1d20+9 -> [13,9] = (22)

Taemin hops down from the table and kicks the sword to a corner, "You have chosen.. wisely. Come let us resolve this."

"Put down the blade and we can speak. This does not have to dissolve into yet more Chaos!" Taemin blurts out with a hint of anguish.

Ready a Scorpion Strike if he attacks or runs, DC 14 Fort or be limited to 5' move if successfully deal damage.

"We're here to talk some sense into Vancaskerkin."

Ready to kick (still non-lethal), if attacks. As usual, feel free to roll if needed.

Taemin jumps up onto the table and give the ex-guardsman a kick to the head, intending to deal non-lethal.

Acrobatics to Jump: 1d20+12 -> [4,12] = (16)
Attack roll 1d20+3 ->[9,3] = (12) (+1 for higher ground?)
Damage roll if hit 1d6+2 -> [2,2] = (4) nonlethal.

Taemin startles for a moment, then lopes up the side of the building with Karista, making for the roof if no other entrance seems accessible.

Initiative 1d20+3: [6,3] = (9)
Climb 10+9 = 19 (Take 10, Shingle Runner feat)

Taemin will remain out of sight with Karista, straining to hear.

Once they return, Taemin will fill in the others on all he saw, and recommend a non-lethal assault.

Haedrik wrote:
"Keep your eyes peeled on that building."

Taemin nods and leans against a wall quietly, making himself small and surreptitiously watching the meat market.

Stealth to go unnoticed watching: 1d20+8 -> [13,8] = (21)
Perception to watch meat market: 1d20+9 -> [8,9] = (17)

Haedrik wrote:
Haedrik glances at Taemin. "Shall we?"

Taemin nods and follows after, attempting to act nonchalant as they approach.

Stealth: 1d20 + 8 (=16)

Taemin bows then follows quietly.

"I feel if we can act on this now, then we should. Let us make our way to the meat shop and stop Vancaskerkin's rebellion - lives are at stake."

Definitely avoiding main roads, probably Taemin and Haedrik leading by 30-50 feet (a building or so) when close.

"Perhaps that would be best. Field Marshall, we thank you for your resilient command, and shall strive to be worthy of your trust. We should delay you no further."

Waiting until we have left the headquarters for the rest.

"Verronax, will you truly need a night's rest? If so, I would suggest that Haedrik and I not get that night's rest, but observe our targets from as close as would be safe. We can then see what they are up to, but not approach."

"If not, I suggest we move quickly. I worry that Vancaskerkin may have allies yet in the guard that will warn him of our mission."

Noting Taras' acquiescence, "We are agreed then. We shall seek out Vancaskerkin and try to reason with him and his men by what means we have."

Frowning with distaste, "I believe you will need to find other assistance with Eel's End, unless my compatriots here have more interest than I do in ret--going to such a place. Convincing this Vancaskerkin to follow the crown and restore order to the city would be more to my liking."

Bowing to Verronax, "However, I will follow your judgment and the will of Abadar in this."

"I would prefer to learn more about the... delicate situation, to see if our skills would be of good use. If not an option first, then I would favor tracking down the rogue breaking Order." Taemin brings his fist to his chest for a moment at the end of his statement.

Taemin steps up, "Thank you Cressida. My name is Taemin Swallowtail, son of Glelfin. I hope we can serve well."

Yes Ross - adjusted my plat accordingly.

Taemin will use his share of the reward (240 gp yes?), to pay back the Bank for their kindness and retrieve his father's sword. Ready after that.

Taemin finds his voice after Haedrik, "As you will your Majesty."

Taemin will wait for the departure of/from the Queen before asking Sabina for more details.

Taemin makes a quick, silent, and humble bow.

Taemin steps forward seamlessly and bows low at the waist with his hands flat to his sides, "Taemin Swallowtail, also of the Bank of Abadar, at your service." He steps back silently.

Taemin follows, seeming a little stunned at the reality of being introduced to the Queen.

Group name? Any ideas?

Taemin takes a moment to thank the guards, then follows the rest up the ramp to hand over his weapons.
