My advice, when it comes to Pathfinder Society or any other similar organized games, is not to rely on builds that may be legal. It only leads to frustration and/or confrontation. Neither conducive to good group play.

Wow ...

The title of this thread made think this was going down a very different path ...

So you think the best time to alienate customers by requiring them to purchase a whole new set of expensive books is when your biggest competitor is alienating theirs as well? Bad, bad idea.

I came here back in early 2006 to ask a question after getting verbally pooped on by folks on another forum way back then.

Here I got nice answers, stayed, made friends, and the rest is history. I hate seeing the same behavior that drove me away from that other site happen here.

Be helpful, be nice, or ignore it and move on.

In my opinion, if you use language in a way unacceptable to the owners of a forum and they tell you not to, you shouldnt continue nor take it up with 'the general public'.

Send them an email if it really bugs you, imo. Internet forums are not democracies.

EDIT: It's a bit weird having my response appearing as the OP. Perhaps the whole thread should be deleted?

Because clearly someone else's opinion is worth more than my opinion because you agree with them and are a fanboy of the company.

Oh, Carty. I've already refuted your alleged points many times over. As have others. Sure, there's an actual argument underlying what you're saying, but you don't have any data to support it other than your over-inflated sense of self-importance. It's sad really. Reminds me of the old chestnut about being silent and letting everyone believe you are a fool instead of speaking to remove all doubt.

And yet, you keep speaking. Each time with nothing to offer except your unfounded, self-serving beliefs about the operation of the hobby market. A topic about which you have no background, authority, or credibility. Worse, you somehow believe that the volume and constant repetition of your Very Important Opinion renders you a greater expert than the company that has been most successful at marketing PPMs because of some minor distinction in the type of product. I imagine you also believe you are better than Apple at selling tablet computers with blue plastic cases because Apple only has experience selling tablet computers with white or black plastic cases.

You've lost, the home auidence knows you've lost, why not just admit defeat and quit backing yourself into illogical and indefensible corners based on your "understanding" of what price point constitutes an impulse buy for any particular set of consumers. You don't know anything of substance about this topic and, while neither do many of the others posting on this thread, we at least have the humility and self-awareness to acknowledge the limitations of our expertise.

Frankly, given your view on the Pathfinder rpg's lack of merit, and it's astounding success, I'm somewhat surprised that you haven't grown more cautious in spouting off. Maybe constantly being wrong has made you numb to the sensation. Maybe the wonder of the myopic universe you inhabit allows you to ignore reality. Or, maybe you just live to annoy other people, and these forums allow you an outlet for that. I guess everyone needs a hobby.

I suggest Pathfinder. It's a fun game.

Has anyone noticed the inherent irony of having an internet argument in a thread announcing the release of "Pathfinder Battles"?

I'd be interested in comparing our Psychology chops. Meanwhile, aside from sycophancy, please do offer anything you've got to the conversation. Aside from the 'this or nothing' which has already been stated, I'd love to learn more about what makes this true.

Evidence that that random pre-painted miniatures is the only viable way to market:

1) Wizkids is about the only company which produces PPMs, they must be doing something right.

2) Paizo has wanted to offer this sort of product for years. Reaper and other companies have been aware of this desire and yet to step up to the plate.

3) Paizo has already explained the logistics of miniature making several times in this thread.

But anyone with a brilliant way of making high quality, non-random, platic miniatures are welcome to start their own company and prove everyone wrong. Capitalism is awesome that way.

It was a conversation with Hyrmm and Mark. They did say my questions were more rules questions and I should post them on the forums. To which I replied, that I've been posting them and FAQ'ing them for years with no result. That then turned to I guess them offering up a reason my questions are as of yet unanswered "it would alienate those that don't agree".

I was rather depressed by the conversation and I didn't do as they suggested:
take my questions to JB/SKR/etc.

But all my questions should in their in-boxes, as they all have been FAQ tagged in the past.

I'm rather depressed myself. Especially after SKR flamed me in a thread for not acknowledging his work on the FAQ (I hadn't realized that the update date wasn't updating, so I thought it hadn't been updated in 6 months). If there is a decision at Paizo to not answer FAQs to avoid alienating people, that's actually alienating in itself.

Take it easy guys, no need to get "depressed". Are you dating Pathfinder or playing it? ;)
