Very nice. Thanks for the link.

I'm not a 4e player either, but they're testing the system. They'll need results from the various playtesters that reflect common experiences and variances within the system, so they need a common game system.

No matter what your preferred game, using one game for the test sounds entirely reasonable.

I won't have time to participate, but the idea sounds great.

Good luck!

I've looked at the program on a PC and was impressed. Put me down as a "yes" for a Mac version.

"The Lady in White" & "The Changling." Both are ghost stories, no (or little) gore, but high on tension.

"Lady" also has a child protagonist, which may make it more personal for the younger set.

Can we get an avatar of the two copper piece for when we need to add our opinion to a thread?

I love this idea.

Briefly, perhaps healing potions could refer either to intended consumer (lowest level might be "Peasant's Remedy," with highest being "Noble's Restorative"), or its efficacy referencing religious figures in a church (from "The Curate's Blessing" to "Saint Evros' Divine Elixir").

Gnomes. They don't seem to me to have a niche that isn't just as well filled by another character race. Don't really match up with the gnomes of folklore, and don't have any compelling characteristics in their RPG write-ups.

Sweet Jebus.

I've found these very useful, generally getting two copies of each release. They're printed front and back on thick stock, with distinct designs on each side. I've stayed with 3.5 and these are now the only WOTC product I buy.

I agree that some 3-D scenery/miniatures to use with these would be helpful.

I can hardly wait to see Tycho's comments and the inevitable comic about this on Penny Arcade.

What I've done in my game for those rolls that might alert a player to something that should only be obvious if they succeed in a skill check (or miss a saving throw)is to have them roll in advance.

I use an Excel grid and have the players each roll a d20 twenty times and record the results. Then I roll a d20 to determine which of these pre-rolls is the starting spot. Whenever I need a player roll where it isn't appropriate to let them know something's up, I just use the next roll on their list.

The players get to make their own rolls, I get keep from tipping them off about special circumstances, everyone's happy.

As a sidenote, my current game has been running for over 18 months and I still haven't run out of pre-rolls for any of the players. The need for these rolls is infrequent, but it's been great to have them available for those special occasions.

And November will see the release of "The Complete Mage." What else is going to go in the Complete series?

Sounds like one of the adventures from the Judges Guild "Book of Treasure Maps." The cover to that one was a photo of some gamers in costume out in the woods. Does that sound like what you're thinking of?
