Of course, you could skip that product, buy bases separately (once we figure out the costs), and keep them in a shoebox, as you suggest. :)
This set will feature lots of pawns that are specific to Rise of the Runelords, but it won't duplicate pawns from the Bestiary Box, so if you're going to want to maximize your pawn usage, you'll still want the Bestiary Box. Thanks to both of you - I now preordered the Bestiary box as well :-)
No box? I was really hoping for a cool little box to store these :-/
A shoe box must do then

More or less how I feel...

Not saying it will be bad or anything; given Paizo's overall AP quality, it'll probably wind up being quite good. But much like Legacy of Fire wasn't my thing, this isn't really my thing either. Kudos to all the pirate fans, though. =)
Got my book yesterday - thanks!!! A friends name is on it already....

There are at least a few of us left. I am sure there are others like me that lurk more than talk.
I agree ;-)
You are right, it did.
I just looked at this:
Paizo Order # 1571857, submitted December 10, 2010 at 01:07 AM (Europe/Copenhagen).
This order contains the following items:
1 x Pathfinder Roleplaying Game: Bestiary 2 (OGL) Hardcover (preorder) @ 33.99 = $33.99
1 x Pathfinder Adventure Path #40: Vaults of Madness (Serpent's Skull 4 of 6) (PFRPG) (preorder) @ 13.99 = $13.99
1 x Pathfinder Campaign Setting: Book of the Damned -- Volume 2: Lords of Chaos (PFRPG) Print Edition (preorder) @ 16.99 = $16.99
1 x Pathfinder Module: The Godsmouth Heresy (PFRPG) Print Edition (preorder) @ 11.89 = $11.89
Which I took as an indication that it would be shipped in one box.
But thanks!
I got the email last week as well, but today I got my shipments email and it was missing Serpent Skull #4? :-(
Dolf Carg wrote: Has anyone tried the pdf on an iphone/handheld yet? I'd like to get the pdf but I'm affraid it won't resize on my iphone and I'd have to read with my magnifying glass. I have the file on my Iphone, old 3Gs model, and it is readable on it, but it is a bit small. But much easier to read than the normal Paizo books as the format on the pages is single column. For your information I have been reading it using GoodReader...
Good notes coming in at the 3.5 sanctuary's pathfinder subforum:

Wildfire142 wrote: Nice to know and here in the UK smaller shipments with cheaper totals definitely attract less attention.
Great service always.
The same here in Denmark but around certain holidays they assign toll and vat to every single package.
Vic Wertz wrote: If you really think that the single package option is a better choice, you can contact customer service immediately after you get the "we're about to ship your subscription" e-mail, and tell them that you'd rather have the more expensive shipping method. (Note that in most cases you've only got a day or two to do this, though!) Thank you very much! Great service.
Lisa Stevens wrote: International shipments many times get split up into multiple shipments to save postage for y'all. Yes, it is CHEAPER to ship multiple packages. Yes, that makes no sense, but that is the way it is. In any case, our computer system automatically splits them into the best number of packages. As each package ships, you get your PDFs. With the many thousands of packages going out, it is not unthinkable that your shipments could be two to three days apart.

yes, thank you for saving me some money ón your end - bit actually I would really really like all my paizo stuff to ship in one package. The handling fee from the toll administration here on each package is much more than i imagine i save on shopping.
DM Wellard wrote: Order #1426835
Three items shown as shipping and 3 as pending..but I had it set to post with my AP volume so why isn't my AP volume shipping. Is this to do with the weight of the GMG?
Cos????????
I have something similar, 2 items seems to have shipped ( got the PDFs), the last three is pending. On my subscription page it is listed as one package, so a bit odd as well.
Any news on the Paizo Iphone apps yet? Or any chance you will show them off at PaizoCon?
Thanks!
This is going to be good!

;) :-) LOL
Hi Cosmo,
thank you, yes I saw your post there, but it really does not answer my question regarding splitting a single order into two packages. See my mid-June order for instance.
I am not referring to the two shipments in July but have "a problem" on a more general level when the packages gets to big and are split into smaller shipments to save on shipping. It may cost me way more at the other end than what is saved in direct shipping costs.
Hope that explains it a bit better :-)
Episode 10.... when will it air? Started looking for it last week.
I can only recommend that podcast, great show.
Hi,
I just want to make sure that order #1202726 is going to be automatically deleted so I dont get two copies of the first two books in the new Pathfinder Fiction subscription...
One another note, albeit there is a lot of talk about the strange shipping in June and July, but as I have written about a number of times the handling fee for adding VAT and Toll here in Denmark is close to 30 US$ PER package so I would in most cases really like my stuff to ship in just one package no matter the amount of books . Could that perhaps be added as an option somewhere on the subscription page so one could see how much more expensive one large package is versus 2 smaller ones in shipping costs? That would be highly appreciated!!
Thanks :-)
Gorbacz wrote: This is going to be a hot, long summer for overseas subscribers :) Indeed!!
Could someone at Paizo give us any indication, and perhaps prices is possible, if we would can get the entire July shipment to ship in one package to avoid having to pay twice for administrative charges by the VAT office (~30$ for each package in Denmark)?
Also, will our individually ordered Pathfinder fiction book order be automatically overwritten by the subscription copies? I ordered before the subscription was available but added a subscription to that line as well..... but one copy will be sufficient :-)
Thanks!
Just got my April package here in Denmark.
Shipped 22nd April - arrived 01.May
Fastest delivery I have ever experienced from Paizo!!
By just very quickly looking through the pdf and reading here and there this looks to be an amazing product!!!!
I would just like to add that my latest order from Paizo also had bend corners. Not that it requires replacements but just mention my concern of the present shipping packages (sturdy white envelopes)...

At a recent conference, Erik Mona mentioned that there were 3 apps being developed as far as I remember... are they going to be released together?

I am in Copenhagen as well and are interested in hearing more :-)

What I would really, really, really love to see is the behind the scenes details of how you think about, plot, outline, and prepare an adventure path. In particular, I'd like a focus on building exciting combat/non-combat encounters, creating good monsters, etc. It'd be great if the book broke apart the various APs and highlighted encounters that you guys were particularly proud of/dissappointed with. Great idea, I would really find such a book interesting!!
On a side note, would it be possible NOT to make your Twitter links direct you to Facebook but to Paizo pages directly. The other thing is a real pain.... Thank you :-)

Thats true, but here in Denmark you pay 25% vat on everything, and it is applied to all imported stuff outside EU if its value is above something like 15-18 US $... as far as I know..
Not to highjack Entropis thread, but the vat is ok to me, it is the fee from the custom service that is way to hígh, as it often doubles the price for the book shipment.
In Denmark the vat is 25%, but the fee from the custom service is what is killing subscribers here (about 25$ on each package excluding vat).

Entropi wrote: It is with heavy hands on the keyboard and regret in every letter that I must ask you to end all my subscriptions.
Unfortunately, the toll inspection fees here in Denmark have become to high for me to manage, to a point where a $20 shipment costs me an extra $40 to get through customs. Though I love my monthly Paizo shipment, this is too much for me.
I have, with very few exceptions, been fond of the subscription model. I have purchased several books this way that I would not otherwise have bought, and been plesently surprised. My monthly package from Paizo has been a great joy, although I often bought more than I intended to.
If, at any point in the future, you will be able to offer different options on what you write on the front of the packages for international shipment, I will definintely be back restarting all subscriptions.
Best regards
About 50% of my packages from Paizo seems to be subjected to toll inspection and subsequently with a fee (I live in Denmark too). That is why I would really like Paizo NOT to divide larger packages into to... The last major shipment from Paizo had me pay an additional 40$ since I had to pay the fee twice.
Any chance at all that Paizo could collect the toll and vat to get rid of the toll inspection fee?
