No, but I did get a walk on part - you can see me just to the left of Appa's rearmost left leg right before Sokka yells "yip yip" (not really).

Hera looks around, expecting something to come jumping out at her at any minute. "I think we should get out of here while we can." She says nervously.

"What in Baator was that!" Shym shrieks.

Shym lays there on his bed roll as the sun starts to crest the sandy horizon. He sighs loudly and pulls into a sitting position. He opens his pack and draggs out his spell book. Flipping through the pages he imagines the nightmare that the day will more than likely become.

Shym prepares his combat 1 set of spells

Shym rolls over and goes to sleep using his satchel as a pillow.

"Although it is a place of blasted heat, desert sand does not hold heat. It will get chilly after nightfall. Could someone please light a fire?" Shym mentions as he lays out his bedroll.

Shym plops down and pulls out his measly wedge of cheese and a bread. He breaks it into two pieces with some difficulty. If anyone has none, he offers half to them. Otherwise he begins to munch on his dinner.

"........................... camp sounds nice."

"That's a majority. Hera, do you mind?"

"Elerosse, is this a good place? Cadwyn, what about watches?"

Snake, Could you give us a nice description of our surroundings?

Shym looks at his companions and says, "Ok, what's the plan? There does not appear to be anything of interest as far as the eye can see. Do we pick a direction and hopre we don't get lost or are we going to set up camp for the night."

"I vote for camp."

Hera gives a slight smile at Xaephons polite request "Well," She says, "I guess looking around while it is still light would be a good idea, we can always head back for the city when night falls."

"In the dark?!?" Shym says with a slight edge of panic. "You know monsters are real right? I'm a powerful wizard and all but...I'm still mastering my technique...so this is about the best I can do!"

Shym casts ghost sound to produce the sound of a horde of rats running and squeaking on the other side if a nearby dune as if heading straight at the party.

Have to go back out of town for a few days...NPC me as necessary. Should be back this weekend. Have a good week, all.

Shym casts Charm Person hoping Cadwyn will give me all his money!

Since it took all day to get here by coach I am assuming it's late afternoon if not early evening.

"It's a long way home. Maybe we should find a nice spot to camp for the night. Tomorrow we can head out at first light."

"I am mighty thirsty. Xaephon, can you get your friends to bring us some?"

"Sure, my friend," replies Cadwyn. He turns slowly and sighs. "I'd hate to think we came all this way out here for nothing. This place obviously has some sort of significance..."

He puts his weapons away and takes the crossbow from Shym with a smile and a pat on the smaller man's back.

"So should we have at least a quick look here before we head back? It certainly couldn't hurt."

"...sure." Shym says without any hint of conviction.

"Hey, Elerosse, lets kick around a little while more, just in case."

DM Snake: how long did it take for us to get here by coach?

"My sword is still yours, however we decide to proceed."

Shym sees Elerosse and Hera heading home and shrugs.

"I'm slower than a dwarf with a broken leg carrying this blasted stick flinger around...Cadwyn, would you mind carrying it for me for awhile?" Shym holds out his crossbow, his puny arms trembling under its weight.

the Actar? I think it means the Actar.

"So we're supposed to go back to town?!?"

How far is it?

Listen-18+5=23 Elerosse stands there sliently kneeling to the desert sand, Taking out his water skin pouring drops into the sand. Then Elerosse looks at the others and replys to Xaephon, " I will try to find us food, hopefully Obad- Hai will be helping me. I think the voice could lead us to the murderer, or a clue to where the murderer is heading next." Elerosse waits to see if the voice replies and regrets wasting his water:(.

"What voice?!?" Shym hisses in near panic. "Will someone please tell me what is going on?"

When Shym sees the waterskin and hears Elerosse talking about food he takes a mental inventory. "Oh hell, I didn't bring any water!"

As we wander into the desert, following Elerosse, Shym asks "What do you hear? Should we ready our weapons?"

Listen-17+5=22 Elerosse listens to the voice, "There is someone in need of help!" Elerosse looks to see if he can find the person calling for help. spot-13+4=17, unless the person is in site where Elerosse can see the person then forget about the spot check.

"There is someone out here? Then let us make haste to their aid." Shym motions for Elerosse and those that can hear anything other than their own missery to lead the way.

"This sucks," Shym mutters under his breath. He keeps his free hand hovering over his spell component pouch. Adventuring is already more nerve racking than he expected.

That sounds reasonable. I'd say it costs 3sp. I'd say that you can buy all of it.

Something made up - a normal lantern uses oil and costs 1sp - I want one that holds a candle (uses a candle's light stats) instead of oil. A couple silver pieces up to a gold piece seems fair to me :)

Shym says, "I will accompany our friend Cadwyn and meet the rest of you at the designated departure point in two hours."

Shym sneaks home as outlined above and grabs his cain. He purchases a nice bedroll, a fancy little candle based lantern, and a few candles (he has 5gp - how much does it cost?)

Ready and willing unless anyone gives me an idea of something we need to purchase.

You have rations, rope, light...but no bedroll. ...of course, neither do I. Do you want to run by the store on our way out of town?

To Cadwyn Tallis: "I have 5gp I can front you...but maybe an even cut of any findings would be more agreeable?"

No way...Shym wants to get his cain afterall. But he doesn't want anyone to know where he lives. If everyone else is ready to leave straight away, Shym just sighs and agrees. If anyone else has any last minute business, Shym asked to be dropped off a block from his father's estate. He run over, grab his cain, and then run back. Either way is fine.

Nodding to Xaephon, Shym says "Aye, and I suspect there was sorcery involved. How else could all have heard the utternace at such a distance?" To Cadwyn Shym adds "Sir, what say you? Will you join us?"

He looks surprised. "Lopinsand? Well, if you'd asked anyone else about that, they would have refused. It's certainly a land of superstition. Luckily for you, I'm not of that type. You will be escorted to Lopinsand!"

Shym raises one eyebrow.

"And why would you be so willing to help us, my good sir?"

To Cadwyn: "I am not sure, and for that reason, we might be interested in hiring you to accompany us. You look like you are adept at wielding a sword?"

"Well, very well. But is there any service I can render?"

Remember, it will be tough to get to Lopinsand on your own.

Does any of us know that? Shym might suggest when away from the city guard that everyone pools their money and pays a sage or someone to gives them some intelligence on Lopinsand.

The Captain relents. "Alright." He says. "I believe you. But is there anything else I should know?"

Shym does not say anything, but looks to the brave looking fighter. He tries to convey a sense of urgency.

Being Chaotic Good Shym does not want to cause any trouble but he has his best interestes put first - namely getting to go on an adventure!

Diplomacy: (1d20+4=9)

Shym does not relish the idea of being questioned as to why he was out so late...he looks down at the floor, very much wishing his crossbow didn't feel like an anchor.

No, of course not...Shym was just surveying his companions, trying to pickout the most melee-ish...you definitely look the scariest to his domesticated senses. Hera looks the toughest though.

As we are lead away, I'd like to try to make a Diplomacy: (1d20+4=14)

So good gentlemen, you say we were observed at the scene of the murder? As my companion has asked, who is this witness that saw us but not the deed? He must have been close at hand to have been able to describe us so sufficiently...he therefore must have mentioned that we were on the far side of the bridge from Actar. I'm afraid we have little else we can contribute.

charming a watchman is probably a really bad idea, so yeah

I would like to use my Sense Motive skill on the watchman just to see if radiates any vibes - Sense Motive: (1d20+3=17)

Shym rolls his eyes and wishes dearly he hadn't left his cain at home - this flippin' crossbow is way heavier than it looks.

Shym gets up early the next morning, anxious about the foray into the desert. He prepares his spells (combat 1 selection), grabs a loaf of bread and a wedge of cheese, and heads back to the bridge to meet up with all the strangers from the night before. On his way out the door, he writes a letter to his father stating his intent and leaves his cain. "It'll probably be days before they even know I'm gone," he thinks to himself.

Emboldened by his presumed fear of facing us. "He agiates the waters spirit by his passage. Do you think he is going to flee north in to the desert?"

"I hope so. I the spirits are much more attentive away from the clothing of man."

"Sir, I have no idea what you are saying...but if mounting an expedition into the desert is at hand I think all gathered here must venture together. Count me in. I suggest we retire, gather our gear, and meet here tomorrow."

I got nothin'

Shym cuts a glance back to Hera, puts on his bravest face, and says "Onward, gentlemen and let us right this wrong!"

"Aye, but was his dying desire for us to seek out his doom in the desert or to avoid the arid land? What of his attacker? Should he be pursed or left be? I'm afraid I have been left with more questions than answers."

Does it look like there is any sign of the attacker?

Shym averts his eys back to the Actar...

Could we get a fancy word picture of the tower?

"What is the matter? Who is running?"

"Did you hear the thaumaturgical telling 'Lopinsand'?" Shym answers absentmindedly before noticing the ranger. He nervously adjusts his dagger, copying her obviously more comfortable style.

"I am Shym," he says to the group with a slight hesitency. "It appears that foul play has rendered true the midnight chime's calling. I am uneasy with the import of the desert being the last word a man may choose. ...and menacing Actar further bodes ill."

Shym looks to the elf and the human standing nearby (descriptions please). Shym, looks like an adventurer wannabe, with his new clothes and weapons worn awkwardly. He stands there in utter disbelief with his hands gripping a facny cain tightly.
