The player controlling the tengu ninja was drunk and laughing through it all. We told him that was the wrong thing to do. We were conflicted with what to do and everyone took off without waiting for the group. We ended game hiding out in the nearby forest away from town. The GM said there was likely to be a bounty, and trial once we were captured. Seeing that people saw us earlier as newcomers and later, townsfolk viewed us fleeing from town, I'm think I need to turn myself in. Accept whatever small town justice comes my way and roll up another character. I doubt the "alchemist" will get out of this once captured, he's level 1. Knowing some insight about our GM, I think we will all have to roll up new characters. Any thoughts on any of this? Boot the lush. I find it odd that in this age of information the people just don't know about zombies or the general rules that govern zombies.
Its almost always treated like a brand new thing, the dead coming back to life to nom the living, yet our current zombie mythos has been around for the majority of the lifetime of adults (Night of the Living Dead in 1968). Did their Earth just not have any zombie media prior to the plague? Were their zombie myths drastically different than the ones plaguing humanity? Did you need to spout a litany of prayers while using gold bullets fired by naked virgins to stop them in the myths and that's why people didn't initially think to be silent, go for the head with hand weapons, and wear protective clothing
I believe it has been explicitly stated by the creators that in this universe, there was no George Romero to kick off the "Zombies as Undead Flesh Eaters" trope. The only thing people knew of zombies were from Voodoo movies which are vastly different. Also an explantation as to why they aren't using the "Z" word. In fact, most other zombie apocalypse movies are the same way except for Return of the Living Dead, which they gave an explanation for in movie.

He said he wanted to play a Barbarian Rogue, not that he specifically was dead set on playing a Barbarian/Rogue multiclass.
In fact, he DID say this:
Quote: So telling me to get rid of rogue doesn't really help. So telling him to play one class when he *specifically* identified another as preferable is just dumb and unhelpful.
I just went over all the posts again, and nowhere in the OP's posts did he say "oh sure, I'll go from Barb with a dash of "back-stabbing thief in the night" to Barb with a dash of "Dr Jekyll". To say it a different way, the OP may not know all the wonderful syngeries between Barb and Alchemist (I don't either, why don't you explain them please), so using your example, it would not seem counter-intuitive to go from Ranger to Druid (Both outdoorsy, works with animals may have the ability to shape-shift, etc) however, going from Grey Mouser to Dr. Jekyll...well...unless the reasons are lined out, it just sounds like the responder is just regurgitating what was said previously, with no explanation.
I guess the responder could be a real smartass and say "The reasons are out there go look for them", but how would that help the OP?
So far the only person who has tried has been Shadowlord. "Yes" I know he suggested Fighter, but he explained why as well.
And before this goes down a road neither of us wants to tread...I'm not singling you out Rynjin.
Not sure why Alchemist was even brought up since the OP stated quite clearly:

For example, Gandalf, a 10th level wizard, wants to use a scroll of Fireball. Gandalf is a wizard of high enough level to cast the spell, so he does not need to make a UMD check (or any other kind of check) to cast the spell. Gandalf can also use wands and staves of Fireball with no problems.
Gandalf's apprentice, a 1st level wizard, can also use wands and staves of Fireball with no problem since these are spell trigger items and don't have a level requirement. However, if the apprentice wants to use a scroll of Fireball, he must make a caster level check (not a UMD check) since he can cast wizard spells but has a lower caster level than the scroll (5, for a typical scroll of Fireball).
Pippin, a rogue, sneaks into Gandalf's workshop and wants to try the wands, scrolls, and staves. Pippin is not a wizard or a member of any class that has Fireball on their spell list. He has to make a UMD check to use any of these items. Since Pippin likes to play with other classes' magic, UMD is very useful for him.

Mages weren't held in the highest of steems back then by raiders) where the Raid/Guild Leader went truly bananas on the voice chat.
We got in trouble in the Suppression Room (that horrible, horrible part where they have those insufferable AoE slows) and kept dying. At some point, the voice chat exploded with a discussion between the Raid/Guild Leader and the Main Tank, shifting the blame on each other. Eventually it spilled over and everyone but those of us invited were yelling at each other.
Then the Raid/Guild Leader starts shouting "I'M TAKING AWAY ALL YOUR GUILD HONOUR! ZERO HONOUR, ZERO HONOUR!" and kicks people out one by one. Then there's just him and us three guys invited, and he tells us something like "I hate unprofessional players. You guys wanna join the guild?".
So we politely declined and left the raid, which was followed by several (and I do mean several) /tells in the line of "You suck anyway, I would have kicked you out in a day" and "You know? I would have given you Guild Honour just to have the chance to take it away", though with several insults and leet-speak laced in. O

Lately, though, it seems like I'm becoming less and less enamored of actually running the game. Specifically it's just running combats and interacting with NPCs that seem to drag, but that's like 90% of the game.
Does anyone else have any tips on how to get enthusiastic about DMing again?
My table has seven people at it. Every last person at that table is REQUIRED to DM something. We don't care how silly or serious it is, so long as we know up front. Everyone picks their game and generally sticks with it. We currently have one Pathfinder game, Star Wars d20, Dark Heresy, Deathwatch, Deadlands (the old version with the cards and chips), Shadowrun and one game up in the air atm. When one DM starts feeling the fatigue, he asks if anyone is ready to run. We then decide on one or two weeks lead time and then change games for a while.

Heck, even if you ask the GM for a re-roll on that one stat. One touch from a Shadow and you're toast, man. And trust me...it is ridiculously easy for a shadow to get a touch off on a character (maybe not a monk, but still...)
Something funny I was thinking about just now. If the characters die, then the trolls get their loot right?
So, the players should make about a bakers dozen of characters, run them up to the trolls, get themselves killed except for the last character per player. That means (12 characters (@lvl 5-6)X #of players)= huge bank for last set of characters. God I wish it worked that way LOL

i have never played a game like this before in my life, ever. Neither has anyone i'm going to play with. This is like, a new confusing world for me. i managed to get some tokens (which dont match the ones in the game masters guide :c) to represent the goblins, the spiders, the skeletons and blackfang(the black dragon token is very fitting), and i clumsily punched in all the info from the pregen character sheets (the character sheet in FG2 doesnt match the pregen character sheets, im so confused as to if i even did it right) and i have the map set up on FG2 with masking and all that, but thats about it.
i know i messed some stuff up, like my wizard's spells are all in 'special abilities' (that thing to the right of feats) -.-
I have little experience in any of this, i've been messing around for hours, making some project, but the actual thing is going to be so daunting, especially as a first time GM of stuff i've never done, i dont even know the rules that well~
So what advice do you have to give me?
============
TL:DR Version - i got some stuff set up, possibly incorrect, everything is daunting, can i have advice from the veterans about how to do this smoothly?
===========
Thank you all!
Welcome to gaming Number 7! First things first. Since this will be your first session ever, pick a spot in your adventure to end for the night. If your adventure is broken down into "Chapters" that would be a good spot, so long as the Chapter isn't that long. Point being, I find it easier to remember a short list of stuff, than trying to remember everything in the entire adventure. It provides a good point for you to produce your (first ever!) cliffhanger. YAY!
Second. Try to think of things cinematically. Sure it's really easy to say "You swing your sword. It hits. Roll damage please". Players usually get into the game if you can give a little cinematic description to really good hits "Your overhand chop bisects the orc's head. For a second, each eye scan's the room quizzically before the body falls over in a wet heap!" Even regular hits can have an exciting "zing" to them if you have time.
Third. Most important is that you and the players have fun. Remind them that sometimes a mistake will be made. You may not play fully within the rules each and every second of the game. But if you guys are having fun, no one will care.

"...Creatures with darkvision can see in an area of dim light or darkness without penalty..."

The Current Party consists of:
- A Kitsune Flame Oracle
- A homebrew Warlock (3.5) conversion
- An INT-based Sorcerer bloodline (also homebrew - note the theme)
- A Dwarven Rogue
- A Ranger Homebrew (swapping out spellcasting ability - for the girl who just wants to stab things alongside her kitty

After significant deliberation, I've opted to go with a Sword Saint Samurai, with a slightly modified Order of the Star (swapping Calling for the Bard's Versatile Performance)
So! That's a fair bit of detail, I realize - but every build thread I've seen has requested more, not less context, so there we have it.
The character is racially a Nagaji variant (flavor-wise, it combines the Nagaji & Vishkanya; mechanically, it swaps out Serpent's Sense for the Toxic ability) because if you hadn't noticed yet, this isn't exactly PFS play as regards RAW. :)
