dotting for interest...most likely a rework of Syndir here at 1st level Sorcerer/Monk

Count me interested. Crunching up a Sorceror/Monk headed to Dragon Disciple (seems more than fitting)

Are we at full HP to start?

this will be my alias. Working on switching up the level counts to fit and be more of a support caster/blaster.

Stiehl9s checking in.

I still need to dot some i's, cross some t's, buy gear and write a background but the gist is there.

Id could go 50/50 Monk/Sorceror and take Dragon Disciple at the next level. Is that still not enough primary arcanist?

Eh, just looking at the PrC and notice it would only give Syndir +1 level of spellcasting.

Ah, Syndir. I should have known Nesipho would invite you.

Kamlann, my old friend. I take it as good tidings to see you once again. You are correct, and perhaps I should have pointed out that Nesipho did indeed suggest there was an opening here. Although I will understand if I'm not on the passenger manifest.

Id like to submit Syndir for application. His background actually ends with him on a boat and could easily get a little rewrite to put him on the Trade Winds. If accepted it wouldn't take much to recrunch him to the given specs.

Cool!

Good luck everyone.

Hah! Nice one DoubleGold.

Edward had a good question as to whether or not we need to consider the futuristic world into our backstory?

Syndir is complete except for some minor equipment purchasing.

Recrunch close to being complete. Just need to add one feat, double check skill points and figure out equipment.

Id definitely like to recrunch this guy and come along for the ride to 50th level.

He's headed into Dragon Disciple and once recrunched will show that.

I'm sorry but I can't accept an incomplete application (level 5 vs 10). Among the different reasons, the main one is fairness to the other applicants. I hope you understand.

I look forward to see a complete application though.

More than acceptable. Didn't see the deadline til now and wont make it so I unfortunately withdraw. Looks like a cool game. Good luck everyone.

Im in the same exact boat as Faelyn. Thanks for giving us a shot Terquem. Apologies for having a part in letting such a great idea die.

Syndir snapped out of his mental battle. Relief from the victory over the stirring wyrm loosened his often held tongue.

I agree that there is something deeper here. Whether the answer to the riddle of this temple or not I cant tell.

The Kelishite seemd to wrestle with a decision before continuing.

For a moment there I almost lost control of my emotions.

Not elaborating, Syndir folded his hands behind his back. These were his dearest friends after all and should understand the weight of that statement.

Instead he hissed a few sharp words and crooked a few of his fingers as he focused on the carvings.

Cast Detet Magic

You guys out there?

HP: | AC: | T: | FF: | CMD: | F: | R: | W: | Perc: | SM: | Init:

Terquem:

Will: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30 +2 if Enchantment thanks to Still Mind

Syndir felt the wyrm writhe in his Ego but it was no match for his Qi...ssssoon...sssso very, very sssoon...

HP: | AC: | T: | FF: | CMD: | F: | R: | W: | Perc: | SM: | Init:

Syndir stood in the small puddle created by his dripping garments staring at the bas relief on the walls... theres a clue here...but it eludes me... He shot a look Azana's way at her statement and realized he was having no difficulty seeing in the dark.

These carvings have a power behind their depiction. Azana can you make anything from them?

The sun darkened man withdrew the small cut stone from his pouch and set it spinning around his head before hissing a few sharp words to strengthen it's light.

Releasing Ioun Torch and casting Light upon it

HP: | AC: | T: | FF: | CMD: | F: | R: | W: | Perc: | SM: | Init:

His mind clear after prayer and his body in tune after practicing several forms; Syndir was much more at peace than he had been after first awakening.
The Westerner was quiet and pensive during the ogres solemn departure and eyed the mucky waters with disdain before removing his silken slippers and hoisting his baggy pants and robes. His precautions were to no avail as the water level was too high to save him from the discomfort of having damp clothes. He hissed under breath as he followed the others.
Stopping at Elise's warning, Syndir peered inside the dark building.

HP: | AC: | T: | FF: | CMD: | F: | R: | W: | Perc: | SM: | Init:

It wasnt just you Terquem. I'll admit that Ive had less time for PBP's lately but I try to keep up and dont want to quit. Elise's idea is sound to me. By all means railroad us when we are lagging. Its almost necessary in PBP.

HP: | AC: | T: | FF: | CMD: | F: | R: | W: | Perc: | SM: | Init:

Syndir rose from his prayers and immediately went into the first form he learned. The Sam Chin Po, or First Steps; was the basis for his his whole system and helped calm his mind from disturbubg dreams of the previous night.

Once done he joined his friends where they were talking with F'Lagjorn and nodded at the ogres' plan.

More than understandable. Fleet speed and safe travels to you and yours.

HP: | AC: | T: | FF: | CMD: | F: | R: | W: | Perc: | SM: | Init:

Syndir awoke at the sound of Elise's voice although he didn't hear what she was saying. His body was stiff and his arm still smarted from the goblin snake's bite. The lithe man was in the best of physical condition and had healed worse wounds after a full night's rest..it shouldn't look this bad...sss...ssserpentsss sstrike deep...sss...become the wyrm and learn... He rubbed his eyes and arose to the sight of the rising sun... ah...a good sign... He walked out to where he could face the sun properly and knelt with his head and palms to the pavestones in prayer... perhaps this will fill in the holes in my memory...

HP: | AC: | T: | FF: | CMD: | F: | R: | W: | Perc: | SM: | Init:

Sounds good to me

HP: | AC: | T: | FF: | CMD: | F: | R: | W: | Perc: | SM: | Init:

My bad!

Sense Motive AC vs attack: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (9) + 13 = 22

HP: | AC: | T: | FF: | CMD: | F: | R: | W: | Perc: | SM: | Init:

Friendly reminder for Terquem about Snake Style & Snake Fang:

Snake Fang - If opponent misses you, make an attack of opportunity as an immediate action.
Snake Style - Gain +2 on Sense Motive checks, and deal piercing damage with unarmed attacks. While using the Snake Style feat, when an opponent targets you with a melee or ranged attack, you can spend an immediate action to make a Sense Motive check. You can use the result as your AC or touch AC against that attack. You must be aware of the attack and not flat-footed.

Sense Motive AC vs attack: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (1) + 13 = 14

Syndir knew instinctively that the goblin snake was going to attack but that didnt save him from the vile thing's bite.

HP = 25/33

The Westerner retaliated with a cham jiu, or chopping hand; to the scaled beast.

Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 6 + 2 = 24
Damage: 1d6 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 3 + 2 = 9

HP: | AC: | T: | FF: | CMD: | F: | R: | W: | Perc: | SM: | Init:

Fort Save DC 15: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23

Syndir arose sinuously from his bedroll at the guards shouts and dismissed anymore thoughts on the dreams he'd been having. A dangerous enemy is close proximity had that effect on the disciplined. The Westerner stilled his breathing as the noxious fumes enveloped him and flowed into the fluid grace of his Snake Style. He took a few steps to remove himself from the cloud and spat some hasty, hissing words.

Swift action - Activate Snake Style. Standard action - Cast Mage Armor - AC 21

Sorry to hear about your brother Azana. Really hope he pulls through.

Initiative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20

Delayed: 1d3 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0 - Delayed one round

The ogre's deep. booming voice and Ellise's warnings woke Syndir from the distrurbing dream he had been having ...why would Harland turn on me?... and the others... so strange... Contemplations fled and the cold sweat chilled the heat from his feverish dreams at the sight of the goblin snakes. He knew he had to act and quickly but his body was slow to react to his demands.

HP: | AC: | T: | FF: | CMD: | F: | R: | W: | Perc: | SM: | Init:

@ Terquem - I have no problem with Syndir's watch placement. My apologies for missing that.

HP: | AC: | T: | FF: | CMD: | F: | R: | W: | Perc: | SM: | Init:

Happy Holidays people!

HP: | AC: | T: | FF: | CMD: | F: | R: | W: | Perc: | SM: | Init:

Following Elise back down the stairs, Syndir shook his head at her assessment.

I beg to differ. Theres some interesting statues on the roof that appear to be tied to the elements and the cardinal points. Azana and Kaleelah, could you accompany me and see if they are as important as I think they might be? We might as well plan on staying here for the night and resting up.

HP: | AC: | T: | FF: | CMD: | F: | R: | W: | Perc: | SM: | Init:

Rolling his eyes in the haughty way nobles are wont to do, Syndir thought perhaps the woman was just focused on checking out the tower...or shes blatantly ignoring me... The westerner had no interest or eye for the new age weaponry so paid it no mind. He did however want a closer look at the statues. So he made his way over to one and examined it.

HP: | AC: | T: | FF: | CMD: | F: | R: | W: | Perc: | SM: | Init:

No need to apologize at all Terquem. I never find RP boring.

and right on for the holiday heads up. I'll be doing a bit of traveling but should be able to check in with normal frequency.

HP: | AC: | T: | FF: | CMD: | F: | R: | W: | Perc: | SM: | Init:

Syndir frowned at Elise for questioning him in front of the ogres and chose to not respond to the queery. The idea of scouting the rooftop did appeal to him though so nodded and made to follow the lithe woman up the stairs. Once there he brought up the subject again.

Elise, forgive me; I did mean to call you down for bringing up what you saw. Certainly what you and some of us saw is of some importance and should be discussed. I just think we should save that conversation for when we are not amongst strangers, you know?... see anything out there?

The monk eased himself up to the rooftop and peered around wary of being spotted himself.

Perception +9

HP: | AC: | T: | FF: | CMD: | F: | R: | W: | Perc: | SM: | Init:

Syndir almost hissed and bared his teeth at Elise when she revealed her viewings of the red dragon inside of him... you revealed yourself?... ssshe knowsss nothing... well keep quiet wyrm...

But years of noble breeeding instilled an instinctual ability to mask ones feelings at any given time. Instead he whispered back.

Perhaps now is not the time to discuss such things Elise.

HP: | AC: | T: | FF: | CMD: | F: | R: | W: | Perc: | SM: | Init:

Syndir stood silently and watched while the ladies worked their healings arts.

HP: | AC: | T: | FF: | CMD: | F: | R: | W: | Perc: | SM: | Init:

Syndir raised a questioning eyebrow at Azana but didnt argue her request.

As you wish.

The swarthy westerner retreated the way he had came and called out from the bottom of the stairs.

Kaleelah! Come here please!

Folding his hands behind his back he would wait patiently for the druid to appear.

HP: | AC: | T: | FF: | CMD: | F: | R: | W: | Perc: | SM: | Init:

When Syndir entered the building his hand gripped his pouch and he clenched his jaw as the wrym stirred to life with all the greed and arrogance its kind was infamous for...gnasssh with fang and burnss with flamesss...we hate thosse of lessser ilk....they only want whatsss oursss by right... He steeled himself against the mental intrusion and controlled his breathing as he was taught lest he lash out with emotion.

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22

He shared Azana's hesitation but figured it was too late to turn back now.

The sight greeting them at the top of the stairs was both curious and foreboding and the noble son of House Apep wondered what couldve put such a nasty wound on such a formidable looking ogre.

HP: | AC: | T: | FF: | CMD: | F: | R: | W: | Perc: | SM: | Init:

Syndir raised an eyebrow is surprise that the ogres were not only willing to parlay but seemed well versed in speech... to the point of using words that I'm not familiar with... theres an interesting tale here...

I will accompany you Azana.

HP: | AC: | T: | FF: | CMD: | F: | R: | W: | Perc: | SM: | Init:

No worries at all Terquem. That's a bad deal no matter you slice it. Hope they work it out fast.

HP: | AC: | T: | FF: | CMD: | F: | R: | W: | Perc: | SM: | Init:

Syndir was only slightly perplexed by Azana's musings...in hindsight...she's often been right about such things...

Well, guards mean something worth guarding and that means something worth taking a look at. Ogres only get real scary when there's more than a handful of them and they haven't charged us yet. Shall we parlay or prove that we are the intruders that we are?

The Westerner's tone left little doubt that he could go either way with the same impunity.

HP: | AC: | T: | FF: | CMD: | F: | R: | W: | Perc: | SM: | Init:

Syndir cocked an eyebrow at his companions musings as he walked nonchalantly along with them.

I'm not sure there is any place that would give advantage towards fighting a dragon. Out here he can fly around like you said Azana but we can also spread out to avoid the brunt of his breath and magic. Below, he will have us bottled together most likely...

The lithe man shrugged and folded his hands behind his back.

...either way favors the wyrm unless we can somehow sneak up on him...

The monk felt a wriggle in his subconscious at his using the word 'wyrm' but didn't let it distract him from watching the skies and the compound.

HP: | AC: | T: | FF: | CMD: | F: | R: | W: | Perc: | SM: | Init:

Sounds good.

HP: | AC: | T: | FF: | CMD: | F: | R: | W: | Perc: | SM: | Init:

It would seem we've come to a dead end then. What did you find below Elise?

HP: | AC: | T: | FF: | CMD: | F: | R: | W: | Perc: | SM: | Init:

Those maps are too cool Terquem! I havent seen 3D display like that on these boards before. Very nice and thank you.

HP: | AC: | T: | FF: | CMD: | F: | R: | W: | Perc: | SM: | Init:

Caution and no small amount of trepidation kept Syndir standing where he was. They were getting closer to their goal and the gods only knew what would happen then...hopefully at the least put Timothy to rest...damn him... He watched as Azana and Elise split off to explore and finally made a move to follow after Aasimar in heading upstairs.

Perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (14) + 13 = 27
Stealth: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

His senses were on high alert but his slippered feet still shuffled awkwardly on the stone stairs.

HP: | AC: | T: | FF: | CMD: | F: | R: | W: | Perc: | SM: | Init:

My deepest apologies for my extended absence lately everyone, especially to you Terquem. My RL issues were beyond nightmarish but have been resolved for the most part. Expect me to be catching up and participating in the next day or so.

HP: | AC: | T: | FF: | CMD: | F: | R: | W: | Perc: | SM: | Init:

I agree with Faelyn. Do whatever you need to do Terquem. This game is worth the wait.

and please forgive my brief, non-daily postings right now. I'm still swinging at some RL curve balls but everything should balance out here in the next week or so.

Fortitude DC 12: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21

Syndir ignored the horrid smell as well as one raised in a palace could. He dabbed some cologne on his shemagh and wound it over his mouth and nose like he would during a sandstorm.

HP: | AC: | T: | FF: | CMD: | F: | R: | W: | Perc: | SM: | Init:

As the last enemy hit the gound Syndir slid out of his stance and stood upright. The westerner pulled a rag from his pouch and wiped his blade clean before sheathing it.

I too can help with the search to speed things up.

The scrawny monk cast Detect Magic and will starting searching oposite Azana.
