(Male Human Cleric 1)

I order boar meat, fruit and juice.

"That does appear to be the case. So what is on the menu?"

(Male Human Cleric 1)

As the mayor leaves, I ask the Innkeeper, Boombada, "So how did you come to move to such an interesting little village."

(Male Human Cleric 1)

"I wouldn't mind some food," I say, "But I think I would like to find that ship first, before I make plans, I was expecting it to be waiting. This town is... very unusual and does not, on the surface appear to need a Servant of the Swift Sword to defend it."

I order some food from the good innkeeper.

(Male Human Cleric 1)

I follow along, wondering a bit at what sort of town has an inn that does not charge its customers for bedding there.

As i walk, I look around, trying to note the make-up and behavior of the townsfolks.

"Sir Muerdon of Gwyre," I say with a polite nod of my head.

(Male Human Cleric 1)

Near the docks, I see a large party of armed men approaching, one with a badger.

"Would any of you men know where to find the ship, Higher than the Sun?" I call out in a cheerful manner.

(Male Human Cleric 1)

Arriving in town alone, I take a moment to adjust my white clerical surcoat and smooth my hair before entering through the gates.

My first priority is to find the ship that was mentioned. Afterwards, if need be, I tell myself, I will find a comfortable place to pass the night.

(Male Human Cleric 1)

I shall of course serve wherever I am needed, but my preference is to be at the forefront of any battle, cleaving aside the minions of evil. That is not, however, to say that I am battle happy. There is a time and a place for a sharp, swift blade and a time for a fitly spoken word. When you choose the proper tool for each battle, the Valiant smiles his approval.

(Male Human Cleric 1)

So we have

- 2 clerics,
- 1 Paladin,
- 1 Rogue
- 1 Bard
and 1 Wizard.

Is that right?

Meurdon, max starting gold for cleric is 125 gp. Go to town! G. Sword - 50gp, Scale 50gp, 25 gold left for a rope and some biscuits.

Hrm, that seems a little low. I was thinking it was something like 3d6 or 4d6 x 10, which would be around 180 or 240.

As for weapon groups, I'll go with basic, heavy blades and maces/clubs.

(Male Human Cleric 1)

SRD doesn't list starting gold (that I'm aware of anyway) for the base classes. Does someone with current access to the books want to let me know the maximum starting gold for a cleric?

As we travel together on this road, recalling the glories of the past through the exploits of the future, I suggest we begin be calling upon Vorr to be our strength in the face of evil.

Might Swift Sword, let your might be with us and guide us.

Thank you. Allow me to introduce myself more properly.

I am Sir Muerdon... Sir Muerdon of Gwyre, Purifier of Vorr... currently I am questing, seeking to prove my worth to Vorr by combating the forces of iniquity and darkness wherever they may hide. I trust that our time spent together shall be fruitful in this regard.

Hello, my Name is Aubec and I am here to slay the evil and punish the wicked. All paladins try to bring their foe to justice, I carry justice on my back. In fact, the only two items I own are on my back, my chain shirt and my two-handed sword. For the rest, I either do without or take the spoils of my vanquished enemies.

Greeting's Sir Aubec. I think we shall get along just fine.

Greetings fellow travelers. May the blessings of Vorr be upon thee. I have yet to purchase my equipment, but I am otherwise prepared to bring the sword of righteousness to those that dwell in darkness.

Vorr, aka. the Knight of the Gods, is from the Kalamar setting. His favored weapon is the greatsword and his clerics quest to destroy evil. I have chosen the War Domain and the Nobility Domain.
