the front of the shed(B) is a short wall with bars above and a door with a lock. ... the stables front (right half of stables on map) is also a low wall but open above other than the support 4x4 beams for the roof. The walkway around the perimeter is about 8 feet high, the walls a little over 10, the watchtowers close to 20 feet high. You rotate watch duty through a very quiet night. A few chirping crickets calling out... too early in the season for the whole orchestra of insects.
He calls out to Rogar- loud enough to wake any nearby light sleepers "Oi! I put yer supplies from Restov in here." points to some crates and baskets along the low wall of the stables.
Just as Smedley said...a couple hours ofter nightfall, you see a faint warm light leaking out from what appears to be a wooden fort up ahead. You soon see it more clearly as you approach - there is little to block your view. There are very few trees around but as you come nearer you see the gentle slope of the ground to the south of the road; a view of a dark mass of forest is visible in the moonlight, a few miles from where you are. Wisps of fog cling to the treeline like cobwebs of an abandoned home.
The sun goes down and the three-quarter moon starts to appear through the breaking clouds. The world turns shades of dark and faded blue in the dim moonlight.... The conversation comes and goes... most of the time, the rhythmic clopping of the horses - and the grinds and chirps of the wagon wheels are the only sounds that come from the group.
Smedley loads the carcasses into the covered wagon he has been driving, and covers them with a tarp. He looks at the position of the sun.. a few hours past noon "Making fair time... be there in time fer a late supper." He then climbs back into the driver's seat and you start out again.
The entangled canine attacking Rogar starts to go into a wild frenzy. After judging the "length of leash" from the gripping vines, Rogar is able to provide a clean death. The vines from Ta'de-win's spell draw the now limp animal in, as if claiming the body.
You travel for a few hours, the farmlands on your right, the desolate unnatural border of the Stolen Lands to your left. As you continue the farms fade further from the road, until they disappear completely.
I would also like perception checks for next time they are needed on the road... if there is something you wanted from town and didn't have a chance to tell me, let me know as soon as possible
"There's food at Oleg's... plenty tuh hunt if yuh don't like Svetlana's cookin'... I'll be 'round ever week er two if yuh need sumpthin from Restov or New Stetven." He looks at the sky " Will be pert' near a ten to twelve hour ride. Be there few hours after dark. " Spoiler: If you would like to post a coordinate on the map to give me an idea where everyone's default spot for the ride there will be ... just in case... the covered wagon with Smedley driving is yours, the driver bench is a little cramped for two but he can scoot over.
The wagon driven by Alice is Smedley's... there is a tarp, rolled up on the side that he rolls over his goods when it rains but at the moment there is no sign of rain. ride to Oleg's
Smedley takes over the reins and gives Alice a quick lesson while the rest of the group finds suitable places to sit. "Dem horses made this trip hunnerd times." He says reassuringly again, once he feels Alice has the hang of it.
"This the lot of yuh then? Hop in! I'll give yuh a ride to the stables if yuh got horses... uh I do hope one yuh can drive a wagon? " He looks around "Well if not ...one yuh get over here and take over Elray and Vera, they know the way ... weuh'll just hope we don't run inna any reason to H'ya dem horses." Smedley hops down to take over the reins of your wagon. |
