Qadira (M Human Cleric (of Abadar) 2)

Back ahead of schedule.

Mentally reviewing the last few moments of the battle, and his dwindling reserves of magic, Sollus mutters a blessing and directs it towards guiding Marra's hand in battle. Guidance, +1 to her next attack roll, saving throw or skill check within the next minute.

He begin moving towards the fallen hippogriff and rider, all too aware that he has no further tricks up his sleeve that could affect the otyugh.

Qadira (M Human Cleric (of Abadar) 2)

"Great maker!" Sollus exclaims, wondering what on Golarion could have brought them crashing to the ground. His first instinct is to run to see if they can be saved...

"Can we get to them, do you think?" he asks, looking as if he's ready to bolt in that direction already, his healer's instincts overriding common sense.

Which is dependent upon whether or not the otyugh is coming back and if there is rioting going on in the area, as he doesn't want to abandon the group to run off into a wild mob!

Qadira (M Human Cleric (of Abadar) 2)

Sollus curses his poor tactics, that he did not step within range to take advantage of the opportunity that his divine pronouncement has made possible...

Qadira (M Human Cleric (of Abadar) 2)

In the midst of the fray, Sollus spares a moment to glance at the fallen guard who did not obviously perish in an instant. He doesn't want to take his eyes away from the more pressing danger, but he looks for signs that this guard may yet be saved, such as gasping for breath or the movement of blood.

Not sure if Perception or Heal is what to roll here, so I did both. Perception 14, Heal 17

Qadira (M Human Cleric (of Abadar) 2)

Realizing suddenly that the beast actually spoke recognizable words when it emerged, howling for meat, Sollus takes the chance that it can understand his words.

"Flee! Back whence you came, in the name of the Lord of Cities!" he shouts, calling upon the authority of Abadar as he does.

Command spell, DC 14 Will save to resist. If it fails, it retreats from him for one round, hopefully provoking attacks of opportunity in the process. Only the word 'flee' is part of the command, and the beast is by no means required to go anywhere but away from Sollus.

Qadira (M Human Cleric (of Abadar) 2)

Sollus is momentarily paralyzed by the site of the fallen guard, his neck unnaturally bent. The suddenness with which life can be taken away robs him of breath.

Init 9

Intended action, for speed of play, may change dramatically after Marra's action...

Shaking off the horror and dragging his gaze away from the man, he retreats into his teachings, muttering an invocation to Abadar to enhance the strength of the largest weapon in arm's reach, Marra's Falcata.

Magic Weapon, the Falcata has +1 to hit and damage and is a magic weapon for the next two minutes. Depending on Marra's action, this will likely take place after her first attack, and he may have to step uncomfortably close to the tentacled sewer-monster to do so, which he will do without hesitation.

Qadira (M Human Cleric (of Abadar) 2)

Sollus speaks up a bit too quickly, perhaps cutting off anyone else who was about to speak, "I speak only for myself, but I would be honored to help restore order to our city. This chaos cannot continue."

Morning Harrow roll, 6, one time bonus to a Cha check.

Qadira (M Human Cleric (of Abadar) 2)

Sollus choose to remain silent, merely giving whatever level of bow seems appropriate to the audience (carefully avoiding making a spectacle of himself) and nodding in gratitude as the queen's seneschal hands over the reward. His eyebrows dip slightly at the heft of the golden bars, but he fixes a smile to his face and bows his head again.

Out of the presence of the Queen, which, frankly, terrified him, he finally regains his focus and as Sabine leaves them together for a time, he listens attentively to Pavo's introduction and responds somewhat distractedly.

"And I am Sollus Cornelian, from the Bastion of Abadar. It is a pleasure to meet you as well." The greeting seems fairly ritualized, and doesn't really match up to Pavo's words, and Sollus turns to face Tamarie, unfolding the velvet to reveal four golden ingots.

"I am uncertain as to why these were handed to me, but I'm sure that I was meant to share them with you." he says, handing Tamarie two of the ingots.

Qadira (M Human Cleric (of Abadar) 2)

Sollus gets up as Tamarie leaves, attempting to be courteous but flubbing the timing and missing the opportunity to make a good impression. Shrugging, he snags up the non-perishables 'for later' and heads to his room, where he stores the food items out of reach of any vermin (perhaps in the top shelf of a wardrobe that latches shut).

He carefully cleans and de-crumbs his outfit for the morning, not wishing to meet the Queen with gravy stains on the fine outfit she has lent him for the occasion!

He frets for a moment about whether he would even be able to sleep after the events of the last day, and with such a momentous morning ahead of him, but his head hits the luxurious pillows and suddenly it is morning... He wakes up wondering how anyone can get out of bed, with such opulent comfort, and forces himself with a groan to get up and make his daily prayers, placing his hands on the cool stone of the palace walls, finding the patterns of his god in the straight lines and enduring strength of the architecture.

Skills adjusted, thanks!

Qadira (M Human Cleric (of Abadar) 2)

"My thanks for this extravagant feast, milady." Sollus says, with a small bow. It's apparent from the items he's consumed that he selected the most perishable items to eat, and has squirreled away a quantity of hard cheese and bread 'for later' in a napkin.

"Hopefully, what remains of this will not go to waste..."

Qadira (M Human Cleric (of Abadar) 2)

In case it's relevant, today's Harrowed benefit gives a +2 bonus to a single Wisdom check, Wisdom-based skill check or Will save. 5

Qadira (M Human Cleric (of Abadar) 2)

Sollus' eyes furrow at the sight of the sumptuous spread laid out before them, but he puts that sour expression away quickly and looks instead grateful. He's wearing robes that seem appropriately clerical, in slate-gray with cloth-of-gold embroidered trim.

At the sight of the woman from the adjoining room, hair down and cutting a very different figure in her blue dress, he stands up again with a start and extends a welcome.

"Greetings. I am Sollus, of the Bastion of Abadar. I believe I saw you earlier, in front of the church, fighting alongside the Hellknights, although I'm afraid I never caught your name in the confusion..."

Qadira (M Human Cleric (of Abadar) 2)

Sollus' head is awhirl. It seemed like only yesterday the city was engulfed in chaos and flames, and he only did what he felt was right, pushing his Abadar-given talents to their utmost to heal those who were injured in the madness that swept over the city, to attempt to comfort those who worked so hard to keep the city under control. It felt like Korvosa itself was screaming, and he never consciously chose to react the way he did.

He could hardly believe that he had been summoned to the castle itself, and could only assume that some of the guardsmen he'd healed had praised him highly. A woman with the bearing of a warrior had also been escorted into the castle, and directed to the room next to his own, along with some others that he only saw in the distance.

He shooed the fluttering acolyte out of the room, before setting aside his soot-and-blood stained robes and choosing from the ostentatious outfits provided to find one that wasn't too gaudy, preferably in brown and golden colors. The bath was luxurious, and Pontus' interruptions made him uncharacteristically impatient with the man, who was only doing his duties, after all. He attempted an apology for his abruptness, but the man's polite dismissal only served to make him feel worse, as he was sure that this functionary received more than his fair share of unearned dismissal.

great, now many people have received their Core? I got mine today. One of the reasons I let you guys have a sleep and clean-up before meeting with Queen Ileosa.

Not here yet, so Sollus will have to stick to Beta until it arrives.

And here's a potential new healer, Sollus Cornelian, Cleric of Abadar.

Hardest part of character creation? Picking just two Domains (earth, so, so fun, but, alas, not appropriate to the character concept) and picking a damned avatar! Argh! There are about *fifty* neat inspiring women avatars that send character ideas flying through my brain, and most of the men are just, 'meh.'
