30 days since you arrived in Tarmran - you were 5th level by then. Also thats when you gathered all your crafting supplies.

The party enters a parlor - there are some suspicious people behind the counter with metal scoops in their hands wearing stripey clothes...it seem oddly cold in here. There are strange vats full of multicolored frozen contents behind a large glass counter. You are greeted with "Wafflecone? Your not sure if that is the codeword for their strange cult. Fireball?

I was looking for a similar thread to offer my 2 coppers worth...

I would like to see

  • An easier way to make dice rolls. Some buttons would be good with the most common ones
  • Emoticons could be good and add some fun.
  • Not to be "lazy", but...Buttons for all the standard text (Bold, italic, quotes, url, etc.)
  • GM or player rating system?...this one very much debatable.
  • Programmable macro buttons that a player or GM could set to make their most common rolls i.e. Party initiative/Perception checks, combat rolls etc.
  • Anyone anything to add?

Why do people care 100s or 1000s of miles away from where we play if we sit a player for no credit (venue or GM 's choice). This isn't a convention, your store or home.

Does it impact you? Only if you really really want to make someone else you will probably never meet do what you want. So perhaps that is a yes for some and no for most.

Does it give the player an advantage? Yes, that +0 nothing of nothingness, 0 Prestige, 0 Gold, 0 Experience and loss of any resources used really boosted their character into awesomeness. err, sorry that is a no.

Does it mean there maybe a few less players on a given week in the store? Perhaps, and they won't be there to spend the money that they would have on minis, snacks or other items.

Is it practical to say "Hey just GM a scenario or AP". I typically purchase the scenario I prepped for the week in advance and read through it a few times, make notes, look up the encounters I am not familiar with, pick out the minis and possibly print a map before hand. So for me to run a scenario cold isn't my favorite thing to do and when I have done it, it is not as smooth (and probably not as enjoyable) for the players. Since this also doesn't happen very often, it would mean moving at least 4 players from the other tables to have a legal table. For now we will say go home and plan better next time (why didn't you register on the forum loser), sorry you just got the day off work, or dropped in to play that's the rule.

So if you are in Rattlesnake Ridge,UT, Opossum Holler, KY, San Diego, Chicago or Minneapolis why do you care if we sit someone in St Petersburg, FL for no credit (assuming the rule was changed to allow the venue and/or GM to decide)? Will it lessen the enjoyment of your game? Impact your far away store or Paizo in any way? Will it make your character less then he/she was before? It's a game, lighten up and let people have their fun if it has no impact on your enjoyment of the game - I thought that was the purpose...That and trolling the forums, yes, trolling the forums is fun too. Insert maniacal laughter.

Personally I think having players replaying for no credit should be treated like 7-player tables:

- Technically legal but undesirable
- Only used to assist in making sure people have a game to play
- Subject to GM veto
- Investigated if it is symptomatic of a particular venue or area.

Wow, now that smacks of letting the GMs and VCs use their common sense...we can't have any of that, can we?

7. There are exactly 0 businesses that have a business plan that is designed to make things more difficult for frequent customers :)

My entire problem with this is that it's highly damaging to communities that meet frequently. It alienates players who want to play but don't feel comfortable GMing. It prevents high frequency players who also GM from enjoying a casual game at their leisure. It pushes the same high frequency players into a funnel where they GM for no credit, or have to compete with other GMs to be present at game day (because there are fewer GM slots than player slots, of course).

And the crappiest part is that the people who get hurt by it the most are the people who spend the most time in the community.

And we're supposed to tell these people to go home? =\

I completely agree with Acedio. We had someone sit in a game (used pre-gen) with four players two weeks ago because she had played all three of the scenarios being offered. I guess from now on we tell folks forget it, sorry you drove 40 min to get here. Go home or twiddle your thumbs and watch everyone else have fun. What is the purpose? Why does Paizo care if someone plays for no credit? It adds an unnecessary rule that will discourage your most frequent players from showing up to regular events. Senseless and not good for the gaming community we are trying to build. Please change the ruling.

Paladins eat goblin babies - Is there a special Licktoad sauce with that?

"People" will roll 20 sided dice from their extra appendage, but will still lose them under the table.

@Eretas Page 26 of Brinewall Legacy
"As the PCs’ caravan approaches Brinewall, impress upon
them the oppressive feeling of the place. The track they’ve
been following all this time passes about half a mile east of
Brinewall, continuing north and crossing the Steam River
into the Nolands over a weathered wood-and-stone bridge.
An old signpost about a hundred yards south of this bridge
reads “To Brinewall,” and points down an overgrown trail
that winds through a forest. This track quickly fades
away entirely into the undergrowth, and further progress
toward the ruined village must be made on foot."

I made some additional caravan trading rules for our Jade Regent campaign. You may find useful here. Good luck! I could see rewarding someone for taking profession merchant with a bonus, would need to work that in.
