*In reply to Victor's post*

Chauncy will more be a mode of transport or something useful to shove a pole-arm through a bad guy kind of thing. Yes, they might be called on a bit more than that but myself, as a player, am still feeling out the ropes when it comes to animal mounts and companions. They aren't usually my 'Bag'.

Chauncy is there more because the original inspirational fantasy art image from V Segrellise has a warrior/barbarian riding a giant snek... ^^;

Much cheers to everyone! (^_^)

Sunny is more than happy to sleep outside. Chirpilly commenting about keeping Chauncy safe and company. (^_^)

For any interested:
In the wilds, Sunny's more 'Natural' inclinations quickly become displayed yet again as she deftly settles the large serpent into a resting loop of coils. Fitting a large 'Hood' over her mount's head much like Falconer might. Before herself stripping down and packing away her outfit of horn, shell and leather. Then simply snuggling down into Chauncy's now slumbering coils.

Perception:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29 (Evening noises)

The call of the wild brings Sunny out of her slumber. She blearily pops her head up from within Chauncy's protective embrace, blinking out into the cool, dark night. (Insert any descriptions from GM Katary here)

Come the first day's early light, see Sunny up as bright as the day is shining. She quickly bounces up and gets Chauncy moving. The pair of them moving off into the forest seeking.

Survival:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

Any body of water, rivulet, stream, creek, billabong or river. (NOTE* As a person/human/player with no herpetologist skills in relation to GIANT sneks we'll let the dice decide things, yes?)

Handle Animal:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22

With Chauncy's care and feeding done for the day, Sunny also slips into the waters alongside her mount/friend and also engages in her ablutions.

With such mundane necessities out of the way, Sunny turns her attention towards seeking victuals to help round out the morning meal she intends to share with her friends.

Survival:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19

Int Check:1d20 + 0 ⇒ (1) + 0 = 1

OOPS

With some of her friends quickly coming to the fore and deftly mentioning/asking about the very clever outfit they'd met her wearing the previous day. To which Sunny brightly nods and gathers said seeming tangle of threads, string, shells and jewellery from her baggage. Which she dons at her friend's request to show off how such an ensemble might be worn. (^_^)

Social crisis averted, Sunny joins everyone at breakfast. Sharing the spoils of her morning adventures. Though she seems quite taken with the incredibly exotic fare of 'Oatmeal'.

Her demeanour becomes more solemn and serious with the events of Angelica's final rest, to which she does apply herself to the utmost.

Sunny simply, silently offers Angelov a hug of condolences. She keeps back some sniffles before stepping away and awaiting to see what her new companions decide.

DM-Camris:
So. What might you think of me 'Rebuilding' Sunny'?

I've got a hankering to go 'Titan Mauler' for the first two levels. So not quite that much change.

Then, at third level, taking 'Cavalier' then alternating with 'Witch'.

Basically, building up to take 'Leadership' and 'Squire' to get two other followers and ramp up the full 'Coven' rules.

Basically, my home game has gone to Paizo 2nd edition, and I am getting frustrated by how 'bland' it is for players.

Thoughts? Ideas?

I definitely understand the utility and 'Plot progression' aspect of the magic/spell.

Plus, adding non-nasty things for the Necromancers to do in their spare time is always a bonus.

I (player) kind of understand the whole 'Ustalav contrast of different things'. From (Probably quite rightly) superstitious 'Peasants' to highly educated and 'Cutting edge' Magic users/Alchemists which, with the common folks being, well, the more common person to be come across can lead to players and their characters not really wanting to be walking around with big, glowing, dancing lights signs above their heads advertising "Plays with dead people!".

I am looking forwards to both what the person has to say as well as interacting with every one more. (^_^)

Much cheers to all!

Must admit. In a long time of playing the game? The amount of times out table's used "Speaking to dead" is maybe on one hand?

Is my group.. different? How common is said spell used by others? I gather the classic 'Magic Missile' is ubiquitous. Along with 'Mage Amror' etc but "Speaking with dead"?

Any one?

I'm not seeing your race in your profile... are you using a standard elf with some alternate racial traits to make her an "island elf"? I ask because Spirit of the Waters is an alternate racial trait you might have considered.

If you can and want to take it, feel free to swap it in now and be proficient with nets! :)

It does have a cost, though.

D'Oh! (>_<) Actually totally forgot to address the the question at hand.

No am using the 'Aquatic Elf' type then taking the racial option of 'Surface Features'.

It's currently the best way I can think of in creating said cultural sub type.

I do most of my character generation now-days in 'Hero Lab'. Getting all the things to work with all the changes/addendums they keep throwing in is the challenge.

A freind built the Orc 'Tribal/Scarred Shamman'... only for the power's that be to fundamentaly change how some of the basic things worked. Like, changing the class base functional ability from Constitution to something else.

His build? It no work no mo.

Same with 'Enlightened Warrior'. When first published? There was no 'Bloodline' requirement. And as written seems to make perfect sense for 'Any one' to be able to aquire it. Which, if you first put in 'Adopted' then go to the racial traits the weird number of 'Special race only" types of traits seems... very sporadic.

As in Sunny could, if I'd chosen it, taken any number of Golbin traits (Which is totally weird when you think about it but then, how else are people going to get those "World of Warcraft" eared Elves?)... but not that one 'Be a Neutral Monk' trait?

Then there's the whole "Titan Mauler" changes.

Sorry, I'll stop ranting/whining.

There's still more than enough things that we can experiment with in the rules

I look forwards to having and being fun with Sunny. (^_^)

Some of the saying I've got percolating.

"Holy Mother a rectanlges!"

*Looks at companions*

"Whut? Recangles? In't they like lil' baby Oblongs?"

*Blinks some more as people continue to look puzzled*

"Y'know? Oblongs? Big? With tha' feathers an'a claws an'a beaky nashing?"

*Makes Rawr, rawr noises while clawing at the air*
