Thanks Mike, you're the best!

I think there are too many posts in a row with five stars next to them in this thread. Hopefully my post breaks that up a bit.

Congratulations on your five-star acquisition.

WHAT IS THIS? MERELY FOUR STARS? BE GONE PEASANT!

I'm trying to decide how pissed off new people should be that they never got the chance to play with a summoner or vivisectionist before they got banned.

Or how pissed off a new player should be that they didn't get the chance to play the playtest version of the warpriest before the ACG comes out this August and (psuedo)nerfs the class.

Or how pissed off a new player should be that they didn't get to play during the Zero Year when clerics channeling positive energy both healed the living and damaged undead AT THE SAME TIME (so broken).

Oh...right...They shouldn't be pissed off. It's a game, right?

VERY ANGRY!

Is this still a game?

If you want to win Pathfinder, you gotta go first!

Until you try something how can you possibly judge it?

Why would you shove anything in the face of someone who has volunteered 4-5 hours of their time to provide free entertainment to you?
Because it is a silly ruling made to ruin a player's character concept and it deserves to be mocked.

Everyone knows that GMs are just out to get players, duh.

Skip the math on high die rolls.
That's a good point. A lot of time at the table is wasted by players or GMs looking up a DC target before the roll is made. JUST ROLL THE DIE. Even if all the modifiers aren't known yet, it's a fair bet at Tier 3-4 that a 4 on the d20 is a failed Will save for a fighter, while an 18 on the die is going to succeed. If there's still a question/quibble, THEN they can look it up. Keep the game moving.

Yeah, what he said. Except at high tiers. Nothing more priceless than a competent fighter type rolling a 19, claim it's a crit threat, start rolling again to confirm, and then I stop them and say, "well what's the total on the attack roll?"

I leaning more toward going now, although I'll probably be staying off-site to save $$. I'm thinking I'll show up with a bunch of generic tokens and see how everything goes. That, or I'll sit down at Bob's Iron Medusa table and make him suffer through my oracle/ninja.
