I got some cool stuff to share around the campfire. Tomorrow afternoon I leave to "Carnage on the Mountain!", where I am going to play Pathfinder all weekend long. My good friend Tirion is joining me and we are going to be starting up two new dwarven Pathfinder Society characters to take on Golarion! I have a dwarven priest of Cayden Cailean and Tirion has a dwarven Zen Archer. We are starting out with Murder's Mark and ending with the weekend with Feast of Ravenmoor. It should be an awesome time! Our GM has five stars. That sounds pretty impressive!

I thank you for allowing me to bring them the gift of water breathing, but I also ask that you keep a protective eye or two on them. They have a great deal of courage for going down under the sea and I ask that you also grant them strength to withstand the elements and to bash any creatures who try to cause them pain. Please allow them to overcome any obstacles stopping them and let them find whatever clues they can down there. Bring them back aboard safely so that we may drink to their health once again. Also, if you have anything to help my poor sea sick friend, Karlan, please send it this way or let me help sooth his queasiness. I am willing to help in whatever way I can, but let's make it happen! I am your humble servant, Celestra! Oh and one more thing, Cayden. I want to thank you for bringing Alana into my life! She is a most amazing person! Please always keep her safe and nearby! I am back from a great week in Maine, but I am heading off in a few days to go to Gencon.

I did not see any moose, but I did do a lot of paddling and I saw eight loons all hanging out on the lake with me. I had a blast!

Wonder how Harp's vacation is going? That moose business was great stuff.

Hey Bilbo, Actually it begins tomorrow. But I am totally psyched because I just purchased kayaks for the whole family! I was trying mine out yesterday on a small pond nearby and they glided along the surface of the water with such ease. We saw great blue herons, loons and we even snuck up on turtles sunbathing on a log. I am going to have a great week! I leave first thing in the morning!

Zyren, please note my above post that I will be away. I am so glad that you enjoyed Venice. I have fond memories of that place. My wife and I, when we were poor backpackers, managed to get a free boat ride through the waterways to the Murano glass factory. I soon discovered why it was free. The tour was interesting, but this was really about them wanting me to purchase lots of glass. It felt like it was mafia run and the pressure to buy was huge. I was sure the guy in the suit hovering around us was named Guido. When we told him we could not afford anything in the show room, he looked disappointed but took us to the next show room that was just a little cheaper. Finally after meekly slipping through several of these show rooms, we snuck by a guard dog and ran out of the place trying to find a way off of the island. You see, the boat ride was only one way! That was an exciting time! However I always seemed to run into the temperamental merchant that would explode with anger if you didn't buy anything.

Thanks, Bilbo! I'm thinking it will be great! Last year when I stayed at this lakeside cabin, I was paddling out on this lake in the early morning, I was checking out some strange branches sticking out of the water. When I got close, the branches came out and I realized that they were not branches at all, but antlers attached to a moose! What an awesome sight. Did you know that moose are really quite good at swimming?

Hi guys, I am going on vacation to a remote cabin in Maine on the week of August 5 - 9th. There will be no electricity and certainly no internet. The following week I leave for Gencon on August 14th and will not be back until August 19th. Please DMPC all of my characters as needed.

This all came up because last night I was camping out in a remote shelter on the side of Mt. Washington with my wife. Just after midnight I awoke to this noise in the bushes. Thinking that I was going to have to defend my food from an oversized rodent, I turned on my head lamp to find a huge moose standing only a few feet away chomping away on a branch. It basically ignored my headlamp and kept on eating. For several minutes we just gazed upon this massive creature with awe. It eventually just tromped off, but it was pretty cool!

I remember a time about two years ago when I would get up in the early morning hours, post every free minute during the day, and then stay up til the late hours of the night getting in an extra post. I would even wake up in the middle of the night to sometimes check and post. I was posting as much as I could and still having trouble keeping up with the campaigns. They were intense, exciting times, but my work and family life suffered terribly. My problem was that I was so hooked on the story lines that I could not stop myself from checking. I also felt like I was letting everybody down if I didn't post every couple of hours. I think I am a lot more balanced right now, but I remember those times fondly.

Turning to Ailetha, Celestra comments, "Oh and Ailetha, please don't correct me in front of the enemy as you did. I was trying to buy us time and find the location of his lair. Now instead of being able to plan at our leisure, we have to meet back with the beast in two days time. I am not sure this is a good friend to have!"

Hello Folks,

I am just giving a heads up that I will be away on vacation with the family next week. We will be gone basically Sunday through Saturday. I will have my little Ipod so I may be able to post some small things in the evenings provided that the hotel has a good internet service. However, if I am absent, that is the explanation. Always feel free to DMPC any of my characters if you are inclined. Have a great week.

This was true, but the part that was really funny was that I wore a pair of green nickers and long wool socks with a white shirt when I competed. I had written a piece of music called the Highland Way, but for the competition, I called it 'A Dance with a Leprechaun'. HOL - My original character and introduction to PBP and I am still loving it. I had transition troubles when the games slowed down, but I think I am adequately adjusted. I've picked up a few more games and am feeling content with the story, characters, and pace. This particular campaign sometimes feels really intense when Solaric is in a moral dilemma, but it makes for a rich story that is a lot of fun to play. However, I agree with Shifty. I will be glad when the tournament is done and we can be together as a single party again.

HOD - Has always been fun to play. Kyren Tosscobble has been a favorite character of mine for a long time. However, sometimes I really think the characters are not united in purpose. Kyren certainly has a motive to find the Andoran Bill of Freedom, but for someone like Alcheringa (who I love as a character btw), I am not sure why he would hang with the Wee Bluets. I am curious how our new characters will change the party dynamics and add to that sense of common purpose.

HOR - Celestra is certainly growing up and Alana has been a wonderful addition for her in the party. I hope you do not mind how things are developing as she explores this new relationship. I also like the fact that I feel she is able to contribute more in combat than ever before. I hope the priest of Cayden Cailean that loves to drink is not getting too old for any of you. I am trying to balance the drinking aspect with other qualities of the this deity such as a love for travel and in particular a great concern for orphans.

Overall Zyren, your games are awesome and all the characters are an inspiration for me to try and improve my own campaign! Thanks again for all the great adventures! Without them, I know I would be suffering from withdrawal.

As soon as the creature is destroyed, Celestra rushes behind the curtain to find Alana. Taking her in a gentle embrace, the aasimar brings what comfort she can to her friend.

"Alana, my luv, let me hold you. There is no need to be afraid any more. The beast has been slain and we are all safe now! Everything will be well again! Come, my dear, feel my touch and let go of your fear! Come out and I will show you! Cayden Cailean was watching over us and brought us victory!"

Celestra escorts Alana back into the room, sits her down in a chair and gets her a glass of wine.

"Are any of you still hurt? Please gather close and I will heal those wounds!"

Channel Energy 3d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 3) = 12

Turning to the newcomer, Celestra asks, "And who are you to arrived just in time to save us from such a beast? Whoever, you are, you are about two minutes late to the battle. However, regardless of your timing, it is nice to see another face in the Captain's Inn. I am Celestra. What's your name, stranger?"

I'm glad you mention that, Shifty. I find that is the hardest thing for me as a DM on PBP. I feel like I am constantly checking the messageboards trying to move things along and make sure that I keep nobody waiting. I know that life happens, to me especially, but playing pathfinder this way, requires a great deal of patience. However, I also know that it is far better than not playing at all. I also love keeping in touch with friends old and new all over the world!

Celestra returns Alana's kiss gently, savoring the moment like a delicious morsel of delight. A smile comes to her face as her heart leaps and her whole mood brightens. "I am so glad to have you as a friend, Alana!"

Once they rejoin the others, she listens to the others discuss their options, but she keeps glancing at half-elf inconspicuously.

No problem, Edvard! Jus do what you can and I'll take care of the rest!

Well, today there was an awesome moment when I played amazing grace for a crowd of a few thousand people on my electric harp! When the piece finished, a dozen pipe bands came marching in! It was an amazing experience!
