Presenting 'Sunset'. Not quite a "Pistoleer' but some one who's handy with guns, explodys, magic and subterfuge. :) Generated for another 'Hell's Rebels', she did not gain entry there hopefully, maybe here. Much cheers to all.
DM's thoughts on the old wording of Titan Mauler? ;) Though am happy with anything.

*Raises hand* Offering up a 'Spell-slinger' for the DM's perusal. *Bows* Will adjust the background since the character was made for a Hell's Rebels campaign. Just a question. Many moons ago there was an original feat called 'Titan Mauler' where the person with the feat could wield a two handed weapon one handed. This has since been errated to include the word "Melee". What might the DM's thoughts be on allowing the feat as originally worded? I ask in the interested such that the character might better wield this or more exactly the lower two pictures. Heck.. with enough levels, I'll just take the penalties if it comes down to it. :P

As she moves off to continue serving the patrons Sunset indices the table with the collection of people, "They seem right friendly enough. Don't think any of them seen each other before and they're getting along swell." She indicates the table with Aada, Isabel, Phineas, Varian and Taldo around it.
Having done her best with mop and bucket, new/clean straw will have to wait till the brushing out early tomorrow morning, Sunset wipes a stray lock of hair from her face and turns to the woman who's entered already bearing spirits. She's glad that the Halfling is getting some attention with seeing about his troubles. When the latesy patron approaches Sunset nods, "Yes Ma'am, right away ma'am. Any preferences? We've not a lot of choice." Sunset indicates 'The board' put up near/over the bar. "The apple schnapps or apple jack is not too bad..."
*Cough* (>_>) (<_<) What happens within Lady Docur's School for girls walls... Stays within Lady Docur's School for girls.

Sill cleaning up Sunset nods to Tychoi trying to indicate that she will get back to him... Even as she redouble her efforts at cleaning away the soup 'spill' so that the collecting and dispensing of drinks doesn't get too far behind.

The visibly tired halfling smiles at Sunset when she speaks to him, "Thank you miss. I'm looking for a halfling man. Looks quite a bit like me but older. Red hair, greying at the temples, and a bushy moustache. He would have looked unkempt and I suspect he was at least half drunk. I need to find him before he hurts himself or gets in trouble." His tone was desperate and weary. Clearly the last few days hadn't been kind to him and it looked like it might have been more than 24 hours since he had last seen his bed. Sunset is about to reply when,
Her gaze turns, a very unfriendly glare in her eyes, as she witnesses the extra mess now puddling against the far wall of the tavern, even as the patrons begin to crowd closer to the minstrel and his tale. (¬_¬) With a sigh Sunset returns to her duties, more so now that she has to bring out the mop and bucket, though the tall tale being spun at least slows things for her on the delivering of orders front.
Sunset sighs as she sees the halfling climb the furniture... though it turns to relief as the smaller humanoid doesn't break out into song... or yelling.. or worse. Finishing up placing drinks upon her tray she moves around to the front of the bar and smiles at Tychoi, "How might I help you, friend?" She asks.
Sunset places the last group of mugs onto the table where some of the more notable patron's have come to rest. Upon noting the increase in their number she but nods before returning to the bar to continue finishing tier requests.

Having given her friend a return hug Sunset waits a few moments before returning to her duties amongst the patrons. Doing her best to both catch up and then keep up with people's orders/requests.
The reply: Sunset stands with Isabel within the confined space listening as her school friend for a moment. As Isabel's whispered stream of words cascade between them end and thence a hug as they move apart Isabel can see tears in Sunset's eyes.
" I... I ... " Sunset gulps around her sobs, " There was a death... " Tears trickle down Sunset's cheeks, "I had to get away. I tried to come back. Back to the school. Tried to report what had happened." She wipes at her tears with a sleeve. "The school doors are closed. None of the drop points seem to be being picked up. None of the codes seem to be accepted." For a moment Sunset looks truly grief stricken then she dabs at her eyes a bit more and a wan smile forms. "So... I fell back into character. Went back into the disguise. Kept working with the cover ." The spark of defiance and rekindles, her chin lifts. "So.. I can be Sunset for as long as it takes to pull through!" she smiles to her friend.
Forgive Sunset's players posting speed as they endure 90' F heat in 60+deg humidity. *Melts*
Aada raises her hand only to find another patron has monopolized the waitress' time.
Eeeeeewwwwwwww ! *Stops hugging DM and steps away...* (>_<) *Looks for some where to wipe hands* Okay, hugging feeling gone.

At the other woman's hail Sunset nods and promptly gives directions to the 'Jacks'... " Erm, 'Jills' I mean, Ma'am." She amends her colloquial comment and directs Miss Rhelian to where she can freshen up.
As Sunset bustles about with the trays of drinks and such she snorts, "Hah! Them fancy silvers in't been seen since.. since.. forever..." She places drinks and such infront of their respective patrons before clearing away empties and bare plates.
At the call of a full gold piece Sunset heads straight to the Laird's table. "Ales, rum or schnapps?" She asks/offers suggestions... taking mental notes of who's asking for what before pocketting the coin and heading to the bar.
Continues to scoot about between the tables and the patrons. Though perhaps giving a wider berth of a certain letcherous teifling.
Sunset slows as Eusebois whispers into her ear as she leans down to place his order before him. Straightening she looks directly at the teifling and for a brief moment her returned gaze is cold and flat (Does one hand reach for something hidden at the small of her back?). Then she laughs, instantly brightening, as she straightens. "Ye'll have to work harder on your word play, mate. Such talk won't oft get you the encounter yer seeking, ye catch my drift?" She arches an eyebrow even as she turns on her heels and goes back to serving.
Sunset continues to move about through the jostling crowd serving patron's needs.
Sunset nods, "Aye Sir." even as she moves to fulfill his order as well as continuing to serve the room's jostling occupants.
(^_^) Gobo Horde. *Nods* I kind of think I know what you mean about the skills thing. Advancing Sunset through the levels and worrying about which skill gets that particular point... Looking forwards to our character walking through the door. Best of luck every one.
It takes a while for Sunset to make her way around the crowded tavern and notice the fellow who's slunk in and settled unobtrusively in the corner. "A-hem..." She coughs politely besides Nissim and sees if there's a response.
So.... here's a possibly troubling question for the DM. Sunset will be taking levels in Sorcerer (Sorry Master Ray) though this is only to bolster her fire power as a Spellslinger. :) At 9th level she will gain a Clockwork familiar. Would it be possible for said item to be crafted so as to appear 'Gun' like (It will actually lose some versatility as it won't run/walk or fly... Though possibly still be able to talk.) and effectively 'shoot' said item with it's ability to project 2D4 acid shots? So Sunset will have her mage pistol in one hand (Meta-magic still spell) and her 'magic' pistol in the other. :) Reminisce of this type of image.
"A glass of Andoran white wine if you have it please." Sunset nods, offering a quick bob of a curtsy at the newer patron's request, "We've an apple schnapps that's not too bad..." She offers, the thought of something like a 'White' wine in the 'Nail' possibly the cause for Sunset to frown a little even as she continues to move on caught up in the rush of serving customers orders.
Sunset smiles and gives a polite laugh as she replies, "You might have me crossed with some one else, Ma'am. I arrived in Kintago only a couple of weeks back. Been serving here for... oh.. about half that time." Sunset bobs a quick curtsy by way of politely leaving and hustling back to the kitchen(?) to move yet more orders along. Returning with some more pastry rolls Sunset again nods as she serves Aada, all the while doing her best to keep up with the demands of the rest of the customers one this busy day.
Aadar notes small writing cribbed inside the paper napkin deftly tucked around her 'Warm bun'. * Elvish: *
Weather fair, though clouded skies. Shutters closed 'gainst coming rain. Portents coming of loud rumbling. As myriad drops gather, a meeting among the torrent's rush."
Sunset moves over to the newest customer when they signal her. "Yes Ma'am?" She asks attentively, even as Sunset passes off a drink onto the nearest table and collects a couple of empty mugs.
Sweeet! *Runs off to 'adjust' starting moneys/equipment...*
Sunset returns with a small pot of hot water and what ever is currently serving cheap on the menu.
Sunset pauses before returning a polite smile at Aleanya's question, "Can't but hurt to ask, hey?"
Ah... *Nods*. Well.. my build for 'Big shield/Big weapon' is rather cheezy... but here goes. 1) Play an Elf or maybe Half-Elf. (Proficiency in Elven curved blade) 2) Take two levels in "Titan Mauler" then wield said 2H sword ONE handed with only a -2 penalty. 3) Then take Fighter and the "Tower Shield" archetype/specialist. This will eventually remove the penalty for wielding a tower shield. *Optional extra: If you can stay "Lawful" long enough for a long dip into Torrent Hellknight, that prestige class plus it's armor will take away a lot of the penalties for full plate. That's my preferred 'Combat build' in home games.. I seem to...um... garner a lot of negative attention when I mention it on the boards.. (>_>) No idea why.... I also some times opt for this build. 1) Again, Elven or Half-Elven fro curved blade. 2) Again "Titan Mauler" for swinging that wicked sharp blade around. 3) Thence all the levels in Magus you require. Because a four foot piece of razor sharp steel can only be improved with magic, right? Basically.. an Elven "Calyistran Saracen". A magic wielding defender of the faith as opposed to a 'Paladin' of the faith. So, priests/Priestesses wear yellow and black. The Saracens wear reed and black. :) Hope the ideas help some.
Having placed Eusebios' order before him Sunset scoots away again. With her next orbit to the bar she picks up a large cloth and a mug of water, sliding them onto the table at which Aleanya has come to sit, offering a smile before Sunset is again moving on to keep the patrons orders fulfilled.
Hey.... she's a travelled gal. Even if she's running from her past. ;) Edit:Question: Could the campaign version of 'Child of Kintargo' be adjusted to reflect the notable 'Docuri School for girls' ? That would give the 'Oomph' for Sunset's starting peice.... possibly... |
