Sohali Draws his bow and nocks an arrow before letting it fly at the Halfling with the evil moustache.
Bow 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 211d8 ⇒ 6
Perception 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Dealing what appears to be a decent ammount of damage to the irrate little man with the large axe.
Oh, and I know this is out of sync but I don't want to slow the game if I'm sleeping later so I'll put this up. If the halfling is downed before I fire I'll aim at the most threatening person not in melee or at the closest person in melee if I have to fire into melee.
I've had my couple of verbal swipes at her and have a decent idea what I'll report to the boss "She isn't evil but she's an alcho and she's willing to use scrolls to heal random strangers, it seems harmless enough but someone who needs regular donations from charity can't afford to be charitable, there was a reason she used the scroll to befriend us and someone with nothing to hide doesnt need to buy our affection." at least thats what I have roughly. Oh, and something set my evil-dar off slightly but I had no reason to tear up someone elses home to look for old hate mail.
"Excuse me Madam but I have a question before we leave" Sohali says while standing in the kitchen "My companion Vermin was attacked by some small beasts and indeed seemed to have been suffering from an affliction which you seem to have reversed. My question is thusly, why when children are lying still sick in your home would you waste such a scroll on a complete stranger rather than one of your wards?"
Sohali seems genial enough and smiles towards the lady before suddenly freezing with a look of terror on his face.
“My dear Lady Pharasma” Sohali exclaims “Lady Baltwin I am a holy man of Pharasma and I can sense a darkness in this home. Some foul spirit has taken up residence, allow me to enter, find the location of this blight and perform an exorcism to lay it to rest. If I do not do this thing you will possibly be cursed unto death before even another moon cycle has passed”.
Sohali might be laying it on a bit thick so Diplomacy 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
"Good afternoon Gilga Baltwin" Sohali stands as he greets the appearance of the proprietor of the orphanage "I was just being instructed in this game of "Marbles" and conversing with the children".
I know it’s a crutch but I’m going to scan her with detect evil as long as she doesn’t have a lead sheet in front of her :P
Sohali ponders what may cause the orphanage's patron to send the children out during the day. Hopefully for some kind of apprenticing and not as a group of cutpurses. The latter seemed unlikely though, it would be much too stereotypical for them to be used in such a manner.
"Keeping a maker of fine whiskey in business does not sound good I must admit" Sohali says once the group is away from the people they were interviewing once again.
"Thank you Lady Ollysta, it will be our pleasure to take these supplies to the orphanage an I will personally talk with this Gilga Baltwin to ascertain their character.” Sohali says with a slight bow of the head. From his tone and manner you believe that Sohali is a little humbled to be in the presence of such a prestigious member of a Paladin Order.
”Worry not my compatriots, I the incredibly talented Sohali shall go fetch the boat and move it under the warehouse to help prevent the possible damage of property in the case that the floor shall give way” Sohali says after collecting his arrows from the carcass of the rat "Sadly my knowledge of medical practices are lacking". Holding the dead vermin for a moment he considers mumbling a quick prayer over its death but decides against it, Pharasma would likely be more offended then pleased by a prayer for a rat’s soul.
Sohali hops back a few paces as the rat approaches, his robes flapping with the motion as he draws another arrow to fire at the little beast.
Our GM has some kind of crystal ball action going on, Sohali is going to take a step back to S5 and then take another shot at the wounded rat. 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15, 1d8 ⇒ 3
Apologies on the lack of posting today, my internet is being a bastard and dropping out on me a lot. I'm getting a guy to come have a look at it tomorrow so hopefully that'll help but if you need to bot me to keep the actions flow going feel free.
Edit: Also I have to agree on the Kingmaker game, think its the shortest pbp I've been in. About four posts from the GM :P
Sohali seeing the rats springing out from amongst the debris in the warehouse quickly spins on the spot and looses the arrow he had held drawn. Aiming for one of the beasts furthest from the group he misses widely and burrows an arrow in the warehouse's wall.
Sorry, long day and my internet has been crapping out on me, not sure why. So I’m aiming to fire an arrow at the rat at X5. 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14,1d8 ⇒ 2.
Edit: I presume I've missed :)
"Perhaps if I was a man of lesser morals and I was willing to participate in the recovery of the box and the content it contains I would suggest that we would "borrow" the boat tied to the pier and bring it under the box on the chance that the floor collapses" Sohali says looking more than a little embarrassed to be suggesting something that aids in what might be robbery.
Sohali follows slightly behind the general group his bow once again drawn and an arrow nocked ready for action. His pace is slow and it is easy to tell that he is a little uneasy with the idea of breaking and entering even if it is for a just cause.
Going to move to N4 to try and take advantage of the boxes as cover while watching the warehouse for movement, whole readied action schtick again since it seems to be an alright idea :P
Heh, apologies, I know it's way too much of a debatable issue but I'm basically going to play it that way, Good outweighs Law and if anyone has a problem with it just let me know and I'll see what I can do to fix any problems with the playstyle (Basically if you think I'm too lax on the Code give me a word here or PM and let me know).
For a bit of a side divergence though, what do you guys think of Lawful Good Paladins, and by that I'm addressing the dichotomy of being both Lawful and Good with the addition of the Paladin Code. Basically my problem stems from being both Lawful and having a Code that you must follow where the Paladin apparently has to become Chaotic to follow his code so as to not become anything other than Lawful Good. What do I mean by the idiotic wording of the previous sentence, okay suppose I’m a Paladin of Iomedae and I see some guys being captured as slaves, according to the Code I have to help them or risk losing my Paladin powers, yet I must also remain Lawful and Good to also retain my powers. What happens to me if I see the slaves being mistreated in say Cheliax (since slavery is legal there), according to Faiths of Purity I have to either save the slaves no matter the situation or save three groups of saves within a short period (GM Defined) to atone for not getting my party murdered.
"This does not seem to be the sort of work my vows would allow me to undertake" Sohali says with a slight bow "I do not curse or condone you but perhaps it would help my conscience if I were to go outside and study the rustic architecture"
Good to his word the Paladin quietly exists the shop and stands near the entrance studying the docks, apprently with a keen eye towards the architecture.
"There was a man in a store near the docks, a matter of a rare book or collection of rare books, shall that be our next destination?" Sohali asks, glad to be back out of the vault and under the warmth of the days sun. As he walks along the streets it is easily noted that he has left his bow strung for now but is carrying it harnessed to his back alongside the quiver of arrows.
