So I know it's more important to make sure we have a stable and playable 1-20 levels in the base PF2e, but I sure hope that some thought is being dedicated future-proofing the system, and that (those of us that want it; we do exist!) we get some kind of epic or mythic equivalent. I know it's not for everyone, but man I enjoy it.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

As title says, really.

DR numbers are so low as to be basically worthless. I really enjoyed the change in the way you bypass DR (having to use a silver weapon, holy weapon, slashing, etc.), but the DR itself (basically anywhere from 5-15) is so easily surpassed by melee characters that it doesn't really matter if you used the proper weapon or not, which IMO defeats the purpose.

So, has anyone experimented with using the higher DR numbers of 3.0 while using the bypass conditions of 3.5/PF?

Okay, so a human vampire, 16 character levels, built using a 25 point buy and with the advanced creature template on it. With PC-level wealth.

19? 20?

So although dragons are huge, powerful, and extremely long lived, in PF they are still mortal. Does anyone know of an upper age limit of a dragon? Has one ever been given? I know I can just make one up but I was curious if there was an "official stance".

Does anyone know if there's any info on him, other than the short blurb in Princes of Darkness? I find myself fascinated with him, despite knowing very little.

Anybody messed around with some kind of conversion? The template as-is in the ELH is too powerful for the scope of Pathfinder, since PF CR's top out at 30. So it would have to be heavily reworked, and I'm thinking it'd be a mythic template. Perhaps some kind of advanced 'Advanced Creature' template?

Any thoughts or ideas?

Would you? Could you? Is all that is required is gaining great power within the Abyss? Or is actually being a demon a necessity?

So, I need some ideas on how to stat up both the Crimson Stone and the Ebony Stone. For those that don't know, both stones are vampire treasures, artifacts. The Ebony Stone creates unending night in an unspecified area around the stone, and apparently grants enhanced protection (as in, beyond the standard vampire defenses) to its owner. Which it chooses, BTW. The Crimson Stone is powered by the soul of another powerful vampire (needed to complete the stone apparently), and grants its owner eternal life in the form of unlimited ressurection, and control over the Grim Reaper. It also bears the curse of the vampire, so if a human possesses it, they will contract vampirism.

Now, I have some mechanical ideas about both of them, but I wanted some fresh ideas if possible.

Thanks in advance!

Or the closest equivalent to what's already in the bestiaries. For example:

-Ultima Weapon (Atma Weapon) from Final Fantasy 6
-Doom Gaze from the same game (FF6)
-the four elemental arch fiends from Final Fantasy 4
-Leviathan from the Final Fantasy series
-Gigalmesh from the Final Fantasy series (Asurendra asura?)
-the Forgotten One from Castlevania: Lament of Innocence (Tzitzimitl)
-Galamoth from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
-Beelzebub from the SotN
-Death from Castlevania series (Shinigami with Mythic levels? Perhaps skeletal champion template?)

Just some examples off the top of my head. Any ideas? Anyone done anything like this before?

Has anyone here done it? What was your experience with it? Was it fun? Hard to run? Did the players have a good time? What were some of the challenges?

I'm thinking of one day running something like this in a mythic campaign. Just trying to get a feel for how I works in practice.

For those familiar with the game, any ideas on what class(es) he would have? Magus, or some fighter/sorcerer/eldritch knight combo?

Ok, so we know mythic rules are coming, and we know there will be rules for making "mundane" monsters mythic. But we also know there will be brand new pure mythic monsters in the book. So the question is, what old you like to see?

Note: I'm assuming that demon lords and arch devils will be in there or statted up eventually, so I'm not counting/listing them.

With that said:

-vampire lords/masters
-mythic nightshades
-3.0 abominations (I don't know if Paizo can use these)
-mythic linnorms
-a granfaloon/legion type monster from Symphony of the Night (amazing creature)

As a side note, I hope there are plenty of GM options for modifying/mythic-izing monsters in the book!

What are your wanted mythic beasties?

As the title says. I know Goodreader is popular, but I've also heard good things about PDF Expert by Readdle, which also got a retina update (I'm on the new iPad). It's 10 bucks though and don't wanna waste my money if it doesn't handle Paizos PDFs well.

So I wanna make an Achilles type NPC, based off the Brad Pitt rendition. Was thinking fighter, or a variant thereof, 16th level to have access to a 4th attack. Regular fighter seems good, as does the mobile fighter archetype. I think he wore breastplate in the movie? Advice on any of the above, along with specific feats, ability scores, alignment (CN?) would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know if this topic has been done before, but hopefully it wont hurt to do it again if it has. :p

1- Epic vampire template: Whether its a vampire master, the firstborn vampire, vampire lord, whatever you wanna call it.

2- Kaiju: I believe James made a comment that kaiju would be great for epic level challenges, and I agree!

3- Epic nightshades: They are referenced in the Bestiary II, and I'd love to see some of these bad boys statted up.

4- Abominations: One of the best (if not THE best) things to come out of the ELH 3.0, IMO. Go crazy I say.

5- A Paragon or Monster of Legend type template: Yes, some people overused it and tried slap it on everything, but used correctly it does have it's place, and can be neat flavor-wise.

What are the chances of either? These are the books that I would cheerfully kill for.

A nice, big book dedicated to the planes (written by Todd??) and the cosmology, with extensive sections giving tips on developing your own. The planes and general cosmology are probably my fav part of DnD (in all it's incarnations, PF included).

And of course, my love for epic ties in with my love for the planes and other places of supernatural wonder. I would really, really love to see Paizo's take on epic. For the record, although the 3.0 ELH was deeply flawed in a number of ways, it also was (imo) very flavorful and jammed packed with great ideas in theory . With the great minds and gentle hands of Paizo at work, im sure it would be awesome. Epic needs some love!

I know you guys and gals are super busy with Ultimate Magic and Combat, and the bestiary's, but that wont stop me from begging! :p
