Dear Everyone,

I am posting this to all of my games. I'm sorry for my lack of communication. Life has been dumping on me.

My work load is still overwhelmingly heavy, and we had a major medical scare in my family. My son had a relatively simple case of strep throat, and we learned the hard way that he is allergic to penicillin. Very allergic. We've been dealing with medical issues for over a week now.

I will be going on inactive status for a short while. I need to get things in order and I barely have time in my daily schedule to eat dinner with my family let alone do any gaming. Between too much work, finishing my dissertation, and my son's health, I have too much on my plate.

If you feel the need to replace my character, I understand. I will reach out to you when things settle down to see if there is still an opening. Probably in a few weeks.

I am swamped at work right now. I am preparing a grant proposal single-handed this week (yes, they gave me a week to finish it) and my free time has disappeared. I'm sorry if I've been absent/slow in posting. I will be finished today, and catch up this weekend with posting. I am sorry for the interruption and thank you for being understanding.

Sjurd begins another litany of arcane chanting, his white buffalo having disappeared during their divinatory revelry. Looks like more demons need trampling...


"Some spawn of Baphomet? A half-fiend? Who knows..." Sjurd follows behind the rest of the group.

Sjurd makes precise movements with his hands and intones eldritch words of power. Everyone in the party feels bolstered against the demonic onslaught.

I cast communal protection from evil. Everyone gets +2 AC against these guys.


"This could get messy." Sjurd moves back down the stairs, past Fabian, to avoid the minotaur shoving them over like a row of dominoes down the stairs.

Sorry for the wait. I've been adulting.

Sjurd sets to work gathering as many books as he can, stuffing them into his backpack, then into whatever bags held by party members.


Having momentarily incapacitated the zombies, Sjurd turns around and tries to stab at the warrior with his longspear.

Sjurd shrugs. "I'm getting used to Kazul's antics. Let's help him with whatever he is attacking."


"I suppose I can continue. I don't like going without my companion, but we can press forward."


"I wonder... can this door be sealed again with those spoken words? It would make an ideal place to rest and recuperate. I'm afraid I cannot summon Uli again until the next morning."


I'm back. I'm moving around like my grandpa, but I'm back. I will catch up and post momentarily.


Hey guys.

I was involved in a motor vehicle collision this morning. My car was rear-ended and then pushed into the rear of the car ahead of me at about 40 mph. The local hospital says I have whiplash, a lumbar sprain, and a concussion. It took me about 5 minutes to write this. I will post tomorrow after a good night's sleep. Sorry for the inconvenience. Sjurd shrieks in pain as the fire washes over him. He lands in a crumpled heap on the stone floor. He does not move.

HP: -12/46 Currently dying.

edit: Hmm... part of me is thinking, "I hope I don't die!" Another part of me is thinking, "Gosh, the Occult Adventures book has some cool material..."


Please transfer my attack to the alchemist instead.


Sjurd advances through the doorway toward the enemy to the west [move to N19] and attempts to skewer him with a longspear.

Sjurd walks through the portal [one square north] and mutters a few arcane words before pointing at a spot in the center of the room.

Uli goes down in a slumping heap as multiple blades pierce his skin. Sjurd cries out in anger and fear, "Noo! My friend!" only to be doused with burning chemicals...

...badly. Sjurd tries to cast a spell to help protect the group from the attacking demon-spawn.

"Here, paladin. Allow me to help." Sjurd intones arcane words and complex hand gestures for a few moments before pointing at a spot in front of the altar. A small water elemental springs into being. Sjurd points at the altar. "Clean." The elemental bows, turns, and sprays the altar with gentle jets of water. "He should have it done in no time."

Use of my summon monster ability.


Sjurd holds up a hand and stops Uli, noting that the portal is too crowded. The lantern archon, however, fires off two rays of pure light.
